Welcoming Alisa Latty-Alleyne as the new National Director for the United Kingdom

Iam thrilled to announce a significant transition within our ministry as I welcome Alisa Latty-Alleyne to the role of National Director for the United Kingdom. As Regional Director for Europe, I have appointed Alisa to lead our operations in this vital region. With this appointment, I now direct my focus towards the development of our European and Australasia regions, leaving the United Kingdom in incredibly capable hands.

With this change we have made the decision to have CBN United Kingdom to stand as it’s own identity to focus on the region of England, Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland with a vision to reach into the republic of Ireland in the years ahead. We are excited about these new developments as we seek to reach our new ambitious goal which we will share with you in this issue of Reach Magazine.

Alisa brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to our ministry. Her journey with us began a number of years ago, during which she has served diligently in various capacities, including heading up media, marketing, and our Superbook ministry. Prior to joining our team, Alisa forged an impressive career in the corporate world, specialising in global strategy and change management. She

has led teams across four continents, demonstrating exceptional leadership and organisational skills.

In 2020, Alisa transitioned into ministry, leading the UK and Western Europe community department for CV Global, a digital evangelism ministry who carry a strong desire to serve and equip Christians and local churches in their evangelistic endeavours. Alisa’s dedication to our mission and her track record of success makes her an ideal candidate to lead our efforts in the United Kingdom.

Beyond professional achievements, Alisa possesses an extraordinary personal journey marked by resilience, faith, and unwavering determination. Despite facing adversity, including the loss of her spouse in 2015, Alisa found solace and purpose in her Christian faith. This transformative experience led her to pursue a career in ministry. Her inspiring story not only motivates others to overcome challenges but also underscores the profound impact of faith and following one’s calling.

In addition to her role with us, Alisa serves at Mosaic Church Coventry as

a worship leader. She is married to Carlyle and has a son called Jacob. Her commitment to empowering others aligns seamlessly with our mission of serving and uplifting communities.

As we embark on this new chapter under Alisa’s leadership, we are deeply grateful for our history and where we have come from. We have full confidence that Alisa’s vision, expertise, and unwavering faith will propel us to new heights, enabling us to continue our mission of spreading hope and love throughout the region.

Today, the call for a spiritual revival has never been more urgent. Now more than ever, we need a spiritual shake-up. It’s not just about getting more people to come to church; it’s about bringing a fresh, lively spirit into everyday life, offering comfort, direction, and a place where people really feel like they belong. We’re also looking to fill a gap that’s been left by our modern - often secular - lifestyle, providing a solid set of values and meaning to life. In these fast-changing times, bringing back a bit of spiritual grounding can be a real game-changer, giving people and communities the stability and hope they need to thrive.

In answer to this call and need we’re setting out on an incredible new journey to introduce 1 million people to Jesus, to really understand and live by His teachings. It’s a big dream, and it’s all about making a huge difference in people’s lives, in our communities, and across the UK. This isn’t about counting heads; it’s about real change in people’s hearts and minds. We believe that when someone really wakes up spiritually and starts to change from the inside, it’s not just good for them, it can make our whole society better and give them a hope that lasts forever.

PRODIGALS

WAITING PATIENTLY

I’m sure that we all know someone who, at one time, came to faith and, for numerous reasons, decided to walk away. This could be you. Lost, angry, and struggling to find your identity. Hardened on the outside but hurting so deeply within. The pain of the choices, but also the heartache and severing of the relationships with the people who loved you the most.

In the parable of the Sower in Mark 4:3 -20, we read that a Sower went out to sow seed, which represents the Word of God, and it fell upon four different places.

1. The path and the birds devoured it (v 4).

2. Rocky ground where it did not have much soil (v 5-6).

3. Among thorns that grew and choked it (v 7).

4. Good soil which produced grain that increased and yielded thirty-, sixty- and one-hundred-fold (v 8).

There are many reasons why people choose to walk away from their faith in Jesus, usually through a misunderstanding or hurt, or they lose interest.

We live in a fallen world, and we need to understand that when someone decides to follow Jesus, there is an enemy, Satan, the accuser, who will seek to come immediately and take away the word that is sown in them. He is ruthless and persistent in his pursuit to try and take back a child of God.

The second reason we see is that those seeds sown on the rocky ground have no roots and endure only for a while. Then when difficulties arise on account of the word, they immediately fall away. This is sad because the seed has such potential, but when challenging and difficult times come, they drift and turn

away instead of running to God.

The third reason is that those who hear the word but the cares of the world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter and choke the word, making it unfruitful. How often have you seen these things happen and take place in people’s lives? The cares of this life and seduction of wealth and desire for other things crowd out and choke the Word so that it produces nothing.

As you are reading this and maybe far away from God, a prodigal, I want you to stop and pray for a moment. The Father’s heart is to draw and receive his sons and daughters back into the safety of his arms, which are outstretched, ready to welcome you or your loved one home. This process begins by admitting your need for a Saviour who is waiting patiently for a heart response. For He is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

(2 Peter 3:9 ESV).

Your Kingdom Needs You

In a world filled with distractions and diversions, the call for Christians to share their faith remains a pivotal aspect of their mission. As believers, we are enlisted in a discipleship army, and the urgency to spread the Gospel is a command that echoes through the ages. This sentiment is captured in the iconic World War One recruitment poster, where the rallying cry becomes, “Your Country Needs You.”

Just as soldiers receive their orders from a central command, the Church serves as the place where Christians go to receive their discipleship directives. It is where they gather to equip themselves with the spiritual armour mentioned in Ephesians 6 –the Armour of God – essential for the battle of sharing the Good News.

The Church is not merely a place of worship; it is the training ground for the mission field. Here, believers receive their orders and are deployed into their personal mission fields, armed with faith, love, and the Word of God. The Great Commission, as given by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20, compels Christians to go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

‘Your Kingdom Needs You’ serves as a call to action, inviting believers to join a collective mission. Imagine the impact if one million people found salvation through our shared efforts.

The battle for souls requires strategic planning, and an assembled armour of God which provides the necessary protection and weaponry.

Why are Christians afraid to Share their Faith?

As believers, we hold a precious gift – the Gospel – capable of profoundly changing lives. However, numerous surveys and studies indicate a decline in the UK’s Christian identification and regular church attendance. Concurrently, there’s been a rise in individuals identifying as non-religious, agnostic, or followers of alternative faiths. This trend prompts me to ask some fundamental questions: Why do we struggle with sharing our faith confidently? And how can we overcome this reluctance and effectively fulfil our mission?

I believe that the solution lies in unity, equipping ourselves with the Word, and embracing the empowering community found within the Church.
