Professor Reed is the Integrative Nutrition Program Director at California Baptist University. Professor Reed holds an MS in Nutritional Science and finished her dietetic internship from California State University in 2018. Professor Reed is completing her PhD in Global Health Promotion and Education with a dissertation surrounding lactation cultural beliefs and practices.

Prior to providing her full-time service to California Baptist University, Professor Reed served as the Director of Nutrition and Dietetics for the southwest region of the Navajo reservation, section 638 facilities. Professor Reed holds strong inpatient and outpatient clinical and community experience as a Registered Dietitian, providing aid to underserved communities. She has been a noted leader in advocating for program development in the fight against food insecurity within her previously served organization. Professor Reed began her academic career providing adjunct instruction for California Baptist University, Fullerton Junior College and Northern Arizona University in both nutritional science and public health.

Her heart for her students and her focus on integrating their pursuit of Jesus is evident through her teachings. Throughout her schooling, Professor Reed served alongside nonprofit organizations in global missions. Professor Reed aims to encourage students’ passion for nutrition and teach them how the power of nutrition may be used to practically exemplify Christ’s love in the medical field, both locally and abroad.

Degree Requirements

Application for admission with a $45 application fee.

Official transcript from an accredited college or university reflecting the completion of a baccalaureate degree.

2.75 or last 60/90 unit GPA. Additional opportunities may be available for a student to overcome an unsatisfactory GPA

Written statement of purpose OR in-person/virtual program interview (student’s choice). Written statement (500-word maximum) or interview will address:

• What are your educational goals?

• How will this program help meet those goals?

• What makes you a good fit for CBU?
