Hello,
Welcome to our latest edition of the Reach magazine.
Firstly, may I welcome all those reading the magazine for the first time, having decided to financially support us as a ministry in our recent partner weeksthank you!
Within this edition we are looking at the subject of ‘Love That Triumphs’.
When someone knows and believes they are loved by a Heavenly Father, every challenge, hardship, or obstacle can be overcome with God’s help. The world has adopted the cliché ‘love conquers all’ and this can be true, but the only love that can bring restoration, wholeness and fulfilment is a personal relationship with Jesus.
Matthew 24:14 NIV says, ‘and the gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.’
We live in uncertain times where everything that can be shaken is being shaken. Many people are experiencing financial difficulties and unexpected pressures beyond their control, but I am so glad that the Gospel is good news to all people. In these uncertain days, our mission remains ‘to make the name of Jesus known to everyone in the UK, Europe and beyond.’ This is
only possible thanks to our financial partners’ prayers and generosity. You are making a significant difference in the lives and communities across our region, and we want to thank you.
Can I draw your attention to our devotionals which are easily accessible on the YouVersion Bible app? These devotionals are written by our team to encourage you to read the Bible and gain further insight and understanding of God’s Word. We trust that, as you read these, they will be a real blessing to you and your family.
Every Blessing, Allen Carter Head of Development CBN Europe
HOW TO HAVE FAITH FOR HEALING
Jesus said in Matthew 21:22 that you’ll receive whatever you ask in prayer, believing.
So how do you pray in faith?
First, when asking God for anything, it’s important to have an attitude of thanks.
Philippians 4:6 says, ‘Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God’.
That doesn’t mean you thank God for your problems; instead, thank Him for what He is about to do! This shows you trust Him.
Psalm 103:2-3 gives this great promise: ‘Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities’. How wonderful to know that when you turn to God, He will cleanse you from every sin. “Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18).
Also, be sure to forgive anyone who has ever harmed you. Ephesians
4:32 says, ‘Be kind …, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you’. Psalm 103:3 has another great promise: He heals all your diseases. Jesus accomplished this on the cross, and Isaiah 53:5 says, ‘By His stripes we are healed’.
That’s why you can look at any illness and say, “You’re part of all the diseases that Jesus has already healed, so you must leave right now.”
God is looking for faith.
As 2 Chronicles 16:9 tells us, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”
So have faith to believe, then let the Lord do the rest - because He stands by His Word to perform it.
May God bless you as you pray in faith!

MINISTRY UPDATE
Thanks to your help, prayers, and support of CBN we can continue to share hope to people in need through CBN’s Family of Ministries. From sharing the Gospel through TV and digital media to providing food to communities in Eastern Ukraine – all is made possible by the generosity of CBN partners. Thank you!
GERMANY
Our CBN office in Hamburg, Germany, is actively working in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to share the Gospel message. We have a wonderful story of healing and redemption.

Ute from Germany always prayed for her friends, family and neighbours – particularly for healing. Then, in autumn, Ute was diagnosed with cancer which rocked her world. She was so shocked that she did not know how to pray for herself anymore. Ute attended church faithfully, but no-one prayed for her healing. Then, she came across CBN’s ‘Erlebt’ TV programme on Bible TV and decided to call our Prayerline.
As our team prayed with Ute and started to declare God’s promises over her life, Ute experienced God’s peace
and presence. She went through chemotherapy, radiation therapy and had two surgeries. Even though things were not easy, she stayed faithful to God and trusted Him completely with her healing. Today Ute is well again, the cancer has left her body and her blood levels are healthy.
The story does not end there. The Lord worked the desire in Ute’s heart to be baptised. She asked if we would baptise her – and we agreed. Our director Pitti had the honour to baptise Ute in one of our Hamburg churches, and our prayer team anointed her with oil. It was a very special day for Ute, and for all of us! We thank God for His faithfulness.
UKRAINE
For more than 30 years, CBN’s ministry in Ukraine has transformed many lives. Since the start of the war, now nearly one year ago, CBN’s Operation Blessing and Orphan’s Promise have brought food, relief, children’s ministry and hope to thousands of internally displaced people and refugees, in Ukraine as well as in Poland. Besides this valuable outreach, CBN also provides life changing surgeries to people in need. Below is a wonderful update from our medical outreach team.
Lyudmila noticed that her vision started deteriorating in April 2022. Due to the condition of her eyes, Lyudmila struggled with simple household chores and daily tasks. No longer could she read her favourite history books. Lyudmila serves as a volunteer to help making camouflage nets for the Ukrainian army. She worried that she could no longer continue to volunteer her time due to her eye conditions. She started to have constant headaches and strain on her left eye.

