Free delivery within a 350 mile radius of the sale; further, for the cost of our fuel on all cattle.

All cattle had Pouron Ivomec in October. Females were preg. checked and given estimated calving dates by Dr Krista Dayman, in September.
SPECIAL SALE CONDITION:
All bull buyers have the option to let us winter the bull for $150 per month, until they wish delivery.
BULL GUARANTEE:
Each bull will be guaranteed unconditionally for 3 full breeding seasons. We will replace unsatisfactory bulls or you can receive credit for the difference between the purchase price of the bull, less credit used, and $3,000 or your salvage value, whichever is more, and less your usage. The credit you receive will be divided equally between the bulls you purchase.
Example: You have $1,000 credit. You buy bulls for $9,500 and $7,500 (you pay $9,000 and $7,000). You use the $9,500 bull one year and then he dies. We will give you $4,000 credit at a future sale. $9,500 - $500 = $9,000 - $3,000 = $6,000, or $2,000 per year.

The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, or etransfer. Please include wintering charges in the amount. Credit arrangements may be made prior to the sale.

HOW TO READ AND USE THE DATA
EPDs are the expected differences in performance and carcass quality of an animal’s sons or daughters. Comparing EPD values allows us to obtain a difference between two animals.
Consider Bull A with a +60 EPD for weaning weight and Bull B with a +40 for weaning weight. On average, you can expect calves from Bull A to wean 20 pounds heavier than those from Bull B. If they each sired 25 calves, you could expect to market 500 more pounds of calf by choosing Bull A.
You might sell all your calves at market in the fall. Since you do not retain ownership in the calves, you might think that looking at yearling growth and carcass quality has no importance. I beg to differ.
The feedlot buyer knows exactly how well your cattle fed and graded, and will bid accordingly in the future.
PRODUCTION EPDs
CE (Calving Ease) is expressed as a difference in percentage of unassisted births in first calf heifers. If you use a +7 CE bull instead of a +2 CE bull, you can expect to help 5% fewer heifers at calving time.
BW (Birth Weight), expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit birth weight to his progeny compared to that of other sires.
WW (Weaning Weight). This is the number you look at for weaning weight. The bigger the better.
YW (Yearling Weight), expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit yearling growth to his progeny compared to that of other sires. High yearling weight does have a positive correlation to larger mature size.
SC (Scrotal Circumference), expressed in centimeters, is a predictor of scrotal size. Large scrotal size has a positive correlation to early fertility in heifers.
MATERNAL EPDs
MILK. The milk EPD is something to look at if you are retaining heifers. The higher the number, the more they are expected to milk.
CARCASS EPDs
CW Carcass Weight (Angus). Expressed in pounds, this is a predictor of the difference in hot carcass weight of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires. The bigger, the better.
REA. The ribeye area EPD: the bigger the better.
Marb. The marbling EPD: the bigger the better.
Underneath the EPDs is the Breed Percentage. This is the percentile of where each bull fits in the entire breed.
PIGMENT (Herefords)
This is the percentage of pigmentation around each bull’s left eye (LE), right eye (RE), and scrotum.
AGE OF DAM
The age of the bull’s mother when the most recent foot and udder scoring was done. We score the feet on a dry, frozen winter day (and always the worst foot). We score the udder the day the calf was born and before he has sucked (again on the worst quarter). We have included the cow’s age as the scores often become worse as the cow gets older.
HOW TO READ AND USE THE DATA
FOOT SCORE
We score the foot angle and the claw set on the mother of each sale bull.
UDDER SCORE
We score the udder suspension and teat size on the mother of each sale bull.
DOC (Docility)
We score the docility on all of our cows on a 1 - 9 scale within hours of giving birth. 1 - 2, you can ignore the cow; 3 - 4, be careful; 5 - 6, you need a stick; 7 - 8, weighing is a two-person job; 9, the cow hunts you. When we tag and weigh our Hereford newborns, we sit on the calf and ignore the cow. Since the Angus breed came out with docility EPDs, we have made it a real priority to select sires with better dispositions.
ACT. B.W.
The actual scale birth weight of each bull.
W. I. (WEANING INDEX)
We have scale-weighed every newborn calf (both registered and commercial) for the past 39 years. Our neighbours probably thought we were crazy driving our tractor all over the pasture with the bucket up! We have used a tape, but only to compare. Every weight we write down is a scale-weight. We have found the tape to be 6 to 12 lbs light, and birth weight is too important to our customers (and our industry) not to be completely accurate. Our new scale is a real back-saver
The weaning index of the bull. Average daily gain from birth to weaning with slight adjustments for age of dam (so we can fairly compare calves from heifers to those from mature cows). The average of our herd is always 100.
Y. I. (YEARLING INDEX)
The yearling index of the bull. The average of our herd is always 100.
OCT. 8 Wt. and S.C.
The most recent weight and scrotal circumference measurement. Both numbers increase dramatically by sale day. We will have updates on our website a few days before the sale.
We occasionally weighed in the barn. 98% of the time like this.
HOW TO READ AND USE THE DATA
Balanced Trait Selection and Using EPDs:
We have always tried to use EPDs and balanced trait selection when culling our cows or when sourcing new genetics, but have made a few mistakes along the way. An animal can be right at the top of the breed in almost all traits, but if it fails in just one area, it is still a cull. Our dad gave us an excellent functional Hereford herd, and when we ventured into the Angus breed, Stevenson Angus gave us our pick of all cows nine years and older. Great fertility, feet, udders and docility - again, very functional. We were drawn to the Angus breed when looking at mouth-watering pictures of daughters of a certain bull. We A.I.ed to him and the next year, our two top-selling bulls were his sons. The following spring, when their scrotal measurements were 31 cm and 30 cm, both went into our freezer. When scrotal EPDs first came out that bull had a negative EPD for S.C. We have really watched that trait closely since then, and have had minimal problems.
Another problem very concerning to us was having to cull daughters with poorer feet than their mothers’. Our heaviest used A.I. sires since 2020 have been trait leaders for both claw set and foot angle.
Having a Hereford background, docility is another trait very important to us. When we tag, paste, and weigh our Hereford calves, it is always a one-person job, and we can just ignore the cow - every one of them. We have used the docility EPD for Angus since it came out, as well as scoring the docility of every cow within hours of giving birth. It is very rewarding in noticing improvements in all areas in our cow herd.

