CCFSA WOMEN IN CIVIL COMMITTEE UPDATE
CCFSA WOMEN IN CIVIL COMMITTEE UPDATE
With this year rapidly coming to a close, we are able to look back over the fantastic year that was for the CCF SA Women in Civil Committee!
The year 2019 has seen our annual events continue to thrive, and we’ve also been able to add multiple workshops to our roster! As we continue to grow in 2020, we plan on increasing our work to also see further involvement around education and encouraging more female students to consider Civil Construction as an option early in their career.
We will remain highly committed to celebrating and empowering women within our industry, and are proud to extend a big welcome to our newest members, Erin Reynolds of T & J Constructions, and Julie Hiscock from Civil Tech.

Most recently, we had great success at our Festive Lunch held on 19 November at the Adelaide Convention Centre. We were thrilled to have a high profile guest speaker, Romilly Madew AO, CEO of Infrastructure Australia, inspiring our audience and sharing her experiences within our industry. We know the importance of having empowering female role models and Romilly is an excellent example of what is achievable for women in the construction industry. Thanks to everyone who came along and supported the annual event.

On behalf of myself and the committee, we would also like to congratulate our Chairperson, Carly Zanini, and her family on the arrival of their baby girl Florence back in October! With Carly now on maternity leave, I will be filling in as acting Chairperson until her return. Carly is also to be congratulated on her induction into the 2019 SA’s Women Hall of Fame in an event at Government House where she has been recognised for all her outstanding contributions for women within our industry. This is an exceptional achievement, and we are so proud of her hard work and commitment to us all!
We are also working hard to stay more in touch between events and articles, sharing relevant information to support the Women in Civil Committee through our LinkedIn page – if you aren’t already, make sure you follow us on our page at Women in Civil – Civil Contractors Federation SA.
If you or your organisation are interested in getting involved in the Women in Civil Committee or have any suggestions or feedback, please reach out to us at womenincivil@ccfsa.com.au – we’d love to hear from you!
We are all looking forward to an even bigger and brighter New Year, and hope to see you all at our 2020 events.

Alison Paley Acting-Chairperson, CCF SA Women in Civil Committee. As at November 2019.