Lyudmila went to the city hospital and was diagnosed with complicated cataract of both eyes and phacoemulsification of the left eye. The doctor recommended an urgent eye operation. Any delays in operating could lead to complications – glaucoma and perhaps even blindness. Lyudmila did not have the financial resources for the operation.
This is where Operation Blessing stepped in. Thanks to the support of CBN partners we provided finance for the operation and worked with the hospital to schedule the surgery. The operation was a success and Lyudmila can see colours and contrast more clearly. The discomfort and pain in her eyes have gone and she can read the Bible and her favourite books again!
Lyudmila shared: “I am very grateful to the Lord that I was able to have this surgery locally and I did not have to go anywhere because it would not have been possible for me. I would also like to thank Operation Blessing for the financial assistance and support. Thank you for your kindness and for responding to my need! I am even more convinced that the Lord is faithful and hears my prayers!”
THE CLASSROOM OF HUMILITY

“Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth” (Numbers 12:3 NKJV).
We remember Moses as God’s chosen leader for the children of Israel—to bring them out of Egyptian bondage and through the wilderness to the edge of the Promised Land. But what was Moses’ occupation? For forty years before appearing in front of Pharaoh, he was a shepherd.

Moses’ time shepherding flocks in the desert prepared him to lead God’s people. In the harsh climate of the deserts of the Middle East, the shepherd cared for his flock—making sure the animals found water, food, and shelter and protecting them from potential threats. Moses’ time as a shepherd prepared him for the role that God chose for him to deliver and lead Israel.
Likewise, Moses’ time in the desert herding sheep and goats helped form his character: How so? The climate of the desert is incredibly harsh. Temperatures can fluctuate as much as 80 degrees within 24 hours; the scorching heat of the sun can give way to the cold of the night. Water and
food are not easy to find; the sheep and goats rely on the shepherd to find them sustenance.
The desert presents the threat of dangerous enemies, both four footed and two, that the shepherd must protect the flock from. These are the brutal conditions faced by the shepherd in the desert. His life and that of his flock
faced imminent dangers within its wild expanse.
The desert served as God’s classroom in the Bible. God takes people into the desert to teach them and build their character. One of the principal lessons
action in leading the children of Israel, but he also recognized his need to take advice from and rely on others. He was humble. He learned the vital lesson of the desert: One cannot survive alone. Community is essential.
The lessons of the desert often fly in the face of the rugged individualism we honour in our Western culture. That individualism often spills over into our spirituality, where we tend to think solely in terms of our personal relationship with God. Such attitudes are absent within the spirituality of the Bible.
God still leads us into the wilderness to teach us humility and the foolishness of our self-reliance. He used Moses mightily for His purposes and glory because Moses learned humility. Do we allow Him to build the same character within us by leading us into the desert?
PRAYER
that He imparts to them in the desert is humility. There are no “self-made” individuals in the desert. You cannot overcome the harsh and threatening conditions by yourself—and that realisation humbles a person.
Moses spent forty years in the desert, and he learned this lesson well. He understood the need for decisive
Father, in every place You lead, may I learn to rely upon You and others. May I never become arrogant or self-reliant in anything I do. May I always recognise my dependence upon You and those around me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

