ell it has not been an easy road, but we made it. Welcome to the 37th issue of CC BIKER and MOTORSPORTS. Three years and counting thanks to all of you, it could not have been done without your support and advice. I am just amazed by all the new family and friends we have made in three short years. THANK YOU!

Bikers, until a company I was working for bought a biker publication. I was sent to scout biker locations and learn what they were about. I was warned to “be careful” at a few places I visited, but when I got there, I was amazed by how friendly folks were. They offered me food, drinks and lots of conversation. Since I am not a biker, I wasn’t expecting such a warm welcome. I thought if this is the “rough group” then I was completely wrong about Bikers. I made it my mission to let people know how friendly, and family oriented most of these folks are. Right before I launched CC Biker and Motorsports, I went on my very first Motorcycle event (February 6th, 2016). The Sierra Shadow Casters MC, invited me to ride along with them on their monthly Breakfast Ride. I drove my car since I don’t own a bike. Since that day we have become like family. I feel so blessed that they invited me, knowing I am not a Biker, but rather an Advocate for Bikers. That day set the tone for what was about to come.

We have had so much fun attending various Biker Runs, Sprint Car Racing, Stock Car Racing, Dirt Track Racing, Sand Drags, Concerts, and lots of fundraisers. It’s cool to see folks from different types of motorsports come together to support one another and the local community as well. That’s the way it is supposed to be, support your neighbors and have some good family fun while doing what you enjoy. As the publisher of CC Biker and Motorsports Newspaper, I associate with upwards of 30 Motorcycle Clubs and riding groups, not to mention numerous independent riders. There is so much diversity within the biker community as far as who they are, what they stand for and things they do. There is one common thread though, and that’s their love of the open road and doing good things for people. I am so blessed to be invited to so many events throughout the Central Valley and Sierra foothills. I was a bit leery about working with

work with Valley Children’s hospital which is well known for taking care of kids regardless of the parent’s ability to pay. Funds raised by the biker community helps to assure Valley Children’s hospital can continue to help kids who need assistance.

Most Motorcycle Poker Runs are typically organized to raise money to help others. A lot of Runs support Veterans’ groups which is amazing. Quite a few

We try and keep the biker community informed about upcoming events, where they are and what the Ride or Run is about. Our Readers really appreciate this service. Often, we will get a story about how the event went. Groups are always welcome to send us their post event stories. From March to October I attend some type of motorsport event every weekend. There are usually several events going on, so I try and hit new ones plus attended the ones I know have drawn a large crowd or is raising money for some great cause

I soon learned biggest part of all bikers’ credo is Respect for one another, something I understood since that was how

I was raised. Give Respect until they show they do not deserve it and then just cut them out of your life and be happy.

welcomes bikers with open arms.

CC Biker covers a huge area from Bakersfield to Mariposa. We have upwards of 700 locations where you can stop and grab a copy of the newspaper. Its popularity is astounding as evidenced by the fact that out of 25,000 newspapers distributed the pickup rate (papers left on stands) is roughly 0.8% or about 200, a clear signal that folks like what we are doing. Most free papers have a 15% pickup rate. All businesses listed in CC Biker are Biker Friendly, that is the main criteria to be in CC Biker. Approximately 95% of our advertisers are Bikers themselves. Among other things we are an Information Guide to let you know which local Businesses are Biker Friendly and who

I sure as heck don’t make a living wage with CC Biker and Motorsports (for now) but I do get to attend events free of charge which is a nice perk – definitely helps keep the costs down so we can attend and promote more events. Newspaper 3rd Anniversary Continued on page 3
