ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Kyle Derksen is an American music producer, songwriter, and keyboard player. As a producer, Kyle has a mind for organization and tenacity, striving to bring people together to create awesome music. In the studio, he loves to direct artists and musicians to bring out the best in them. Outside the recording studio, he also enjoys mixing and mastering. But by far Kyle’s favorite work in the home studio is creating lofi. He has released four lofi singles so far and plans to compile a lofi album in the near future. As a songwriter, Kyle tends to deviate from the simplicity of modern pop to build chord structures that are (in his opinion) far more interesting. He draws inspiration from genres like jazz, gospel and soul to infuse into his lofi and worship writing. When dabbling in lyrics, he desires to write truth, expressing messages that ultimately point to God instead of ourselves. Kyle has written and produced the single Not Mine, featuring artist nirah as vocalist - as well as four lofi songs, all of which you will hear today. He has arranged and produced several lofi covers of popular worship hymns to be released in the future, and produced Santorini’s album “Abide in Me,” as well as mixing and mastering all eight songs on the album.

I firstly want to thank my family, who has supported me in my music journey longer than anyone else. I want to thank all my music friends for collaborating with me and inspiring me - specifically, I want to thank my engineer Chris Edwards who has helped me on countless projects, and my friend Santorini Snead for writing and singing on so many projects I’ve worked on. I want to thank my closest friends who have never ceased to encourage me forward and push me towards Christ. Most importantly, I want to thank God, who gave me the gift of music; without his handiwork I wouldn’t be able to accomplish any of this, and it only makes sense for me to give it all back to him.