LOVE TRIUMPHS OVER ANGER
‘Be angry and do not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your anger, and don’t give the devil an opportunity.’
(Ephesians 4:26 CSB)
In a chapter all about living a new life with Jesus, we find the title verse.
Right in the midst of a passage around futile thought lives, hard hearts, lying, stealing and foul language we find this gem around anger.
Now, I love that God gives us permission to feel the emotion of anger.
He is not telling us to behave like robots who respond only with positive emotions all day every day. He knows we are frail and human and will occasionally feel upset, which may demonstrate itself in anger.
The guidance, however, is not to sin. To not let anger have more rule in our lives than it should.
We are not to let the day end whilst we are still angry. It’s too risky. It allows the enemy to get a foothold in our lives and wreak havoc in our relationships.
The guidance to not let the sun go down whilst we are still angry, though very basic and straightforward, can be a little more complex to follow through on.
Anger can become an all-consuming force that takes over our rational thinking and damages our ability to think clearly. We may lash out, hurting those around us with our tongues... or worse.
There is, however, hope.
There are ways in which we can handle our own anger to ensure that we don’t sin.
• Take a few moments to think, before you speak.
Words can be so hurtful. The adage that claims sticks and stones may break our bones, but words will never hurt us is simply untrue. They can cut deeper than any other offense and be remembered for a long time to come. When you feel anger arise in your chest
and you are tempted to lash out with your words, take a moment. Even if it is as simple as counting to 10 before you speak; do it. It could rescue you from breaking down a relationship that you really care about.
• Get out of the house and exercise.
Endorphins and fresh air, a change of space and place, can do wonders for a temper and feelings of anger. Go for a walk. Shake it off. Think. Process. Digest. Then, when you return to the person or situation that has created your angry feelings, you will hopefully have a more balanced view of the issue and be able to tackle it with maturity and wisdom.
• Try to think of a solution.
Rather than dwelling on the problem that has caused your feelings of
frustration, try to funnel that energy and effort into thinking of a solution. Pick apart the dilemma and approach it in a different way. Surely, you will find a new way to handle the circumstance, one that doesn’t involve anger.
• Once you have calmed down, share your concerns.
Perhaps most importantly, remember to address the original situation that started your angry feelings. Once you have taken a walk, sat on a step, exercised and thought about your words, come back and talk. Share with the person you need to how you feel and why you felt so upset. This approach gives the best chance for the future of your relationship to succeed and flourish. Don’t rehash the situation, simply process a solution together, forgive and move forward.
I hope that these nuggets of advice have inspired you and will help you to not let the sun go down whilst you are still angry. Resolution, reconciliation and compromise are the ultimate goals of any conflict. They ensure that love will always triumph.

GLOBAL IMPACT STORIES
A DREAM TO CHANGE HER COMMUNITY

Before Zapryanka knew God, she said, “I lived a very unfulfilling life, I had no purpose in my life.” Through meeting God, she began to understand why she was here and what she should live for. Part of the way God has revealed His purpose to her is through The Gypsy Project, supported by CBN’s Orphan’s Promise.
Living in the Roma community, in Bulgaria, Zapryanka feels the value and importance that education has. Communities remain stuck in poverty cycles without it. Yet, when our teams can step in and provide the necessary support, these once-struggling communities move from at-risk to thriving.
With a dream to have an education, not only for herself but also for her community, she shares, “the programme gives me a chance to fulfil my dreams. And one of them is already coming true!”
Zapryanka received the opportunity to study in a school in Plovdiv. However,
where one dream was met, it gave her the desire to see an even greater one come true. “That gives me a step towards my dream of higher education at the school in St Kliment Ohridski, studying biology and chemistry.”
Through projects like this and the support of our partners, these aren’t just temporary solutions. Hearts are stirred, dreams are realised, motivation is given, and lives are changed that go on to change lives.
She shares, “I decided to become a teacher in the after-school class because I love to communicate with the children. I like spending time with them, to be a good example for them, and give them hope that their dreams can become true too.”
Thank you to all of our partners who are helping many communities move from at-risk to thriving.
A SAFE PLACE TO GROW
Twelve-year-old Daniil grew up in a broken home. His father left before he was born. Along with his mum and sister there were many days they went without basic necessities. Their home was in terrible disrepair, lacking water and a sewage system with no finances for renovations.

Thanks to our partners, our Orphan’s Promise centre in Kyrgyzstan stepped in!
Due to deep emotional wounds, Daniil was quick-tempered and found it hard to make friends. However, he soon began to change. Daniil found a place of love and security where he could grow. Friendships were formed and he found a new lease of life as he began volunteering with the younger children.
“When I listen to stories about God, I feel calm. Even when I am angry, I try to trust Him, and then I calm down. I also really like that the centre organises trips for us to different places, and I learn a lot of new things.”
Although Daniil’s earthly father had left the family, Daniil was able to learn about the love of his heavenly Father.
His whole family found a safe place to receive love, care, and the support they desperately needed. Our team have even begun with the renovations of their home!
This February, why not set aside 7 days to follow our new Love That Triumphs DEVO?

