Ken Grossman, made a habit of chasing curiosity. His early years of backyard tinkering and covert science projects set the stage for the ultimate discovery: homebrewing.
Fascinated by the alchemy of fermentation, Ken opened The Home Brew Shop in Chico, slowly playing with more hop-forward flavors at a time when American beer wasn’t known for taking chances.
When he finally started a brewery, in his hand-built original brewhouse, he put his first batch of craft beer to the test. The Pale Ale that followed sparked a true craft beer revolution. The adventure’s never stopped, and our curiosity’s still brewing.

LERVIG Stavanger, Norway
Brewers of one of the most famous brands in the world, Huyghe is a towering brewery with a reputation for delicious, accessible beers.
Best known for its strong ale Delirium Tremens, which is so omnipresent that people think it is the name of the brewery not the beer. Dry like champagne but bittersweet and spicy at the same time, it has won best beer in the world as well as countless other awards. Its success has made the brewery part of beer culture everywhere from China to Brazil.
Founded in 1906, when Leon Huyghe bought an existing brewery in the town of Melle near Ghent. Brewing on the site dates all the way back to 1654 but like many breweries in Belgium, World War brought a halt to production when the copper vessels were torn apart for scrap metal. Shortly after the war ended the brewery was rebuilt and Leon started creating the amazing brewery and brand that is Huyghe.
Initially the brewery only made a pilsner, but by the 1980s the brewery had switched to traditional Belgian styles using its house yeast and water from a well beneath the brewery. Now brewing tens of beers under di erent brands, Huyghe are experts in making easy-drinking but full- avoured beers whether it’s the fruit-based Floris range, the Averbode Abbey blonde or the gluten-free Mongozo beers.
At the heart of the brewery is the tradition of Belgian brewing while keeping the act of drinking fun and exciting.
The Bavo range is a Cave Direct exclusive brewed at the world renowned Huyghe Brewery. Huyghe is 100% independent, family owned and strives to become the most Eco friendly brewery in Belgium, so the Bavo range comes with good pedigree. Named after the Patron saint of Ghent The Bavo range consists of Bavo Lager, Bavo Blonde and Bavo Wit. All can be rebranded to resemble your very own brand, just ask your account manager.
