ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Abfhn, known formally as Nathaniel Hao, is a guitarist, producer, and creator born in Whittier, CA. Growing up in Dallas, TX and then moving to the Philippines for 13 years before moving back to California to study music at California Baptist University, Nathan has grown up with a wide variety of cultures, lifestyles, and music in his life. Having grown up in a country with a fairly limited and different music scene from what he wanted to do, Nathan moved back to the US to hone his skill in math and progressive rock guitar with the end goal of cultivating a successful career implementing his creative and technical skills into the progressive and J-Pop music scenes no matter how challenging or difficult it may be and to hopefully one day inspire other to do the same. Since enrolling in CBU, he has taken an affinity with a multitude of genres and styles, however, his primary genre is Progressive/Math Rock guitar music, taking inspiration from the likes of Tim Henson and Plini. He has also been inspired to implement these skills into JPop and funk music.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey in any way, shape, or form. I thank God for the opportunity to be in the position to pursue music as a career, and I acknowledge that I would be nowhere near where I am today if it was not for Him. I thank my parents for all their care and provision to allow me to pursue my passions in life. Without their love and support, I may not have even chosen to become a musician in the first place. I thank all my friends and family for encouraging me each day to push forward to become better, both as a musician and as a human being. I also thank my instructors, professors, and mentors for giving their time to educate. I have learned so much and plan to continue learning as time moves on. Lastly, I thank all the great people that I have connections to in the music industry. To every kind soul that has taken a chance with me to work with me or even have a simple conversation at NAMM or online, I am very grateful to you and wish you all the best on your musical journeys.
