Biker Needs Help Poker Run

Richard Tilley Owner/editor

Around the beginning of June 2020, I was contacted by Kristine Berg and ask if there was a way that we could put together a Poker Run to raise Funds for the Hathon Family. Stephen Hathon is dealing with Stage 4 Cancer. Of Course, my answer was Yes, CC Biker and Motorsports Newspaper would love to be a Co-Host to help this man and family out. I knew with the weather starting to get hot it was going to be a hard one to put together and get folks to show up, but we like a challenge anyways. We worked together with quite a few folks to figure out when and where to go. I kicked around a few ideals and decide that we should start up in the foothills above Fresno. So I thought why not start at G’ma and Pappas Biker Apparel Store in Coarsegold, Ca. The owner Mitchell is a long time Biker and a big Supporter in his Community, and I figured why not go around the Lake and End up at Stonehouse Tavern. Stonehouse Tavern is a nice place up in Auberry, they have a big patio area to host all the Bikers and others who come out to support a great cause. Everything seemed to be on track for a great Event and then we get the bad news that our Governor wants to Close more Businesses in California again. No more indoor dining……… Well that sure put a damper on things. The Staff at Stonehouse was working hard to find a way we can still do the Event. We figured if we closed the Restaurant and only had outdoor dining, we would be within the guidelines laid out by the State. We would have to bring I Porta Potties since the inside of Stonehouse would be closed.

to Potter’s Porta Potties whom I already have service with. After talking to a few folks, Johnnie Davis my Rep, contacted me and had it worked out that Potter’s Porta Potties would donate the use of 2 units we just had to pay the taxes. So we thought we were all good. A few days Later I was informed that Stonehouse would not be able to Host this event without causing harm to them and their License put into Jeopardy. So now time to scrabble and find a new place. Once we had a place secured, we went We called around looking at pric- ahead and pushed for folks to ing and was like damn, this is join us still. We did not announce going to take a lot of funds. So where were we going to not take I decided to post on Facebook a chance of having any more and see if we can get some help problems. with this. After lots of posts and Well on Saturday July 11th, we ideals. I reached out to a number did just that. We all gathered at I was giving. Not realizing it was G’ma and Pappas Biker Apparel

Motorsports Newspaper would wear some of the Bling for an hour. Christifer Curtis donated 3 bracelets that we were able to get $100.00 a piece for each one. That is pretty awesome for such a small crowd to raise that much and I want to Thank All Who Attending in Person and with the Online Bidding. It was an Honor to be able to help Kristine out and raise $1121.00 to help the Hathron family with expenses for medical costs and such. This is the kind of things that the Biker Community does for others and Us at CC Biker and Motorsports Newspaper feel Honor to have helped make this happen. Thanks to Each and Every One of you that helped us make this happen….. special Thanks to the spot we ended up. Thank You guys, band was playing, and the Food was awesome God Bless America !!!!! __________________________
