Behind the scenes, CBN’s Operation Blessing teams were already at work—partnering with local churches and medical professionals, identifying children in critical need, arranging pre-operative exams, coordinating surgeons and hospital space, and covering costs families could never pay on their own. A STRATEGIC PLAN
This daring mission began when CBN International Vice President Ben Edwards saw the desperate plight of Iranians oppressed by their government and disillusioned with Islam. CBN Founder Pat Robertson, Gordon Robertson, and the Board of Directors quickly decided to take action.
Although Christianity is prohibited, CBN devised a high-tech strategy to bypass closed doors and deliver the Good News directly into Iranian living rooms. All across that nation, people own satellite dishes for news and entertainment. So in 2006, CBN launched a satellite channel called Mohabat—Farsi for “love.” And ever since, CBN’s Heart4Iran programs have aired 24/7 via satellite and webcast, reaching out to millions through your generosity.
EVANGELISM AND DISCIPLESHIP
Because Iranians can’t openly attend church, Heart4Iran programs teach about the Bible, the Christian walk, and how to hold worship services in underground house churches.
CBN Animation’s Superbook is especially popular with children and their families. With your help, episodes have been translated so that Gizmo, Chris, Joy, and all the Bible characters speak fluent Farsi.
Key to the entire ministry is a Heart4Iran prayer center that viewers can call, text, or email if they need prayer or have questions about the Christian faith. Farsispeaking agents are trained to deal with trauma, and they return calls from Iran using scrambled signals that are hard to trace.
In just 20 years, over 650,000 calls
have been received, with more than 240,000 people praying for salvation!
CHANGED LIVES
Maria, a young girl in Tehran, is one of those callers. Due to family problems, she was severely depressed and thinking of suicide. One night, she dreamed about a mysterious man who said, “You are chosen and you are mine. Do not hurt yourself!” She asked, “Who are you?” He replied, “I am Jesus.”
Intrigued, Maria discovered Superbook on Mohabat TV and contacted our prayer center to give her life to the Lord. Now she describes herself as the happiest person alive, with deep peace in her heart.
The world’s fastest-growing Christian population is in Iran today, with estimates of about 1 million believers. The primary way they hear the Gospel is through satellite TV—and you have been there, shining a bright beacon of hope and truth across a dark land. You’re also providing digital Bibles to help believers grow in their faith. CBN has also been broadcasting into Afghanistan in the Dari language. And over the years, we’ve extended into Tajikistan—airing a limited amount of content in Tajik.
FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS
As Frontlines goes to press, the situation in Iran is deteriorating. Refugees are coming across the Armenian border, where CBN’s Operation Blessing is ready to meet them with love and care. The needs are great—and through your compassion, you are helping to meet them.
In a fascinating parallel to biblical events, the joint U.S.-Israeli attacks coincided with the holiday of Purim. It commemorates how Esther, a young Jewish woman, was chosen to be queen of Persia—now Iran.
A wicked official named Haman planned to massacre all the Jews, like the modern-day ayatollahs threatened. Realizing that God made her queen for such a time as this (see Esther 4:14), she stepped out in faith to save her people.
Today, God has placed CBN partners in a position of remarkable influence in Iran—for such a time as this. Your ongoing support is greatly appreciated as we redouble our efforts to share His love with these long-suffering people.

I love driving. While I think often of family road trips, one thing I don’t think about is my licensing ceremony. Even though I rarely recall that event, I would not be able to drive at all if not for that day. The same can be true for marriage, military service, or even being awarded a ceremonious honor. Much of what happens afterward does not cause us to relive such ceremonies. They’re just entryways through which we can begin to exist in a new state.
Sometimes, though, it’s good to return to those entryways. I drive differently now than I did after my licensing ceremony. I have far greater comfort and confidence. I don’t drive with the anxiety I used to. But there are times when I don’t observe everything that’s around me. There are times when I’m distracted. During times like that, it would be good to remember how the judge impressed upon me that driving is a great and serious responsibility.
On the straight and narrow road Jesus paved, we exist in a new state of redemption. We have more comfort with the Spirit, more confidence in speaking to and about God, and less anxiety. We’re not constantly wondering, “Am I doing this right?” But if we grow unobservant or distracted—or become unsure of where to go, Paul gives us these directions that hearken back to when we first made our declaration of faith: Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12 NLT ).

Is it wrong to ask God to help you fi nd something you’ve misplaced?
Not at all—God cares about every detail of your life. He knows all things, and He is more than able to show you where something is. My mother once had a charm bracelet go missing. She prayed, and later it was simply there in her jewelry box again.
It was so unexpected that she believed God had sent an angel to pick it up from wherever it was and put it back where it belonged.
So, is it okay to ask God for help like that? Yes, it’s more than okay. In fact, I encourage it. The Bible says God numbers the very hairs on your head (see Luke 12:7), which means nothing about you is too small for His attention.
He doesn’t want you to be frustrated or anxious, wondering if something is lost forever. He wants to be with you in the everyday moments—reminding you that He is actively caring for you.

THE POWERFUL TENDERNESS OF GOD
My mother once told me that the most fulfilling thing she ever did in her life was to have children. Each one was unique. Each one was especially loved. When you see a mother cradling a baby in her arms, it’s a picture of how tenderly God loves us.
In Isaiah 49:15-16, God asks and answers this question: “Can a mother forget her nursing child?Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you! See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.”
David writes in Psalm 32:7, For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory. This is affirmed in Zephaniah 3:17, “For the LORD … will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
Psalm 103:3-4 says, He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
God takes joy in us. He sings songs of deliverance over us. He wants to protect, heal, forgive, and save us. Like utterly dependent newborns, we can rely upon Him as the answer to every human need.
Jesus loves you so much that He gave His life just for you. And Romans 8:38 promises, Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.
His love is not just tender; it’s the most powerful force in the universe. When we understand that no powers or principalities in heaven or on earth can ever stand in His way, we can have miracles. For Romans 8:37 assures us that despite any obstacles, we are more than conquerors—why?—because of Christ’s overwhelming love for us.
