R E A C H is a free magazine produced and distributed by CBN Europe to inspire, inform and strengthen your relationship with God. We partner with individuals, churches and organisations in order to share the message of hope in Jesus Christ, provide humanitarian relief and reduce poverty. It is our vision to share the Gospel in a relevant way to all generations and see people walk in their true potential with God. Would you like to support our ministry? These words from the Apostle Paul are a bold declaration of the truth of the Good News Message – and in a few words explains God’s plan and purpose for this world and the people living in it. With the coming of Jesus, God opened the way for us to have a living relationship with Him and have eternal life! The Promise of God was open not only to Israel, but to the ‘gentiles’ – or in other words – to everyone! I love the fact that in God’s Kingdom, things work totally the other way around as this world would expect. It favours the humble, it strengthens the weak, it promotes justice for the oppressed and it promotes the last to become the first. Jesus sought out Zacchaeus, who in the eyes of the world was a despicable person, a tax collector and a sinner who became rich off the back of others. Yet, Jesus saw his potential, and after spending time with him, Zacchaeus was a changed man. He made a 180-degree turn and became a follower of Jesus in word and deed. The Gospel is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes! The Good News of Jesus makes us leave our selfish ways, and we start to see things from God’s perspective! It transforms our inner-being and outworks itself in us becoming a blessing to others!
❛
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and for the Greek.

hat is God looking for in us?
He is looking for faith. We often think of faith as just a noun, but it’s also a verb – when you act on your faith. One of the great miracles in the New Testament happened when some people lowered their friend who was paralyzed down through the roof to be with Jesus. And Mark 2:5 records this wonderful phrase: When Jesus saw their faith. Faith is visible to God. He sees when you believe. Many times, faith is a process. Often on The 700 Club, people hear a word of knowledge and say, “That’s for me; I’m going to take that” – and they have an instant reaction. Their bodies respond immediately. Why? Because God’s power is always on. His healing is always available. The cross is always available to you. As 1 Peter 2:24 says, He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. His power is constantly there; it’s not something He turns on and off. And faith accesses that incredible power. If someone has been healed and then

feels a twinge of pain, it’s easy for worry and unbelief to set in. The person may be tempted to think, “Oh no, I’ve lost my healing.” But instead, we should say, “I haven’t lost anything. I haven’t lost God. I haven’t lost Jesus. I haven’t lost His power. I’m going to act on my faith.”
Power that Never Fails
Now, what medical condition are you facing? God’s power is right there for you. It’s always on. His power doesn’t flicker or waver. What you need is to believe, and to rely, and to trust, and to act on your faith. Don’t allow doubt to creep in. So, let’s believe, and the Lord will do all the rest. God bless you.
His power is constantly there; it’s not something He turns on and off. And faith accesses that incredible power.

