You see, Vanessa is on a journey toward freedom from addiction. She is currently in a local recovery program and doing very well. “God has been in the details of everything. He helped me see my need to get out of that old life. Since I decided to get better, He has provided so much help. The health and dental care I’ve received from Christ Community has been an amazing part of it.”

Vanessa’s struggle with addiction had a serious impact on her body. Thanks to your support, she is able to get the health and dental care she needs to fully recover from her old life. “I’ve been down the dark road. I’m just so thankful there are people who are willing to help me and point me towards hope in God. You have no idea what your support means to me.”

‘Til the Cows Come Home 5K Trail Run - April 21 - 7:00 pm Did you know more than 200 of our patients were served by our partnership with Augusta University’s physical therapy program in 2016? Instructors and students from Augusta University take time out of their schedule every week to provide physical therapy services to Christ Community Health patients. Dr. Janet Tankersley, Assistant Professor, adds, “This is a great experience for our students to practice the skills they learn in the classroom, under the direction of faculty, while teaching patients how to manage pain, overcome challenges, get back to work and become active again.”

With the completion of the renovation on

the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Widows Home, we will be able to see patients on-site to provide these Physical Therapy services again. We are excited for this opportunity to expand the PT program and would love for you to partner with us.

The 4th Annual ‘Til the Cows Come Home 5k Trail Run fundraiser at beautiful Steed’s Dairy Farm is Friday, April 21. This trail run is both fun and challenging and great for beginners and fitness enthusiasts alike. We would love for you to join us!

Carol is one of our nurses as well as a Respiratory Therapist spearheading the new Respiratory Care Coordination Program.

Carol explains, “The Respiratory Care Coordination Program is an indigent program that allows us to provide CPAP and BiPAP machines to patients that are unable to afford them the traditional way through insurance.”

“Just the other week, we had a patient come in that was going to be put on a ventilator at the hospital. However, because we had a BiPAP in stock we were able to get him on that so he could be at home instead of running up thousands of dollars’ worth of bills at the hospital on the ventilator.”

With your continued support, these respiratory patients can have an increased quality of life and, hopefully, a good night’s sleep.

You made it happen Looking back on 2016 reminds me of how much we have to be thankful for at Christ Community Health.

I am very thankful for all that your support helped us accomplish last year.

Thanks to you, in 2016 Christ Community: • Recorded more than 24,600 patient encounters. Every encounter is a chance to demonstrate the love of Christ.

• Cared for more than 6,300 individual patients - children, teens, adults and seniors who needed affordable, quality care.

• Began construction on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Widows Home.

(Our dental clinic and physical therapy center will open soon.)

• Welcomed 45 students who rotated through our clinic and experienced first-hand healthcare and the Gospel working together.

• Earned Patient Centered Medical Home Level 3 Status.

I just wanted to hold my grandchild…

Imagine not being able to hold your newborn grandbaby because your body is too weak.

This is Stacey’s harsh reality. Stacey suffers from an autoimmune disease that has brought muscle weakness and fatigue to her whole body. Not only that, but this condition went undiagnosed and untreated for years before coming to Christ Community Health. She had been going to the doctor regularly for a while, but once this disease kicked in she was unable to work and lost her insurance before finding out what was causing her pain. Then she found Christ Community Health.

“The first day there was amazing. I sat down and the doctor gave me as much time as I needed to explain my situation.

Afterwards, he asked me if he could pray with me. It was just what I needed to start treatment. I needed God to be in the center of my treatment. The doctor figured out I had an autoimmune disease. Finally, I had an answer.”

Stacey says, “I come to Christ Community Health because they found a way to treat my symptoms so hopefully I will be strong enough to hold my newest granddaughter.”
