Minutes for the CCBA Board of Trustees Meeting June 4, 2024
Called to order 12:08 p.m. Hawke, Melnick, Larson, Petersen, Sutanto, Busby, Phelan, and Executive Director Darco
May 7, 2024 board meeting minutes: Motion to Approve (Petersen / Hawke) Approved
Treasurer’s Report (Melnick): Financials prepared for board to review. Still in the black, but barely. Hope to have income from the Summer Soiree and new/renewed memberships. Typically lose money monthly this time of year due to the revenue cycle. Want to be a Summer Soiree sponsor? Get in touch with Lisa Darco
Ongoing Action Items
Committee Reports:
Hearsay Committee (Hawke): As usual, lots of great content is in the works. The committee is meeting this week. The next Hearsay issue is coming out soon.
Social Committee (Phelan, Darco): Bowling with the Judges is coming up. Registration is open for the golf tournament. You don’t have to be a golfer; you can pay the fee and come hang out. The Summer Soiree menu will be “killer” and the band is already havinng jam sessions.
CLE Committee (Busby): The committee is meeting tomorrow. 40 people registered so far for Commissioner Ellis’ Child Support CLE
DEI Committee (Wechselblatt): no updates
Membership Committee (Petersen): Nathan will be present to sign people up for memberships at the judicial candidate forum. An email was sent to nonmembers with upcoming CCBA events.

Department 12 Bar Poll: June 19th is application deadline; June 24th deadline for applicants to submit statement; June 25th “Voters Pamphlet” distributed to CCBA members; June 27th applicant Forum held; July 1st CCBA bar poll sent to members; July 8th 4:00 poll return deadline; July 9th count/verify; July 9th release results in the afternoon