Ukraine and Poland – ministry to refugees S
ince the start of the devastating war in Ukraine on 24 February 2022, Operation Blessing teams have been on the ground in Ukraine and Poland to bring relief to thousands of refugees. Thanks to your generous support, we were able to open a distribution centre very quickly at the Poland – Ukraine border and send many trucks with food and hygiene supplies to our warehouses inside Ukraine to meet the urgent needs. As a result, we have been able to provide more than 160 tons of fresh food and vegetables, over 150 tons of sugar, salt, flour, oil and cereal, over 1.4 million cans of food and more than 70,000 units of hygiene items!
Besides the valuable and much needed outreach through our food distribution, our refugee outreach at the Medyka border has been a true blessing to thousands of refugees who crossed the border. Thanks to your support we were able to deploy a large tent and food kitchen at the border, enabling us to serve thousands of refugees during the past months. Your support brought the love of Christ in practical ways to mothers, children and elderly people who crossed the border with nothing more than the clothes on their back and a suitcase full of personal belongings. Our teams on the ground welcomed them with open arms, providing blankets, food, hugs, and a moment to
recover and rest. In partnership with the local church and many volunteers we were able to bring refugees to safe shelter for the night and help local shelters and churches with provision of food and hygiene items.
episodes in Ukrainian language as they learn to understand God’s plan and purpose for their lives. Gizmo is also much loved and always brings a big smile to every child and even to the adults!
Your support helped us to minister to many children in various shelters and at the Medyka border through CBN’s animated Bible series ‘Superbook’. One of our initiatives is sharing Superbook in Ukrainian language to refugee children, though a partnership with the Jesus Film Project. They take Life Boxes with Ukrainian content into schools, to share the Good News of Jesus. The Life Boxes also contain Superbook – so far 190 Life Boxes have been supplied to schools in Poland, to help engage with Ukrainian refugee children.
We are in the process of setting up a Foundation for Operation Blessing in Poland, with its headquarters in Warsaw. We work closely together with the local churches to provide relief to refugee centres in Warsaw – the need is great. Many refugees who came to Poland decided to settle in Warsaw – in the hope of a house, a job, and a way to survive. Many houses and shelters are over-crowded and government support is not adequate. One of the churches operate various safe houses for refugees, sharing the love of Christ in practical ways through shelter, food, and spending time together. Thanks to your support, Operation Blessing is able to provide food boxes and hygiene supplies as we partner with the local church and strengthen their hands.
In addition, our Superbook team from Manilla travelled over to help us in Poland, reaching out to children in Ukraine. Together with our Ukrainian Superbook team they are visiting shelters in Warsaw, Krakow, and Rzeszow to share the Good News of Jesus with children and families. He has a plan for every person, and uses us to bring hope, healing and res toration to every person affected by this war. The children love watching the
8 | MINISTRY UPDATE Many refugees suffered tremendous trauma because of the things they seen, heard, and experienced during the war. Things that no-one should have to experience and leave deep trauma with children and adults. CBN’s Orphan’s Promise is opening a training centre in Warsaw, where we provide trauma counselling training to churches and ministries, so that we can help many more refugees process the traumatic events. Thanks to your support we can employ four team members who are involved with trauma counselling and practical support to refugees. Please pray for this valuable ministry that brings healing and restoration in the Name of Jesus.
Inside Ukraine, our Operation Blessing and Orphan’s Promise teams are working hard to distribute the food they receive, working with many volunteers and missionaries who help with the distribution. We operate two main warehouses in strategic locations, from where we further distribute, even as far as near the eastern front lines. Thanks to your support we can bring fresh fruit and vegetables and canned food supplies to thousands of beneficiaries each month. The need is huge – demonstrated by the long lines of people queuing up for support when a distribution takes place and by how
fast the supplies go once, we start a distribution. With the help of a church in the USA we were able to start a bread bakery, giving us a capacity of 2500 loaves of fresh bread every day. Here is a story from one of our beneficiaries, showing how great of a blessing a simple loaf of bread really is. “My name is Vitaly. I am a resident of a village that is now occupied. I never thought that bread could be so delicious and dreamy! The war came to my village unexpectedly. With the arrival of the war, everything else disappeared in line: light, water, and gas. Peace and tranquillity have gone. Stores, pharmacies, and all other services stopped working. Communication stopped and the laughter of babies. Streets have become empty and grey; fear and danger occupy the streets now. From rattling of military equipment, bombing and constant gunfire, the basement has become a haven for many. Our request and prayer to God gave us comfort: “Lord, I so want to eat, I so want bread! Not meat, no delicacies, just bread!” And He heard us. It is impossible to forget this feeling, holding this fragrant loaf of bread in our hands… How I wanted to eat it alone in one go, but I was waiting in the basement and am not the only one here. Good people! Thank you for this moment of happiness, holding hands and eating bread.” Thank you for your continued support to bless Ukrainian refugees as we continue to stand with them in prayer and practical relief. To give to our Ukraine appeal visit www.cbneurope.com/ukraine or call our CBN Hope Line to give securely over the phone.
Doing the Father’s Will “But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’ He answered and said, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he regretted it and went. Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go, sir,’ but he did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to Him, “The first” (Matthew 21:28–31 NKJV).
W
e’ve all heard the saying, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Jesus told this parable to underscore a very important fact: doing God’s will is what matters most. Jesus, His brother James, and even Paul placed a premium on obedience to God’s will. Too often within modern Christianity, we place importance on belief, by which we mean an inward psychological conviction. In fact, we often contrast faith against works, doing God’s will. This separation means that it will be harder for us to understand Jesus, because He placed preeminent importance on doing.
CBN ISRAEL | 9 to a man who built his house on a rock. To a woman that called out a blessing for Him, He reminded her that the one who is truly blessed is the one who hears the words of God and keeps them. He told His disciples that if they loved Him, they would obey Him. In fact, Jesus says little about faith and a lot about doing, obeying. Within the Bible, faith would better be translated as faithfulness, stead fastness. Such a translation better captures the biblical meaning of the word, and it reflects the aspect of obedience inherent within the biblical idea of faith. It’s not so much about what we think, but what we do, that confesses our trust in God. It wasn’t the son who said but did not do, but the one who did the will of his father, that Jesus praises to His listeners. We come to know God through obeying Him. It’s not through ecstatic experience or special revelation that we come to know God. If you want to grow closer to God, obey His will. If you want to please Him, obey His will. If you want to remain steadfast, obey His will. This is how we know God. Today, pursue doing His will; be the son who did the will of his father. PRAYER Father, may we pursue doing Your will today in everything we say and do. May doing Your will be our supreme joy. Amen.

