YOUR GLOBAL IMPACT

LOOK AT WHAT YOU ARE DOING AROUND THE WORLD!

VIETNAM

• Born into a family that did not believe in God, 8-year-old Danh lacked joy in his life. But after accepting an invitation to a local church, he began learning about the Bible through CBN Animation’s Superbook and gave his life to Christ. He later brought his father along, who received Jesus as his Lord and Savior during a Sunday service.

NIGERIA

• In 2024, CBN Nigeria earned two prestigious awards. One of them was Best AI/Animation for a localized version of a Superbook episode. Another was Best Entertainment TV Show for 700 Club Nigeria . Both honors were bestowed by Nigeria Electronic Media Content Exhibition & Awards—the nation’s leading platform for TV, radio, and media content. It is our prayer that these accolades continue to engage viewers through Christ-centered programming.

INVISIBLE NO MORE

Discover how you’re unlocking the future for children like Sakhna

Imagine being 12 years old, struggling to read, afraid to speak, and constantly haunted by fear. That was Sakhna’s reality. Moving from place to place left gaps in her education, and her shyness made her feel invisible. At night she lay awake, terrified of spirits she believed were watching her.

But then, everything changed—because of compassionate supporters like you. Through CBN’s School of Life program, Sakhna received the education she desperately needed. Caring teachers helped her catch up in reading and math, and for the first time she gained the confidence to speak up in class. More important, she learned about Jesus. As she grew in faith, the fears that had once paralyzed her disappeared.

Because of the heartfelt love and generous support of CBN partners, children like Sakhna are experiencing hope, healing, and transformation.

TRANSFORMING TRAGEDY INTO HOPE

CBN partners deliver aid and care to victims of disaster

When disaster strikes, it often leaves behind utter devastation—shattering lives and dreams. But thanks to the unwavering support of friends like you, CBN’s Operation Blessing is able to quickly bring life-changing relief to those in desperate need. Whether it’s wildfires in California, floods in Brazil, or hurricanes in North Carolina, your generosity is turning heartbreak into healing.

CBN partners make it possible to rush emergency food, clean water, medical care, and aid to survivors. With each act of kindness, you provide hope and an opportunity for families to rebuild their lives.

As Proverbs 19:17 (niv) reminds us, Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done. Your faithfulness enables us to be there for people in their darkest moments.

FROM DEVASTATION TO RESTORATION: ANDRÉ’S STORY

When massive floods swept through Brazil, André lost everything—including his home and business. “I felt so sad

when I saw my food cart submerged in water,” he said. “It’s the only way I support my family.” Without the ability to work, he didn’t know where to turn. But thanks to Operation Blessing and faithful partners like you, André received the tools and supplies he needed to restart his churro business. “I want to thank the people who helped,” he said gratefully. Your support is restoring livelihoods and lifting families out of despair.

REBUILDING FROM THE ASHES: JANINE’S STORY

Janine, whose picture you can find on the front of this newsletter, was devastated when her community in California was reduced to ashes by deadly wildfires. “It’s not just that you’ve lost a home—you’ve lost your soul and whole reason for living,” she shared with tears in her eyes.

Schools, churches, and cherished gathering places vanished in an instant. Yet in the midst of despair, hope arose. Through a partnership with Bel Air Church, Operation Blessing helped assemble hundreds of boxes filled with food and essential supplies. Janine said, “It’s things like

this that bring people closer to God.” With each box distributed, love and compassion are restoring broken spirits.

A NEW BEGINNING AFTER THE STORM: JIM AND SHIRLEY’S STORY

When Hurricane Helene ravaged North Carolina, Jim and Shirley watched in horror as their home was washed away. Forced to move into an aging mobile home, they soon faced another crisis—winter was coming, and their home had no insulation. “If you don’t have insulation,” Jim said, “you’re in trouble.”

Operation Blessing volunteers arrived with a mission— to insulate their home and make sure they stayed warm throughout the freezing months. Working late into the night, the team not only brought warmth, but also reassurance. “It’s a relief,” Jim shared. “It’s going to help tremendously.”

It’s humbling to watch God move and see how so many people rally to support the work Operation Blessing is doing when so many are hurting.”

Through your generosity, people like Jim and Shirley don’t have to face these challenges alone. Your support enables us to plan and prepare for future disasters—ensuring that when the next crisis strikes, we are ready to bring aid, comfort, and hope.

BEYOND DISASTER RELIEF: YOUR LOVE IN ACTION

Your partnership doesn’t just respond to disasters—it transforms lives every day. You help provide food to the hungry, clean water to the thirsty, medical care to the sick, and the Gospel through Christ-centered TV programming to the lost. Every act of kindness you extend to others restores hope where it’s needed most.

Drew Friedrich, Operation Blessing’s Chief Operating Officer, shared: “It’s humbling to watch God move and see how so many people rally to support the work Operation Blessing is doing when so many are hurting.”

God Uses the Faithful

From the other end of our house, I could hear Dorothy singing, “Oh, what needless pain we bear—all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer” as she did chores. Her joyful presence overflows my early childhood memories.

Prolonged illness prevented my mother from most maternal duties, but God provided Dorothy. She arrived early each weekday, got us up, made breakfast, sent us to school, cared for my mother and our home, and prepared dinner we warmed up at night. If I could turn back time, or if she were still alive, I’d love to wish Dorothy a “Happy Mother’s Day” with a beautiful bouquet. Only later did I grasp her impact on my life. God used her kind, patient nature to plant seeds of His love in my heart. I am eternally grateful.

God often uses His faithfulness to influence children. For me, it was Dorothy. For Samuel, it was Eli. His mother, Hannah, prayed, “If you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime” (1 Samuel 1:11 nlt). She honored her vow, and Eli’s home became the foundation for Samuel’s faith.

Mother’s Day is a time to honor mothers and those who love as mothers. Let’s take time to notice and thank those who have blessed us with nurturing love. We may never know whose heart benefits from our faithfulness to Jesus Christ, but He does. May our joy in the Lord draw others to Him!

Q&A

Can you please explain how to fast and pray?

I hear people repeat the same prayers. Wouldn’t that annoy Jesus?

Jesus teaches that prayer should be thoughtful and sincere, not mindless repetition. In Matthew 6:7, He says: “When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again.” Instead, He encourages heartfelt, meaningful prayers.

Regarding fasting, Jesus assumes His followers will fast, saying in Matthew 6:16-18: “And when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do. … But when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face. Then no one will notice that you are fasting, except your Father, who knows what you do in private. And your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.” There is no set duration. Some people fast for a meal, a day, or longer. The key is to focus on seeking God with a humble heart. For effective prayer, align your words with Scripture and the Holy Spirit, as Ephesians 6:18 says: Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Scripture is quoted from the NLT.
