Conversation Café
Conversation Café is a drop-in forum hosted by the Senior Programs staff. Interact with people, share diverse views and a passion for engaging with others over interesting topics, local issues, and world news items. Candid discussions about selected topics elicit frank comments, and the dissemination of information, often with humorous anecdotes and interjections.
Location: Aspen Grove
Dates: Thursdays (except holidays) year-round

Fee: FREE (donations accepted for coffee and snacks)
Incline Village/Crystal Bay Veterans Club
Veterans, supporters and community members are always welcome to join the Club and the monthly lunchtime meetings. General Membership meetings are held the last Thursday of the month, January through October, from 12pm - 2pm at The Chateau (955 Fairway Blvd., Incline Village).
Join this dynamic group and be involved with special events and unique opportunities to honor and support local veterans, military service agencies, and special veteran support operations in the community, state, country and world. Lunches are free for dues paying members guest lunches are $7. Fees are $30 for an annual membership. Non-members and guests are always welcome to drop-in.
Join local veterans for special 4th of July events including the annual IV/CB Veterans Club Pancake Breakfast at Aspen Grove, Honoring Our Heroes Parade, Flag Retirement Ceremony and more! Plus, look forward to a new club sponsored event in September — Tahoeberfest!!









ACTIVE ADULT/SENIOR PROGRAMS
Active Adventures are open to all!
Seniors don’t get to have all the fun. While we prioritize seniors ages 55+ for the following adventures, these programs are open to anyone 21+ who would like to join us if space is available!
Summer Hiking Series
Join the group every Tuesday for guided hikes to beautiful Lake Tahoe locations. Meet in the Recreation Center Lobby. Bring water, lunch and sunscreen (camera and hiking poles recommended). Wear appropriate shoes and layered clothing.
Dates: Tuesdays, May 2 – October 24
Time: 8:30am – 3pm*
Fee: $15, $12 w/ IVGID Pass
Schedule: Schedule will be available online and in flyer form * some hikes require more/less time.
Jabber Walkies
Join this new program option for weekly hiking! Walk and talk at a more leisurely pace on these 3-5 mile treks with gentle elevation gain. Enjoy the greater Tahoe area, meet new people, and keep moving. Meet at the Recreation Center for an 8:30am departure. Bring water, lunch, sunglasses/hat, sunscreen and hiking poles. Wear appropriate shoes and clothing. All hikes are weather permitting for safety reasons.

Mountain/E-Biking
IVGID Senior programs is ready to host the summer Mountain Bike/E-bike Program. Starting in June, sign up to explore bike paths and off road trails throughout the Lake Tahoe Basin and Truckee. After the ride, enjoy an optional, no-host lunch with your fellow riders. This program 4pm - 5:30pm (food & drinks from 5:30pm 'til dusk)
The latest popular line dancing style is a great way to get some exercise, step to a wide variety of music, and have a great time! No partners needed, no experience required. Instructor will incorporate pop, rock, oldies, and western music selections to accompany dance steps. Class is held in the group fitness room in the Recreation Center. Register at the Recreation Counter by calling in, walking in, or online.
Summer Moonlight Hikes With Wine & Cheese Socials
These mile-long, paved road hikes to the Crystal Bay lookout site, sponsored in collaboration with the National Forest Service, usually include a spectacular sunset and ensuing moonrise. Participants are encouraged to wear warm clothing and bring a flashlight. The outing includes transportation, wine, cheese and snacks provided by staff. Sign up and enjoy the views, friends, refreshments and fun.
If you would like to participate, but are unable to hike either or both ways, you may ride in the van to join the group at the top and enjoy the views and the fun!