SINGLE SEASONS

LIVING YOUR FULLEST LIFE WHILST SINGLE

You can sometimes look around at others who are in a relationship and think ‘why can’t I have that?’ It’s ok to long for a new season or a new experience of life. But let’s never forget the blessing of each season that we find ourselves in – even if that season is a single one.

Being single – at any stage of your life – is not always easy.
PAT ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS
Join Pat Robertson, CBN founder, as he answers the tough questions in life with Biblical truths.

When you pray, do you pray to God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit? I’ve been told it’s all three of them, but would you please clarify?

First, you pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. It is in the authority of Jesus. For instance, it is like a power of attorney, but you pray in the power of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, I am praying to God the Father in the name of Jesus. He is my Advocate, but the anointing comes through the form of the Holy Spirit. In essence, it is the three of them, the trinity of God or the triune being—consisting of three parts—and they are all working together on your behalf.

We love the Superbook story of Ruth...so much that we have created a colouring page for you to colour in this edition! Choose whichever colours you like and have fun!

In this month’s devotional we will be looking at the story of Ruth, found in the book of the Bible called Ruth.

Ruth’s story has a very sad beginning. She has married a man called Mahlon and all was well until he, sadly, died. Her father-in-law, Elimelech had already died and then her brother-inlaw, Chilion, dies too.

Ruth, her mother-in-law (Naomi) and her sister-in-law (Orpah), are all very sad and trying to understand what has happened to them.
Naomi decides to move away from her home in Moab and return to Judah, her homeland.
She tells her daughters-in-law to go back to their families and find new husbands. Orpah turns around and goes back to her family, but not Ruth.
Ruth says this to Naomi: “Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried.
May the Lord punish me severely if I allow anything but death to separate us!”
Ruth has become very attached to Naomi and her new family...and Naomi’s God.
I won’t spoil the ending of the story (you’ll want to read that for yourself) but Ruth and Naomi’s story is a beautiful one, all about how God can take a very hard situation and turn it around for so much good.
• Have you ever had something difficult happen to you?
• How did God make that situation better?
• Do you think we can trust God with our lives?
We hope you have enjoyed learning a little bit about the story of Ruth. Remember to finish the story in your own time, perhaps with a parent or carer, by reading it in your Bibles.
(Ruth 1:16-17 NLT)

TESTIMONIES
PROVISION
Mary was sat in the garden feeling sad as she wanted to bake a cake but didn’t have any eggs and couldn’t get any locally. She talked to God about it and after that very moment her neighbour poked her head over the fence and asked Mary if she wanted any eggs! (From a neighbour two doors down who has hens) What a testimony! Every detail and every care are important to our loving Father God! What can He not do?
HEALING
Justine called to give testimony about severe night sweats that she had been experiencing. It had been causing her a lot of discomfort and stress. Gordon gave a specific word on the show about it, and she has not had any issues since!
HEALING
Daniel called up to tell his testimony. He was watching the 700 Club when Wendy said that she believed someone had a painful tingling sensation in their right hand. He had exactly this and as soon as she started praying, he felt a change!
PROVISION
Stephanie shared testimony of answered prayer. She rang in praying for a new job. We have now received the good news that she is working in a Christian Charity and is loving it.
RELATIONSHIP
Francis has terrible relationship with her mum. We have been praying for a while with Francis over their relationship. Her mum came to visit with a toy for Francis’s son, Michael, (Francis said this is the way she shows love) and gave Francis a hug and said, “I love you”. Still praying for her salvation but this is a massive miracle in Francis’s and her family’s life.
HEALING
A lady called Barbara just called. She said she rang yesterday for prayer for acid reflux and has been feeling really low. She said a lovely man listened to her and was compassionate and he then offered to pray. In her heart she felt like refusing prayer - but held herself back to allow him to pray. Just 10 mins later our programme (The 700 Club) came on and Gordon had a word of knowledge and said that he saw someone struggling with heartburn and prayed for healing. She was instantly healed. She was delighted and tearful.