To me, this is the essence of the beauty and power of the Gospel. Jesus – as holy and perfect as He is – had every right to condemn the woman yet, of all the people surrounding the woman, He was the one to release her.
I
often empathise with the story of the woman caught in adultery from the Bible.
‘The one without sin among you should be the first to throw a stone at her.” (John 8:7 CSB)
This is not because I have been unfaithful to my husband (I’m not married!) but because I can relate to getting yourself into a tangled mess – and having Jesus unravel that mess with one touch.
Jesus then returns to writing in the dust with His finger. One by one the men surrounding the woman leave without casting a single stone. Jesus then encourages the woman to go and leave her life of sin.
If you are not familiar with how the account goes, here is an overview:
The Gospel has the power to break every chain that binds you. The Bible tells us, ‘So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.’ (Galatians 5:1 NLT)
How wonderful.
When we receive our freedom, we should not use that pardon as an excuse to continue in our sin but as a release to not be tied to our sinful behaviour anymore.
way. It encourages us to pursue holiness with the added grace that if we fall short, we are not condemned, we are forgiven.
It was the law that condemned the woman caught in adultery, but it was the grace of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that set her free. Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law but to fulfil it (see Matthew 5:17). Jesus came to present the Gospel which, if anything, demands more of us.
Why not read the account of the woman caught in adultery for yourself –it can be found in John 8:2–11. Allow the scene to unfold in your mind and, if you can, cast yourself as the woman. Feel the fear of her predicament then encounter the relief of Jesus’s words – “Neither do I condemn you.” If you are struggling with sin, know this: the One who loves you most is the One who is able to set you free. And once freed, you will know true freedom.
Imagine being caught in that act, dragged before a judge only to be told that you have been pardoned of your sin and encouraged not to repeat the sin that entangled you.
We are told in the law that we are not to murder. Jesus demands that if we are even angry with a brother or sister, we are subject to judgement. Similarly, we are told in the law not to commit adultery, but the Gospel that Jesus brought tells us that if we even look with lust upon another, we have already committed sin with them in our hearts.
Think of the overwhelming relief you would feel!
The Gospel demands more of us than the law ever did but in the most beautiful
A woman is caught in the act of adultery and is dragged into the centre of the temple by some Pharisees to be held to account. The Pharisees accuse the woman of her crime and recount to Jesus the appropriate part of the law of Moses for such a crime, stoning. But there was a twist. The Pharisees most likely had little concern for the woman nor her crime but were trying to trap Jesus into giving a false verdict so that they would have evidence to accuse Him. Jesus, likely knowing their thoughts and motivations, simply stoops and begins to write in the ground with His finger. Interestingly, we’re not told what He is writing. After being pressed by the Pharisees for a verdict on the matter, Jesus says a beautiful and freeing sentence that reveals the nature of His heart.
To me, this is the essence of the beauty and power of the Gospel. Jesus – as holy and perfect as He is – had every right to condemn the woman yet, of all the people surrounding the woman, He was the one to release her. The Bible tells us that if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36). Some translations say that you will be truly free, or really free. The sentiment being that if Jesus frees you, you will experience freedom in all its fullness. Have you ever committed a sin that you felt was too far gone for you to be forgiven?

