ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Hannah Gordon is a pianist and clarinetist from Green Valley, Arizona. She began her piano studies at the age of 9 with Paulette Albertson. As a pianist she has participated in the Tucson Music Teachers Association (TMTA) ensemble and was placed on the front honor piano many times. She is also a collegiate member of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT) and volunteered at the CAPMT conference in 2024. She also recently completed a summer internship with Desert Springs Presbyterian Church where she served as the main church pianist and music director. At California Baptist University, she has studied under Dr. Elizabeth Rebozo, Dr. Barry Tan, Dr. Andres Jaramillo, and Dr. Evelyn Lee under whose instruction she continues to flourish as an expressive pianist.

She was inspired to play clarinet after seeing a clarinet solo in an orchestra. She begged her parents for a clarinet and received one for her 12th birthday. She started teaching herself out of the Essential Elements book and played with her church choir and orchestra. At CBU, she is active in many ensembles including the CBU Wind Ensemble, University Choir and Orchestra, and Symphonic Band and currently studies with Dan St. Marsielle. Despite learning piano first, she enjoys both instruments equally and considers them both her primary instrument. She hopes to become a middle school or high school band director and have her own private studio teaching clarinet and piano.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I want to express my deepest thanks to my instructors Dr. Evelyn Lee and Dr. Andres Jaramillo for supporting me throughout this process. To my mom, Dominicke Gordon, for being my biggest cheerleader and encouraging my love of music in every stage of my life and my whole family who have always been there for all my music making. And to my dearest friends, without whom my life would be significantly less joyful and who inspire me to be better every single day. And finally, but certainly not least to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who has brought me this far by His grace alone.
