A: I choose to study Healthcare Administration at CBU for its reputable program, faculty expertise, opportunities for practical experience and alignment with their career goals in the healthcare industry. Q: What is the most rewarding about working in your industry or specific job role? A: One of the most rewarding aspects of working in the healthcare industry is the opportunity to positively impact people’s lives by improving their health outcomes, providing care and support during challenging times and contributing to the overall well-being of individuals and communities.

Faculty Spotlight Ashley Parks, Dr. P.H.
Associate Professor of Public Health Science
Dr. Ashley Parks has worked in healthcare for the last fifteen years with experience in hospital and health plan administration, academia, and research. Her areas of interest and expertise include healthcare quality, performance improvement, finance, information technology, health services research, and project management. Dr. Parks has varied research interests ranging from community- based participatory research to air quality to applying ethical models in healthcare. Parks received her Doctorate in Public Health degree in Health Services Leadership from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. She also received a Master’s in Technology Management from Georgetown University as well as her MBA. Professional education and mentorship are Dr. Parks’ passions, as she enjoys working with students to craft their career strategies and create individual development plans helping them become more competitive in the employment market upon graduation. Dr. Parks herself has multiple certifications in healthcare and public health, including the Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES), Certification in Public Health (CPH), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Professional Patient Safety (CPPS), Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (CLSSBB), Project Management Professional (PMP) and more. If you have questions about specific continuing education opportunities, certifications, or advanced education, she would love to share her experiences and learn about your interests as a student. Dr. Parks looks forward to getting to know each student and their unique career interests and personalities as part of our learning community.

Admissions Requirements Application for admission with a $45 application fee Official transcript from an accredited college or university reflecting the completion of a baccalaureate degree. 2.75 or last 60/90 unit GPA. Additional opportunities may be available for a student to overcome an unsatisfactory GPA. Written statement of purpose OR in-person/virtual program interview (student’s choice). Written statement (500-word maximum) or interview will address: - What are your educational goals? - How will this program help meet those goals? - What makes you a good fit for CBU? Additional requirements may be requested
