2025 PROGRAMMING

FROM DAVID

Welcome to Cotuit Center for the Arts! Our theme this year is “Home is Where the Art Is,” reflecting the vibrant, inclusive, and creative community we are building together. In 2024, we proudly served almost 50,000 people through our diverse range of programs and events.

With two theater spaces, over 400 classes in visual and performing arts annually, and our incredible outdoor venues—Tangletuit and The Back Yard—there truly is something for everyone. Last year, our theatrical programming included two major productions, Legally Blonde and Fiddler on the Roof, which garnered such acclaim that over 1,000 people were placed on waiting lists due to the buzz and word-of-mouth these shows generated. These productions exemplify the quality and excellence we strive for in all of our performances.

Our gallery continues to host high-caliber visual art exhibits, attracting artists and art lovers alike. Additionally, our concert series brings incredible musical talent to the Cape, offering unforgettable experiences for our audiences.

We are also deeply committed to outreach and inclusion. Through our Marjorie Lynne Art Bus program, we have already served over 5,000 individuals, providing access to arts education and enrichment to children and adults of all abilities. In addition, our Cape Cod CAN and inclusive visual and performing arts intern programs further exemplify our dedication to fostering a welcoming environment where everyone can engage with the arts. Programs like these reflect our mission to ensure that the arts are accessible and meaningful to everyone in our community.

If you’re here for a theatrical production, an art exhibit, a class, or a concert, we encourage you to dive deeper into what Cotuit Center for the Arts has to offer. Consider taking a class, signing up to volunteer, or getting involved behind the scenes. Our community thrives because of people like you who embrace the arts and help bring them to life.

Please also consider becoming a member of the Center. Members enjoy exclusive events throughout the year and play a vital role in supporting everything we do. Thank you for being a part of our vibrant arts community. Together, we’ll continue to make “Home is Where the Art Is” a reality for all.

With gratitude and excitement,

EDUCATE, ENTERTAIN, ILLUMINATE, INSPIRE, INCLUDE

The arts are essential.

Our mission is to be a welcoming home for Cape Cod’s artists, performers, students, and audiences, working together to make the creation and experience of art accessible, nurturing, and thrilling to all.

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

AT COTUIT CENTER FOR THE ARTS

What was once a simple gas station along Route 28 has been transformed into a thriving hub for ceramic arts! The John and Marjorie McGraw Family Ceramics Studio, originally built 78 years ago, found new life in 2017 when Cotuit Center for the Arts acquired the property—thanks to the generosity of our dedicated donors and supporters. Today, this unique space has been reimagined as a welcoming community ceramics studio, where artists of all levels can get their hands dirty and bring their ideas to life.

At the Ceramics Studio, we believe in the power of clay to inspire, heal, and connect. Whether you’re a beginner looking to explore a new medium, a seasoned potter refining your skills, or simply someone who loves the feel of clay between your fingers, you’ll find a supportive, creative atmosphere to experiment, learn, and grow.

Our studio offers a variety of opportunities, including hands-on classes, open studio time, and specialized workshops covering everything from handbuilding and wheel throwing to glazing and sculptural techniques. With expert instructors, a collaborative environment, and the freedom to explore, the possibilities are endless.

Come join us and experience the joy of ceramics—where imagination meets the wheel, and creativity knows no bounds!

BRINGING THE ARTS TO ALL COMMUNITY OUTREACH

CapeCodCAN: Arts Without Limits

At Cotuit Center for the Arts, we believe that the arts should be accessible to all. Through our outreach initiatives, we are dedicated to bringing arts education and experiences to underserved and atrisk populations across Cape Cod. Two of our most impactful programs— CapeCodCAN and the Art Bus— exemplify our mission of inclusivity, creativity, and community engagement.

Founded in 2011, the Cape Cod Collaborative Arts Network (CapeCodCAN) is an essential outreach program of Cotuit Center for the Arts, providing meaningful opportunities for artists on Cape Cod and the South Shore with diverse abilities. CapeCodCAN is built on the belief that artistic expression should be inclusive and that everyone deserves a platform to create, perform, and showcase their talents.

Each year, CapeCodCAN serves over 500 individuals through a wide array of activities, including:

Art lessons that empower participants to explore their creativity

Gallery shows where artists can exhibit their work to the public Theater and Visual Arts Internship Program

Opportunities to develop transferable employment and life skills

Talent shows and performances that allow individuals to shine on stage

The Art Bus: A Mobile Canvas of Creativity...

Art has the power to move people— sometimes quite literally. That’s where our Art Bus, the Marjorie-Lynne, comes in. This 40-foot-long school bus, transformed into a mobile art classroom, was acquired through a generous donation in 2021 and is now a vibrant, traveling beacon of creativity on Cape Cod.

Beautifully wrapped in a mural by artist Jackie Reeves, the Art Bus embodies the spirit of Cotuit Center for the Arts, taking creativity on the road to schools, community events, parades, and public gatherings. It serves as a rolling classroom, performance space, and inspiration hub, ensuring that art remains an accessible and engaging part of everyday life.

Whether through a painting class, a theater performance, or a mobile creative experience, Cotuit Center for the Arts continues to make the Cape a more vibrant, inclusive, and imaginative place for all. Join us in celebrating and supporting these programs as we continue to share the joy of the arts with our entire community.