Hope in the Hopelessness
Changing a Young Girl’s Life
We at CBN’s Orphan’s Promise, like so many of you, have shed tears over the last month and a half at what we have seen and heard. But God is still at work, friends!
Nine-year-old Shiloh in South Africa was intrigued when her mother introduced her to Superbook after seeing an advertisement on The 700 Club. Shiloh was soon hooked and couldn’t stop watching.
When the darkness seems at its greatest, we know that there is a light that shines even brighter.
As a surprise, her mother blessed her with a DVD combo of Superbook episodes. In spite of the circumstances faced by the people of Ukraine, we continue to hear stories of God breaking through in miraculous ways, answers to prayer and salvation in the midst of the chaos. We see people being fed through projects still operational within Ukraine. Fifteen of our nineteen training centres have remained open and have welcomed those travelling with hot food, basic medical requirements and a safe place to rest.
Shiloh received Christ and even got baptised. Her mother raved about the impact that Superbook has had on her life. The love and support of global CBN partners are making an eternal difference to children and families worldwide. Shiloh says that she and her mother are “Superbook fans” and that they love to “tell others to watch it too!”
A little while ago, you may have seen the opening of a training centre in Khust, Western Ukraine. Whilst much of the work here had to be paused, the centre continues to serve the local community. With the obvious disruption to work for many of the families, finances were stretched thin and many of the community were struggling.
Fariah Finds a New Beginning
Now, not only are the children within the project provided with lunches but other families from the wider community are being fed every day as well. One unique feature of the centre in Khust is a small quail farm, established as part of our SEED program, which is proving to be an invaluable resource at the moment. Every week, quail meat and eggs are delivered to our centres for the refugee families passing through. Thank you for your continued support. Every step, however small it may feel, makes a difference in the lives of the children and families we serve!

Fariha fled from the war in Syria to Lebanon. One of 7 siblings, she and her family live in a single room with no windows and sewage leaking from the ceiling. Many children cannot attend state-run educational provisions and so are left on the fringes. The H.O.P.E. Educational program is a non-formal educational provision that specifically reaches out to the refugee community. Children receive lessons in math, English, Arabic, computers and other basic skills. There is also an incredible open door to share the Gospel and learn Biblical principles! Through this project Fariha has grown socially, academically and spiritually. Her family said she has “changed a lot for the better.”

PARTNER PROFILE time to time we like to spotlight people who are ➜ From very special to us – our partners! Opposite is an interview with Fiona and Noel, 2 of our ➜ valued and trusted CBN Europe partners.
➜ ➜
How did you start to partner with CBN? Noel and I started to partner with CBN by watching the 700 Club on TV.
What projects or ministries within CBN are you passionate about? I love Operation Blessing because it reaches people worldwide and meets their basic needs, such as food, water, and medical operations. I also love Superbook because it reaches children’s hearts, and they are being saved after watching Superbook episodes. I love these ministries because they’re reaching people at the point of their need and bringing them to Christ.
➜
How has partnered with CBN made a difference to you and your family? The greatest miracle I’ve had through CBN is their prayer line. They stood with me when I wanted a baby. For three years, I would ring, and they would always stand in faith with me as I believed for a child from God. The greatest gift that I have received has been the gift of our son Matthew.
➜
What would you say to anyone who is considering partnering with CBN? I say you must do it. It’s the best money you could ever give because you are helping people by meeting their needs and bringing hope and the love of Jesus to them. That’s the greatest thing that anyone can do is to bring them to Jesus.

