As we enter this new Season of Prayer, we give thanks for the gift of the Church — rooted in Christ and alive in communities around the world. At the heart of CBM’s work is a shared calling to walk alongside local churches as they serve their neighbours, strengthen families, and bear loving witness to Christ through both word and deed.
Across our global partnerships, we see again and again how God is at work through local congregations. As churches are supported and encouraged, they become places of welcome and hope — responding to real needs, nurturing faith, and creating space for individuals and families to encounter the love of Christ in meaningful and life-giving ways.
In the months ahead, we invite you to pray with us that God would continue building his Church — deepening faith, strengthening communities, and shaping us to more fully reflect Christ’s love. May our prayers draw us closer to God’s heart and renew our commitment to journey together in faithful service.

The one who fills us with all joy and peace, by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13), we ask for your blessings. Today, we lift up the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada, as this family of churches discovers new ways to embody hope in every community across our four Atlantic provinces.
Lord, strengthen them as they pursue the strategic vision you have given. We pray for the calling and equipping of effective leaders, especially as they nurture connections through coaching and care. We ask that you continually renew the CBAC today and in the future by fostering courageous and hope-filled conversations. We thank you for the new leaders responding to your call, the churches stepping into local and global mission with creativity, the pastors who find encouragement, and the congregations rediscovering their purpose.
As we join CBM’s global family in prayer, remind us that our hope is part of a much larger story. We are one church, one mission, one movement of your Spirit. Unite us with sisters and brothers around the world who extend Christ’s love, seek justice, and live lives pointing to Jesus, our living hope.

Father, God, Creator of all things,
We come to you today remembering women across Canada who are mothers. We think of Mary, the mother of Jesus, who prayed to you and pondered her experiences as a mom. Today, we pray you will be with women as they raise their children, giving them strength and wisdom to guide young lives with love and care, helping children know and love Jesus.
We also consider those in a different life stage, with adult children, who never stop being a mom. We think of women who have longed to become mothers, but for various reasons have not been able to have children. Comfort them, we pray.
We also pray for women who have maternal roles in different settings as aunts and grandmas, as teachers or neighbours, as children’s workers in church, and in other areas. Help us all to depend on you as we nurture children.
We think, too, of women around the world working extremely hard to care for their families, striving to honour you, yet often facing great difficulties. Bless and encourage them.
In the name of Jesus, your Son, we pray.

You have sustained this ministry through decades of change, upholding it with your steadfast love. As we look back, we see your faithfulness in every generation. For the lives transformed, the hope shared, and the love poured out, and for those who serve today, we thank you, O Lord.

This week, we take time to notice your creation and the way it surrounds us. We eat a little more slowly, taking in the sweet, salty, and savoury foods that fuel us for the day. We pay attention to the colour of the sky as we drive or walk from place to place. Even now, as we pray, we are aware of the beating of our hearts and the ebb and flow of each breath.
Teach us your ways in this wild and beautiful world. Show us how to be good gardeners people who help cultivate life in both community and ground. Show us how to be good priests people who invite all that have breath to praise you and experience your presence in the world. We want to walk with mercy and justice and see all things renewed in you.

For elders to be protected from abuse and neglect, and treated with honour, care, and the dignity they deserve.
You stand with the oppressed and provide for the hungry (Psalm 146). You are a safe place for the vulnerable; a defender of widows and orphans, a shelter for those who have no one to protect them. We come before you with humble hearts, aware that every human being reflects your image and holds a sacred dignity that must always be honoured and protected.
Today, we bring before you those whose dignity is under threat: children who are not safe, women facing violence, elderly people who feel forgotten, families forced from their homes, and communities weighed down by poverty.
Oh God of mercy and justice, protect them. Speak for them when they are unheard and provide what they lack. Open our eyes to what breaks your heart. Where there is exploitation, let justice rise. Where fear dominates, let your peace take its place. Where systems harm and exclude, raise up wise and courageous leaders so that justice may flow like a river (Amos 5:24).
Shape us, Lord, into people who reflect your heart. Help us act with integrity, embrace kindness, and walk humbly in your presence. May your kingdom be seen in practical ways through our actions, our prayers, and our daily lives.

Dear Heavenly Father, we pray that we can meet as sisters and brothers. Help us to love as you have loved. Reveal to us your way of reconciliation and guide us to this end. We pray that we can have a relationship based on love, understanding, and respect.
We are all your children who need to look to you for your peace, justice, dignity, and fullness of life. Heal us from past trauma and free us from racism, dear Father. Walk with us and teach us of your ways. Help us to understand each other and to stand with each other in love and peace.

Oh Lord,
We long to be “repairers of broken walls and restorers of streets with dwellings” (Isaiah 58:12).
Yet we live in a world of crumbling concrete, literally and figuratively, where bitterness and strife continually tear one another down.
Our God, who is healing all things, has entrusted to us the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18). May we not take this lightly.
We pray for the thought leaders who shape the most powerful narratives of our day. May they realize the impact of their words and actions.
Father, please teach us how to make room for repair. Grant us the faith needed to be amenable to dialogue. And be ready to try again when it fails. Give us grace to work alongside those we have hurt, and those who have hurt us, in our mutual journey towards peace.

Thank you for twenty years of faithful service: offering shelter, healing, counselling discipleship, and skills that restore dignity and open new possibilities for life.
Through your Word and the care of communities, you transform wounded stories into testimonies of grace. Bless Miqlat’s outreach teams who provide medical care, nutrition, and patient accompaniment.

Thank you for the teachers and volunteers who are ready to teach our children in this new school year. Give them wisdom, patience, and love for each child. Guide them to respect and accept one another equally. We pray that the students come wanting to learn and that the classroom be a safe place where they are affirmed. May there be adequate mental health resources for students who face difficult issues at home, at school, bullying, etc.
We pray for children around the world living in difficult circumstances that prevent them from accessing an education. We thank you for the many after-school programs and volunteers who assist children with homework and provide nutritional meals, etc.
We pray for children and youth, regardless of ethnicity, to be treated with dignity, justice, and love. We know that we are all created in your image and that you love us all equally. We pray that educators and students alike would remember this and treat each other accordingly.
