This recital is presented under the direction of Dr. JinHee Kim in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the B.M. in Music Education.

ARTIST

Mariela Castro is a violinist based in Ontario, California. She began playing violin at age nine through her school’s music program and performed in local ensembles throughout middle school and high school. Mariela loved playing, so she chose to pursue a double major in Music Education and Instrumental Performance at CBU. She has had many performance opportunities across Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, and most recently, Italy. She looks forward to student teaching in the fall to earn her Outside of school, Mariela teaches violin and keyboard at a local studio serves on her church’s worship and kids ministry team. Her future aspirations include teaching middle school and pursuing a master’s degree in music education.

COLLABORATIVE ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Moon serves as Director of Orchestral Studies for the Collinsworth School of Performing Arts at California Baptist University, where he leads the artistic and educational vision of the orchestral program. Under his direction, the CBU Symphony Orchestra presents performances spanning symphonic masterworks, opera, and musical theatre, providing students with professionallevel experiences that integrate artistry, pedagogy, and outreach. Additionally, he serves as conductor of the Riverside City College Symphony Orchestra, the premier community college orchestra program in Southern California.