PAT ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS Join Pat Robertson, CBN founder, as he answers the tough questions in life with Biblical truth’s.
You may have been drawn in by the title ‘I can’t do this!’ We would love to walk alongside you over the next seven days and help you change that way of thinking. This won’t be a quick solution, but true change never is. However, if followed, it will bring you freedom because, in Jesus, this is your assurance.
Q.
When Jesus gave sight to blind people, why did he say to them, “don’t tell anybody”?
A.
The people looked at it from an earthly perspective. They wanted to make Him king. They wanted to lift Him up in hopes of Him being an earthly ruler. Jesus was trying to keep them from doing that. He didn’t want people pointing to Him and then trying to loudly promote Him as king or to make Him some special thing on earth beyond what He wanted to be. Why? Because He knew, sooner or later, that He was going to have to face the cross – and the cross is what was needed to liberate us from sin. That’s why He didn’t want the word going around causing people to take Him by force and make Him king. Jesus knew His purpose: He came into the world to live a sinless life and die as the payment for sin for all who believe and accept Him as Saviour.

Today we are going to look at a story from the books of the Bible known as “The Gospels”. The books that make up this section of the bible are “Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.” They start the New Testament of the Bible and each one tells the story of Jesus, the miracles he performed and how he forgave the bad things the people in the world have done. All four of these Gospel books look a little different and some have different stories in them, however one thing stays the same, the power that Jesus displays. Let’s read one story from the Gospels that shows just this. – Read Mark 2:1–12 This story talks about how Jesus made a man who could not use his arms or legs, get up off his bed, and walk again. What do you think when you hear this story? Does this make you feel like God is very powerful? When Jesus walked on this earth, he performed many miracles, and through those miracles people’s lives were changed.
Has believing in Jesus changed your life in anyway? How? Can you think of any ways that you can help people in a way that will change their life? Maybe by talking to someone who is sometimes alone. If you would like to watch an episode of Superbook which highlights more of these stories, please head to superbook.tv and watch “Miracles of Jesus”. TESTIMONIES HEALING Many, many thanks for your prayers and a million thanks to God Almighty. Thank you for praying for my niece, Elizabeth, God is so faithful the Doctor said there is no lump or anything and my niece does not need a mammogram. God is so good! Nothing can come against a person’s testimony. To refute someone’s experience is impossible as we can never walk in someone else’s shoes. This is why we delight in receiving your personal testimonies and praise reports of how God has moved in your lives. Today we have a collection of short testimonies of how God has answered the prayers of our Hope Line callers. We truly hope that they inspire you to submit your own requests to God.
RECOMMITMENT Colleen rang in as she was struggling with trauma and mental health. We talked about how struggles were affecting her relationship with Jesus, and she didn’t really know where she was at. Lost in depression and life controlling habits. Through tears today she recommitted her life to Christ! Praise Jesus!
SALVATION Serena just gave her heart and life to Jesus. She had been scammed out of money and was in an understandable ‘state.’ I asked her if she knew Jesus to which she said, “My Dad had an encounter with him in hospital and I go to Church”. I replied, with the utmost respect, “that isn’t what I asked...Do you want to know Jesus for yourself, living your own faith, not your dad’s or anyone else’s who comes and goes – in and out of Church?” Serena replied “YES”, and God gave me the privilege of leading her through to her own salvation in and through Him. God is faithful.
