the more practical question of whether the money will be there when each component comes due. Browning puts it this way in the summary that goes to every owner: percentages below one hundred percent “do not necessarily indicate that the Association's reserves are inadequately funded,” and on the thirty year projection the reserves “appear adequately funded.” The 2027 budget. The Board is proposing to raise monthly dues from $392 to $397. That is five dollars a month, and all five go to reserves. Nothing is being added to operations. A cash flow reserve stays strong only while it is funded on schedule, and the five dollars is what keeps ours on schedule. Communities that let the contribution drift are the ones that end up with a five figure special assessment when a road or a roof finally comes due. The budget also reflects a year of work on the spending side. Every line was tested against actual history rather than rolled forward. We reviewed vendor contracts and insurance, and moved the reserve investments to professional fiduciary management, which now earns the Association real money against costs that would otherwise fall to you. Please come and tell us if we have it wrong. The budget is ratified at the Board meeting on Tuesday, November 10 at 6:00 PM. If you disagree with the increase, that is the meeting to attend, and we would far rather hear it from you there than not at all. Meet the Candidates is Thursday, November 5 at 6:00 PM, and the Annual Members Meeting is Tuesday, December 8. Thank you for your patience this year with the construction, the transition, and all the paperwork in between.

Resident Spotlight tom & maurine turner: a life built on family, restaurants and a good sense of humor

When Tom and Maurine Turner moved to ArrowCreek in December 2020, they brought nearly three decades of Lake Tahoe memories, a thriving restaurant legacy, four children, three dogs—and a lifetime of stories. Before the move, they had lived in Carnelian Bay, California, for 27 years. Tahoe had been Tom’s home since 1980, when the restaurant business first drew him to the area. Maurine grew up in Campbell, California, and spent many summers visiting her uncle in South Lake Tahoe. Their paths crossed on Christmas night in 1993 at Gar Woods, one of Tom’s restaurants, where Maurine was dining with her mother—who apparently thought Tom was “pretty hot.” The rest, as they say, is history. Tom’s career in the restaurant business began while he was attending Cal. In 1988, he opened Gar Woods, which became one of the best-known restaurants in the Lake Tahoe area. Over the years,

little more work on the house than originally anticipated. Tom enjoys skiing, swimming and working out. He also travels frequently to visit his children and grandchildren and makes an annual trip to Hawaii with Maurine. The Turners have also made philanthropy an important part of their lives. Two causes especially close to Tom’s heart are the Tahoe Fund and The Children's Cabinet. Through the restaurants, Tom and his partners have helped raise more than $400,000 for the Tahoe Fund. Closer to home, the Turners have hosted several ArrowCreek Wine Lovers Charity Galas benefiting The Children's Cabinet. Tom and the restaurants donate the food and wine, allowing guests to make donations to the organization. For Tom, giving back is less about ceremony and more about bringing people together around something they enjoy while supporting a worthwhile cause.

the way. And perhaps most importantly, they are measured in family. Tom's final message is a simple one: “Thanks to all of them for putting up with me, my humor and the amount of work required in this business.” Then, true to form, he adds the observation that

biggest little mess fest - a huge success by patrick turner, chief advancement officer, the discovery The Discovery kicked off a brand-new tradition on Saturday, September 12, as more than 1,200 visitors flooded the museum for the inaugural Biggest Little Mess Fest — proving that Reno families are more than ready to get their hands (and everything else) dirty for science. The museum's galleries, labs, and parking lot were transformed into a playground of squishing, splashing, and digging, all built around a simple idea: people learn better when they're allowed to make a mess. Behind every ooey, gooey station was real STEM content, giving kids — and more than a few adults — permission to explore science through their senses. The event also welcomed partner organizations from throughout the community, including SPCA of Northern Nevada, PBS Reno, the Washoe County Coroner’s Office, Nevada Museum of Art, UNR’s Innevation Center, Granite Construction, Plenium Builders, Q&D Construction, and more.

With turnout exceeding expectations, Mess Fest instantly established itself as one of the most popular single-day events in The Discovery's history — a strong signal that "sanctioned mess" has real staying power to get kids curious about science. Given the response, The Discovery’s staff is already looking to make Biggest Little Mess Fest an annual tradition, with bigger activities and more community partners expected in 2027. The Discovery is located at 490 S. Center Street in downtown Reno. Museum hours, admission information, and details about upcoming events and programs can be found at nvdm.org.

RF like you’ve never experienced before.

