Now more than ever, parks are essential to provide outdoor spaces and recreation venues for residents. The Parks Department established goals early this fiscal year, but then was able to pivot to address new goals and meet the needs of our internal and external customers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

2019-20 services delivered include:

• Providing clean and safe parks. • Enhancing trails, parks and beaches. • Urban forestry management and defensible space cleanup. • Supporting recreation opportunities through park venues.

MOVING FORWARD

The COVID-19 pandemic is a challenging experience. The lessons we are learning from our experiences will have a lasting impact on the way we operate in the future. In dealing with this pandemic, the Parks team continues to meet the needs of our customers. As we move into 2020-21, we understand the importance of venues that provide our community members with a variety of recreational spaces. StevenPhillips
