01 2023 CLT PRIVATE SECTOR RESIDENTIAL WORK SALISBURY, ENGLAND

AutoCAD, Excel Budgeting, Client Communications, Manufasture & Supply As a CLT Technician, I have contributed to a range of projects across the UK, focusing on Residential, Education, and Hospitality sectors.

A notable project includes working on a visually graded house for an architect in the English countryside. This project demanded minimal tolerances and showcased my precision and attention to detail.

It reinforced my commitment to sustainable residential design, demonstrating the harmonious blend of eco-conscious choices with modern aesthetics and comfort.

Through this project, I deepened my understanding of sustainable materials and techniques, further enhancing my ability to deliver high-quality, environmentally friendly designs.

02 2018-19 BALENCIAGA BOUTIQUE BARCELONA, SPAIN

AutoCAD, Photoshop, Site Visits, Excel, Scheduling Led the architectural design development of a new Balenciaga store in Barcelona, initiating the project with a comprehensive site analysis and measurements post-strip-out.

Collaborated with city officials and legislatures to restore the historically protected building façade, addressing misalignments from prior renovations.

Leveraged AutoCAD to produce detailed design and construction drawing sets, including specialized furniture layouts for Millworkers and General Contractors.

Ensured project success through effective teamwork, technical expertise, and a keen focus on preserving architectural integrity.

03 2019 Secondary School for 500 Children THIONK ESSYL, SENEGAL

Architectural Design, Model-Making, Photography

As a key contributor to the Thinonck-Essyl High School project in Senegal, I designed, constructed, and photographed a detailed 2m x 3.5m 1:200 scale model.

This model represented the entire site, including 16 classrooms, a football field, and the local vegetation, mirroring the project’s commitment to blending education with the natural environment.

The model played a crucial role in fundraising efforts, serving as a tangible visual representation for stakeholders and potential donors. My photography of the model further enhanced its impact, aiding in effectively communicating the project’s vision and goals.

Working on this project, I navigated unique challenges presented by the remote location, ensuring cultural relevance and sensitivity in every aspect of the design.

PERSONAL PROJECTS

01 2020-21 PLASTER CASTING TECTONIC STUDY

In this project, I explored the potential of flexible formworks to create unique roof fragments, emphasizing the dichotomy between the solidity of cast concrete and the impression of softness.

Using a fabric pillowcase, I experimented with texturing surfaces and producing distinct indentations. This process led to the selection and rearrangement of three specific casts, which were used to design a variety of sheltered spaces.

To tackle the challenge of structural coherence, I innovated by casting the columns directly against the roof’s underside. This approach ensured a reliable interlock between the columns and the roof, enhancing the overall stability.

The result is a novel architectural form: a partially self-supported roof, complemented by structural columns that efficiently distribute the load. This project not only improved my technical skills but also my ability to blend artistic expression with practical construction solutions.

02 2020-21 TENSILE STRUCTURES TECTONIC STUDY

Inspired by Frei Otto’s expertise in lightweight tensile structures, this project blends structural innovation with artistic flair. We achieved a floating building illusion using large elements supported by thin cables, thanks to advanced tensile engineering and material selection.

Beneath this delicate structure, we created a tranquil space, seamlessly integrated with the light membrane above. This design not only honors Otto’s legacy but also advances lightweight construction, balancing aesthetics with functionality.

The project epitomizes the harmony of art and engineering, achieving visual lightness without compromising structural stability.

03 2021-22 LLOYD’S REGISTER EXISTING BUILDING STUDY

This building study highlights the evolution of architectural styles and the building’s lasting impact on London’s architectural heritage.

The Lloyd’s Register Building in London, originally housing the Lloyd’s Register Shipping Insurance, reflects a rich architectural journey. Starting in the 1890s with a classical Italian design by Thomas Edward Collcutt, it symbolized the company’s growth. Over the years, several expansions including a gun shooting range and additional floors, were added to accommodate further growth.

Notably, the building harmoniously integrated the façade of the Coronation House within a conservation area. A significant architectural shift occurred in 2001 with the addition of the Richard Rogers building, characterized by its external installations and a departure from traditional ornamentation, showcasing a complex yet detailed modern design.

04 2021-22 PECKHAM SCAFFOLD MARKET CARE & REPAIR

“The Scaffold Market in Peckham is a visionary project that repurposes materials from its former scaffolding yard to create a dynamic, multi-functional space.

Embracing sustainability, it offers a diverse mix of markets, workshops, art exhibitions, and community areas, all aligned with the proposed Peckham Coal Line initiative.

This project not only supports local businesses but also provides relaxed exterior spaces and a rooftop for community engagement and leisure, contributing to greening an area of 1000m2 in central Peckham.

The design mirrors Rye Lane’s vibrant energy, extending its bustling atmosphere into a new pedestrian and cyclist-friendly realm.

The Market is a hub for creativity and connectedness, offering an alternative to the crowded Rye Lane, and connecting two high streets with added greenery.

Its flexible, forward-thinking design sets a precedent for repurposing and revitalizing other brownfield sites in the area, making it a beacon for community-led urban development.
