Gratefully, the warm days of summer have returned to the Truckee Meadows and the ArrowCreek community. With the longer days, comes more time for fun and healthy activities for ArrowCreek residents and our families. The ACHOA community members are welcoming new neighbors, new homes are being built, summer vacations have started, the Club at ArrowCreek is complete, and enjoyable fitness activities are returning to the Residents’ Center along with the opening of the swimming pools. These fitness classes include Yoga, Low Impact Aerobics, and a Barre class. They are offered throughout the week and are taught by knowledgeable and dedicated instructors. See the information below to sign up for these sessions.

In addition, healthy walking opportunities abound and can be found in the ArrowCreek community on paved and gravel paths. Multiple fitness levels on the walking paths are available from easy to more strenuous and informative. Convenient trail maps of the walking loops in ArrowCreek and for Washoe County trails can be picked up in the ArrowCreek Residents' Center. The foldable maps have been conveniently designed to take with you on your walk and stuff in your back pocket or day pack. Washoe County is working on additional hiking trails including one that is under construction this summer and will be completed by Fall 2022, as shown in the photos. This new public trail will be 3.5 miles long, lays just west of the ArrowCreek community on United States Forest Service land and will connect the existing Thomas Creek trailhead on the south to the Ballardini Ranch Trail on the north. Once opened in the Fall of 2022, it will be easily accessed by the Thomas Creek trailhead parking lot or for ArrowCreek residents, by walking up High Vista Drive, connecting to Thomas Creek Trail, and heading west to the connecting trail. See photo for the new trail alignment. So, whatever your interests, get out and enjoy your ArrowCreek community, meet your neighbors and stay fit this summer and fall in ArrowCreek!
