A MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN
Learning is a lifelong journey, a continuous path of discovery that empowers us to grow and adapt in an ever-changing world. It’s more than just gaining knowledge; it’s about embracing new challenges, expanding our perspectives, and unlocking our full potential. Every step we take to learn something new, whether in a formal classroom or through personal exploration, enriches our lives in profound ways.
I’ve experienced this firsthand throughout my own life. My passion for lifelong learning has guided me from the discipline of competitive running to the satisfaction of tackling home improvement projects. Each pursuit has offered unique lessons and broadened my understanding.
Running, for instance, taught me the immense power of perseverance and the reward of consistent effort. Crossing the finish line of my first half-marathon wasn’t just a physical accomplishment; it instilled in me a mindset of pushing boundaries and celebrating every milestone. More recently, diving into home improvement has revealed the joy of practical application, the satisfaction of seeing a vision come to life, and the enduring value of working with one’s hands.
These experiences underscore a fundamental truth: there is always something new to explore, a new skill to master, or a new passion to ignite. Our continuing education courses at the Community College of Beaver County are designed precisely for this purpose. We aim to fuel your curiosity, cultivate your talents, and provide pathways for personal and professional growth.
This Fall, I invite you to embody the spirit of “Create.Connect.Cultivate.” Create new opportunities by exploring experiences that call to you. Connect with others as you soar to new heights in your personal and professional endeavors. And cultivate the unique, evolving individual you are meant to be. The journey of lifelong learning is an adventure, and there’s no better time to embark on it than now.
Let’s learn and grow together.
Scott Monit Dean, School of Industrial Technology & Continuing Education Community College of Beaver County