76% 82% 239 % Boost in collagen fiber density

Surge in elastin fiber density

Increase in newly synthesized collagen

TIGHTER SKIN. NO NEEDLES. NO NUMBING. NO KIDDING. As we age, our skin tells a story — one written in sagging, wrinkles, and hollowing. Starting around age 30, the body loses roughly 1% of its collagen each year. Old collagen and elastin accumulate in the deeper dermis while fibroblasts — the cells responsible for producing new collagen — slow down. Fat pads diminish, and even bone structure subtly recedes. The result? The sagging and laxity so many patients want to address. Dr. Billie Casse is excited to offer a solution: DENSITY by Jeisys, here from Korea — a next-generation, FDA-cleared dual radiofrequency device that treats the full dermal layer, from the papillary to the reticular dermis. What sets DENSITY apart is its unique combination of sequential monopolar and bipolar RF energy delivered. in a single pulse. Bipolar RF targets the superficial dermal layer for that immediate cinching and tightening effect, while monopolar RF penetrates deeper to trigger long-term collagen remodeling. The result is up to five times more collagen stimulation than traditional RF devices. "It's unlike any other device out there," says Dr. Casse. "We can actually treat the entire dermal layer and create more collagen and elastin. Patients just love it!" The treatment is comfortable — thanks to five adjustable levels of cryogen cooling integrated into every pulse — and requires zero downtime. Patients often notice an immediate tightening effect, with full results continuing to develop over three to five months as new collagen is synthesized. DENSITY is safe for all skin types and skin colors. Ideal candidates are anyone beginning to notice early sagging — whether it's softening along the jawline, jowls, marionette folds, or difficulty applying makeup around the eyes due to hooding. Dr. Casse's favorite treatment areas include the lower face, neck, and the delicate eye region.

Dr. Billie Casse DO., FAAD, FAOCD Simone Jensen, MSN, APRN, FNP-C Roxann Richardson, PA-C

Snow removal in arrowcreek ArrowCreek has elevations ranging from 5000 to over 6000 feet ArrowCreek can receive substantial amounts of snowfall. From November through April, Q&D (the HOA snow removal vendor) is on call 24/7 for snow removal. Your Facilities Staff is also charged with removal of snow from over twenty miles of pathways, bus stops and the Residents’ Center grounds. The Security Department also salts the dangerous corners and intersections and assists motorists who may need help. During large snowstorms, Q&D and the staff may need to remove snow multiple times in one day. Please be patient with the snow removal program. It can take 18+ hours to clear and sand all roads within ArrowCreek depending on the amount of snowfall. Contact ArrowCreek Security at 775.850.4450 with all snow removal concerns The main objective during a snowstorm is to keep roadways passable, and to clear roads as quickly as possible. Q&D will focus on the main arterial roads within ArrowCreek first, and then move on to all the side streets. The snowplow operators push the snow off the roadway in smooth, continuous passes and the snow ends up on the road shoulders, sometimes blocking driveways. Snow berms come with the territory and are the resident’s responsibility to remove from their driveway entry. Please shovel snow to the side and not back out into the street when clearing a berm. To avoid double work, try to remove snow from your driveway after a plow has been by. There are also many local companies for hire that will remove snow from your driveway, if needed. season of giving - arrowcreek's 11th annual holiday donation drive It is that wonderful time of year again! The ArrowCreek Security team is excited to begin our 11th Annual Holiday Donation Drive, and we want to thank ALL of our residents who helped make last year’s 10th Annual Drive such an incredible success. Thanks to your generosity, the ArrowCreek community was able to donate three truckloads of food, toys, and clothing to children and families in need. What an amazing accomplishment! This year, we’re hoping to make an even bigger impact and bring even more joy to families in our community who could use a little extra help this holiday season.

We will be accepting donations now through December 11, 2026. We are collecting: nonperishable food items, new or gently used clothing, and toys. ACHOA employees will be happy to accept your generous donations at both the Gatehouse and the Residents' Center. On December 12th, we will deliver all of your thoughtful donations to the GSR, where Toys for Tots and the Food Bank of Northern Nevada will collect and distribute them to children and families in need throughout the holiday season. Thank you, ArrowCreek, for your continued kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. Together we can make this holiday season a little brighter for those in need! Happy Holidays and thank you for helping us spread the joy of giving!

ArrowCreek Residents Cruise Alaska By Katrina Bader

Seventeen couples from ArrowCreek, along with a few family members, joined us for an incredible Alaska cruise aboard Virgin Voyages’ newest ship, the Brilliant Lady. We set sail from Seattle and headed north to our first port of call, Ketchikan, where it rained most of the day. Our next stop was Sitka, where we enjoyed an unforgettable whale-watching adventure. We spotted more than 20 whales. From Sitka, we cruised toward Dawes Glacier, a spectacular 15-mile-long tidewater glacier. Because it was so late in the season, the ship was able to get remarkably close to the glacier, giving us an amazing view of this massive natural wonder. Seeing the glacier up close was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Our final stop was Prince Rupert. While there wasn’t a lot happening in town, it gave us another chance to relax, enjoy the ship, and spend time together before making our way back to Seattle. All in all, it was a wonderful adventure filled with breathtaking scenery, incredible wildlife, plenty of laughter, and great memories shared with our ArrowCreek friends and family.

Give the gift of adventure. Six certified organic, small batch roasts featuring Blind Dog Coffee’s original 2007 National Parks artwork. A timeless collection to gift, savor, and remember.
