CC Biker & Motorsports 5th Annual Clawson’s Veterans Moto Ride 2023 Gary Roberts
Road Captain of Sword & Shield Riders Clovis, CA Chapter CMA
The 5th Annual Clawson’s Veterans Moto Ride was recently held on Saturday November 4th , 2023, and I was honored to have been a part of this awesome gathering! Over 400 motorcycles (and some trikes) participated in this year’s event to benefit Wreaths Across America and other important fundraising groups helping veterans in any way they can. The event started with registration, followed by a pancake breakfast hosted by a local Lions Club group. At about 10:00am, the riders were all called together to honor our country and our veterans who
have served and sacrificed for our freedoms as a nation. A local group of an enlisted military branch did a Presenting of the Colors (flags), all sang along to the National Anthem and most importantly, a heartfelt prayer was given over our veterans, our nation and over the participating riders about soon to set off on our journey. We then went to our respective Iron Horses, fired them up and awaited our section to be released on our way, riding as one in a very large pack of brothers and sisters on a mission. As is customary, the Combat Vets Association group and other Veterans groups / clubs led the procession to our first destination, Mono Wind Casino in Auberry. We travelled a different route this year, heading up Highway
41 north, taking Road 200 east (Oneals scenic route), then hanging a right at Road 222 (Powerhouse Road), down through Kerckhoff Lake and winding our way into Auberry to have a nice lunch at Mono Wind Casino. This year’s route was less crowded groupwise, as smaller groups naturally formed due to traffic patterns on the busy roads.
riding with our dear friends on our journey together. The biker community is the absolute best, genuine, and friendliest group of people one could ever encounter. As we finished up lunch, we then headed down to Jackson’s Roadhouse to cool off and fellowship with some more nice people we met there as the event was winding down. We met a great number of new I truly cherish these times of people at this years’ gathering, some from out of state Moto Ride Continued on page 9 and many locals, besides
