Well, this is officially my last President’s Message. By the time you read this, I will have turned over the reins to the very capable Whitney Hawke and will simply be lurking in the background of CCBA Board Meetings as Immediate Past President. This transition couldn’t have come at a better time, as I am expecting a baby in October. As I move on to new adventures as a mother of two and take a small step back from the legal community for a few months, I am very grateful to have been able to serve you all as President for the last year. I am especially grateful for the wonderful Board I have been able to work with: Whitney, Ben Melnick, LeAnn Larson, Erica Acquadro, Deb Wechselblatt, Owen Sutanto, and Jesse Jacobs. And of course, I never would have survived this year or appeared competent as President at all without the wonderful Lisa Darco assisting me at every step.

I really do love this organization and the things we accomplish every year. In particular, I have such a deep appreciation for all of the social events we are able to put on, which bring members of our community together to interact in a non-adversarial forum. It is always so much fun to get to know one another through activities and laughter and food/ beverages, and our social events really highlight just how special the members of the Clark County legal community are. So while I may not be in charge of the Bar any longer, you will always find me on the CCBA Social Committee and wandering around the Barristers Ball or Summer Soiree.

Thanks to everyone who put up with me for the last year. Whitney, you’re up…
