Handpicked by Artistic Director Willy Tsao, Amidst the Wind is a feast of the most exhilarating dance excerpts from CCDC’s productions from the last decade, including works by renowned choreographers – Willy Tsao, Helen Lai, Sang Jijia, Mui CheukYin and Xing Liang – as well as recent creations from rising star choreographers – Noel Pong and Dominic Wong. Amidst the Wind distills the essence of 35 years into one unforgettable evening.

鹽 鶴焗

鶴，是中國傳統文化美學的代表，優雅迷人、超凡脫俗，但若用客家傳統的烹調法將之「鹽焗」，是何其另類、怪異？這正好延續年輕 編舞何其沃一貫的前衛風格。 作品以局限為切入點，在喧囂而孤獨、慌張而冷漠，敏感卻令人無能為力的當下，我們該如何掙扎逃離思維、意識的自縛，尋求自我 安慰以至自我解脫？ 一向被冠以「怪才」之稱的何其沃，近年在中國迅速走紅，今次夥拍著名獨立實驗音樂人梁奕源，以別具一格的肢體語言為廣東現代 舞團編創舞蹈劇場《鹽焗鶴》，五月在廣州首演三場，一票難求。十二月將會把甕中鹽焗的滋味帶到香港。 Crane represents longevity, an auspicious symbol of elegance. But when the crane is roasted with salt instead of a chicken in the traditional Hakka way, what would it taste like? This is the perfect parable for young choreographer Er Gao’s avant-garde characteristic.

Salty Roast Crane is a work about restrictions, expressing the struggle between chaos and loneliness, restlessness and indifferent, as well as the helpless yet sensitive contemporary. How can one escape from confined thoughts and conscience, and find a solution to break through?

Er Gao from Guangzhou is known for his sense of quirkiness and a rising star in Chinese choreography. He teams up well-known independent musician Liang Yiyuan and Guangdong Modern Dance Company to create a new movement vocabulary for Salty Roast Crane, pushing his signature style to the extreme. The performance premiered in Guangzhou in May and was positively received by local audiences. The salty crane will make its debut this winter in Hong Kong.

BeijingDance/LDTX invited young choreographer Liu Bin to create A Place, which has been produced twice in Beijing. Chic and wild, Liu is an emerging artist known for his boldness and multi-faceted concepts. Delicate movement and sharp visions makes Liu a representative of China’s young dancer-choreographers. In A Place, he matches unforgettable memories with our complicated, ever-changing world today to create an imaginative and thought-provoking work.

MeimageDance 由被譽為「創造超現實想像高手」的中生代編舞家何曉玫於 2010 年創立，並擔任舞團藝術總監，創團精神標示著作 品反映舞蹈與視覺文化的特殊風格。2014 年，何氏更憑《親愛的》入選台灣當代藝術大獎「台新藝術獎」。

除致力於個人舞蹈視覺風格的開發及創作之外，自 2011 年始，舞團推出「鈕扣計劃」，以旅外舞者為主要邀請對象，回國逐年創作與 演出，並交換國際經驗，透過這樣的交叉養成，培養兼具職業經驗與獨立性格的編舞人才。

台灣新編

「鈕扣計劃 2014」八月先後在台北及高雄上演，當中張藍勻（前城市當代舞蹈團舞者）和李貞葳（以色列巴西瓦舞團舞者）兩位舞者 的創作，將聯同何曉玫的新作〈假裝〉一同來港，展現台灣當代舞者的獨特語境。 MeimageDance is established in 2010 by Ho Hsiao-mei, who is also the company's artistic director, with the vision to create works that project the uniqueness of dance and visual culture. In 2014, Ho’s My Dear is selected by "Taishin Arts Award".

In addition to the exploration of personal artistic path, Ho started the “New Choreographer” project in 2011, inviting Taiwanese dancers that are dancing aboard to choreograph a work at home each year in collaboration with Taiwanese brands and designers. It becomes a platform where new choreographers explore sentiments for their homeland in their dance-making.

This December, MeimageDance is bringing three works to Limelight Taiwan – works by choreographers Chang Lan-yun (former dancer of CCDC) and Lee Chen-wei (dancer of Batsheva Dance Company) from “New Choreographer 2014”, and Camouflage, the latest creation by Ho Hsiao-mei. 演出 Performance

Dance Photography by 陳德昌舞蹈攝影展 Ringo Chan 35 rare photographs, 35 scenes of Hong Kong's contemporary dance journey. 三十五年前，CCDC 於香港藝術中心壽臣劇場呈獻舞團首部作品《尺足》；三十五年後， 當時香港第一代職業舞者、現任舞團副藝術總監陳德昌回到藝術中心展出歷年來的舞蹈 攝影作品，重遊舊地。 陳氏自 80 年代加入舞團成為全職舞者開始，便熱心投入表演藝術的攝影工作，加上豐 富的舞台經驗，成為本港數一數二的舞蹈攝影師，捕捉三十多年來舞台上下舞者的姿影。 是次展覽將展示三十五幀由陳氏精心挑選的相片，呈現過去舞台上精彩的瞬間，或舞台 下舞者絕美的舞姿，反映了陳氏的生活和舞蹈相互緊扣。三十五個舞蹈時刻，是紀錄， 是藝術，也是生活。

Hong Kong Contemporary Dance History in the Past 50 Years 由上世紀六七十年代舞蹈家陳天麟、吳景麗等開始，至 1979 年 CCDC 成立，到今日花開遍地的景象，讓我們 一起回顧香港當代舞半世紀的發展。 Hong Kong contemporary dance history can be traced back to 1960s with dance artists Chen Tian-lin and Julie Ng, followed by the establishment of CCDC in 1979. Every footstep led to the flourishing dance scene today. Let's review the development of Hong Kong contemporary dance in the past 50 years together.

Thirty-five years ago, CCDC made its debut at the Shouson Theatre inside the Hong Kong Arts Centre with Yards and Yards of Feet. Thirty-five years later, CCDC’s Assistant Artistic Director Ringo Chan has curated a dance photography exhibition at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, revisiting how everything started and celebrating the Company’s 35th anniversary.

Chan joined CCDC as the first generation of professional dancers in the 1980s. With his dancer’s acumen, he became a sought-after photographer celebrated for his ability to capture the essence of performance, documenting dancers and dance productions on and off stage for 30 years. A group of 35 dance-related photographs selected by Chan will be on display, from breath-taking moments on stage to dancers’ virtuoso movements.

The series also reflects on the intimate relation between Chan and dance. 35 moments – they are record, art but also life.
