These Three Remain

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” - 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV)

Love is the very foundation that you and I were built on. It was for love that Jesus did what no other could do – die for us on the cross, so we could be alive in Him.

Jesus was the ultimate example of true, deep and unconditional love. He loved the sinners; He loved the broken; He even loved the people who nailed Him to the cross. Jesus loved with a love that goes beyond our understanding.

Not only can we read about the true love of God in the Bible, but we can experience it and have access to it all the time. He wants you to encounter His love daily.

I remember a time when the circumstances around me made me feel numb and spiritually drained. I felt like I was slipping away from God. It took me a while to just sit down and talk to God. But I did, I sat down with God and started talking to Him – telling Him about my hurt and apologising for not coming to Him sooner. 06

But before I could carry on, I felt my spirit fill with peace. I felt the most loving embrace surround me that I knew could only be God. He cared about what I had to say but was happier that I just came back to Him. And He knew that what I needed most in that moment was a hug from my heavenly Father.

He just loves us so much.

He loved the broken

When the prodigal son returned home, the first thing his father did was love him and celebrate him. What I experienced revealed a whole new facet to the love of God. It has built my faith and given me hope. I know that whatever happens around me in this world, I am never abandoned. I know I am loved even when my circumstance makes me feel otherwise.

Let me encourage you; don’t stop seeking God. Even when the waves come crashing, cling to Him because He’s got you. He holds you tight and He loves you passionately.
