In fact, the community understood that by flying helicopters from Monterey to Post Ranch Inn, we were putting people back to work, not just at Post Ranch Inn, but at Nepenthe and the Hawthorne Gallery, who also decided to reopen on April 20. I thought back to Billy Post’s

San Clemente Located on the California coast midway between Los Angeles and San Diego, the city of San Clemente is blessed with a mild Mediterranean climate, outstanding vistas and a well-educated population of 64,542 (2013). An early master-planned community with distinctive Spanish Colonial-style architecture, San Clemente is perhaps best known as the location of the vacation home of President Richard Nixon, which he called La Casa Pacifica, but which came to be known as the Western White House. Sparse settlements of the Juaneño people dotted the landscape for thousands of years before the missionaries arrived in 1776. Once Father Junipero Serra established Mission San Juan Capistrano, the mission became a hub for settlers, and small villages cropped up along the coast.
