RENEWING   LIVES

Proclaiming Christ as Lord and demonstrating His love through health care.

“Without Christ Community I’d have lost half my teeth.” Your support helps us care for 3 generations of 1 family

Stacey heard about Christ Community from her mother who is a patient here. “I don’t have any insurance. When I first came I hadn’t been to the doctor in 15 years,” Stacey said. “I’ve been coming here about 3 years. Last year I had a bad gum infection. I think I came to the dental clinic almost every month. They got my gums under control and all of the cavities filled.” “If it weren’t for Christ Community I would have lost half of my teeth.” “They’re great. I just got my daughter in on the medical side. “ “Most of all they put God in front of it all. It’s not just about dental and health. They ask about how I’m doing, is there anything they can pray with me about. When they say Christ Community it’s definitely there!” Your donations help us take care of 3 generations of this family! Your gift today will help ensure we can continue to care for thousands of families in the Augusta area.

Behavioral Health

Your support helps provide more than basic medical and dental care We see the impact of substance abuse on our patients and their families every day. Our focus is caring for the physical, spiritual and psychological needs of our patients. As part of our behavioral health services, we offer screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT) for current adult patients.

We recently saw a patient who was discharged from the hospital after going through detox. We screened him and were able to expedite the process of getting him into a local rehab program. He was reluctant to enroll in the program but we provided support and encouragement during the admission process. He’s now enrolled in rehab with motivation and hope that his life will improve as he works to maintain his sobriety. He and his sister, through their tears, expressed their gratitude. He now has hope for his future. Your donations help us provide this kind care to our patients. You’re helping turn lives around every day. Will you make a donation to Christ Community today at www.cchsaugusta.org/donate? PAGE 3

Go and Tell John

By Jeff Drake, Executive Director

You helped make all this happen When I look back on 2018, I’m thankful for you and everyone who supported Christ Community Health. With your support in 2018 we • Completed more than 28,500 patient encounters. Every encounter was a chance to demonstrate Christ’s love. • Cared for almost 7,500 individual patients - children, teens and adults who needed affordable, quality medical and dental care. • Renovated our Laney-Walker community health center on D’Antignac Street. Our expanded pediatrics department is ready to welcome your children. • Expanded our Behavioral Health Services (see the story to left of this article) to focus on alcohol and substance abuse for our current patients. I’m very grateful for your continued financial support, your prayers and your encouragement. It’s a privilege to join with you in sharing the love of Christ in our community. You’re a vital part of this ministry. THANK YOU! “Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive sight, and lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up, and poor have good news preached to them.” -Matt. 11:4-5

“They make me feel good”

MARCH 2019

Ray is able to get the attention he needs because you cared. “I guess it’s hard for some people to say they enjoy going to their

doctor, but I enjoy it when I come to Christ Community. They make me feel good.”

Ray has been a Christ Community patient for 5 years. “I’ve been coming ever since I was diagnosed with kidney failure. I didn’t have any insurance. One of the doctors in the hospital told my wife to see if we could get an appointment. That’s how I ended up coming here.” “When I have an appointment I’m here 30 minutes early. They do treat me good. They listen to me. “If Christ Community wasn’t here I’d be at home, probably looking out the door wondering how I could see the doctor.” “This is the best place where someone could donate. Why not donate so Christ Community can help more people?” said Ray. We’re thankful Ray feels good about the care he gets at Christ Community. Your support helps makes that possible. Ray is able to get the attention he needs because you cared. You can donate today at www.cchsaugusta.org/donate.
