Independent arrivals to Frankfurt. Check-in to hotel. This afternoon, continue to Goethe University?s Institute for the History and Ethics of Medicine to see Mengele?s M.D. dissertation. Overnight in Frankfurt.

Morning briefing/scholar lectures at hotel. Visit the town of Hadamar and the Hadamar Euthanasia Centre. Late afternoon, continue to Nuremberg. Overnight in Nuremberg.
DAY FOUR - WEDNESDAY, M AY 3, 2017

Morning briefing/scholar lectures at hotel. Visit the Memorium Nuremberg Trials at the Palace of Justice, Reichsparteitagsgelände, the Nazi party rally grounds, and the Documentation Centre. Overnight in Munich.
Fly to Krakow. After lunch continue to Auschwitz I for a guided tour and Lecture on Medicine in Auschwitz including a visit to Block 10. Overnight in Auschwitz
DAY SIX - FRIDAY, M AY 5, 2017
AUSCHWITZ/ KRAKOW -
Morning briefing/scholar lectures at hotel. Visit Auschwitz II (Birkenau) and Lecture on Euthanasia. Travel by bus to Krakow. Enjoy Kabbalat Shabbat services at a local synagogue and dinner at the Jewish Community Centre of Krakow. Overnight in Krakow.
DAY SEVEN - SATURDAY, M AY 6, 2017

Attend Shabbat services together at a local synagogue. Tour Krakow, beginning with Wawel Castle and Cathedral. Walk along the famous Grodzka Street and visit Gothic Cloth Hall. Hear about Jagiellonian University and visit Kazimierz. enter the famous Old Remuh Synagogue. Then onto the Old Synagogue, the Galacia Jewish Museum and the progressive Temple Synagogue. End the day with a visit to the museum at Schindler 's factory and the memorial erected where Krakow-Plaszow concentration camp formerly stood. Debriefing following city tour. Group Farewell dinner

Sh eldon Ru ben f eld Sheldon Rubenfeld, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.E., is Clinical Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, Clinical Professor of Nursing at the University of Texas School of Nursing in Houston, and a Fellow in the American College of Endocrinology. Dr. Rubenfeld is the founding chairman of the Center for Medicine After the Holocaust, whose mission is to challenge doctors, nurses, and bioscientists to personally confront the medical ethics of the Holocaust and apply that knowledge to contemporary practice and research. Among other activities, the Center hosts a biennial trip to European medical sites relevant to the Holocaust, and is preparing a documentary about medicine and the Holocaust.
