PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE New Year, New Opportunities As I stated in my message to you earlier this month, every new year brings new opportunities. And 2019 is certainly no exception, as several noteworthy changes may impact your business. As the new year gets underway, the real estate market is poised to look a little different than it has for the past several years. We expect modest inventory gains and home prices to flatten and become more stable in 2019, giving buyers more choices. In addition, the Federal Reserve has indicated it will take a wait-and-see approach on interest rate hikes after raising rates four times in 2018. So, for now, rates remain favorable, which helps boost affordability and may give potential buyers more reasons to purchase a home. On a personal note, after working in the real estate business for 42 years, I have decided that 2019 is a good time for me to step away and spend more time with my family. When I retire at the end of this month, I will leave the leadership of this great company in excellent hands.