Top quality Hereford heifers bred for baldie calves.
15M, with a 78 lb birth weight, is one of the top heifer bull prospects in the sale. He is red-necked with 100% eye pigmentation. Extremely deep ribbed and really thick butted. This is a top bull that would work on both heifers and cows. Hughes Hereford Ranch, Rubrock Creek Ranch, Alex Chavtur, and David Guenther have brothers.
DBF. 17M is our heaviest Hereford and has absolutely elite numbers. He is in the top 5% of the breed for W.W., 3% for Y.W., 5% for udder, 7% for teat size, 5% for REA, 16% for marb, and 4% for carcass weight. His dam has been a great cow for us, with an average wean index of 111.6 on seven calves, and has had bulls sell to Dykshoorn Farms, Meldon and Christy Weeks, Brower Ranching, and Peigan Creek Ranching.
HEREFORD LONG YEARLING BULLS
C&N MANIFEST 26M
A really fancy, goggle-eyed, hetero polled son of Manifest. His dam is a well-bred first calf heifer that we are really high on. This guy will sire heavy, well-marked steer calves, and his daughters should be keepers.
C&N NATURAL 33M
Polled, goggle-eyed, really strong over the top, and extreme length of body. This is one of our very top performance bulls. His dam is a real impressive cow with an average wean index of 103.4 on her calves. Finstad Ranching, Ray Gerard, and Trevor Kingcott have brothers.
HEREFORD LONG YEARLING BULLS
C&N MANIFEST 48M
55M is a really calm, long-bodied bull, with a large scrotal development, and one of the best maternal pedigrees in the sale. His dam has an average W.I. of 105.5 on her calves, and her 2025 bull calf (not yet weighed) is probably our very best calf.
A horned heifer bull prospect with balance, lots of eye appeal, and super hair. His actual birth weight of 71 lbs is the lowest in the sale. His dam is a fancy, super-uddered first-calver that we purchased in Braun's 2022 sale.
BIG SHOT
This is a really thick bull with a nice pattern. So much muscle and mass. The Big Shot bulls were really popular last year, and here is another good one. Hughes Hereford Ranch have a brother.
HEREFORD LONG YEARLING BULLS
C&N DOMINATE 77M
An interesting pedigree! 77M is sired by the 2020 Denver Grand Champion bull, SR Dominate 308F ET. His grandsire, H DeBerard 7454 ET, was the 2019 Denver Grand Champion polled bull. 77M emulates the heavy muscling and eye appeal of both bulls. He is the #2 REA bull in the sale.
A dark red bull, long-bodied, stout-hipped, and lots of muscle shape. We really like the balance and structure of this bull.
HEREFORD LONG YEARLING BULLS
7088E
One of the top carcass bulls in the sale - top 10% of the breed for Rib Eye and the top 11% for Marbling. He is a deep ribbed bull, wide through the pins, with a thick butt end. We used him clean up on 33 purebred cows this year. His dam's first calf was one of our high selling bulls last year, going to Gogolinski Farms.

DBC. 104M is a goggle-eyed, deep-ribbed, long-bodied, fancy son of Masterplan. His EPDs are off the chart! He ranks in the top 4% for W.W., top 1% for Y.W., and top 2% for Marbling. In the recent historic, record-breaking Churchill dispersal sale, the Validated progeny were the high sellers.
Our progeny from 7131E seem to have an extra rib. 110M and his dam, 106J, both have remarkable length of body and solid markings. 7131E is also an udder improver, so this should be a top maternal bull, as well.
HEREFORD LONG YEARLING BULLS
A moderate, thick bull with hair and eye appeal. His dam was a favourite with visitors. If you are looking to moderate your cow size, add easy-fleshing ability, so they can thrive in tougher environments, and improve hair and dispositions - then here's your bull.

Deep ribbed and really wide based. This is an excellent bull. His W.W. and Y.W. EPDs are both in the top 1% of the breed. His dam, 42H, is a special cow - check out her udder scores. We used 36M as a cleanup bull on purebred cows this summer. Rick and Rachel Bauer have a brother.

We used 39M as a cleanup sire on purebred heifers this summer. He had a 78 lb B.W., but is recommended for both heifers and cows. 39M is really smooth and stretchy. We expect that he will sire moderate sized calves that will really grow - enough that his steers should sell with those from mature cows. His excellent dam has produced bulls for Gutfriend Ranching, David Yablonski, and Kleinknecht Cattle Co.

Another bull recommended for both heifers and cows. 44M is cleanfronted and has extra length of body. His dam, a first-calf heifer, has a nice udder. NOTE: This is a different pedigree for most of our customers.

This is an embryo transplant from 29Z - our best cow. Brothers 66M and 211M also sell. We used 47M as a cleanup sire on purebred heifers this summer. This is the fourth son of 29Z that we have used. This is a fancy, athletic, long-bodied bull. O+ Ranching, 90 Bar Ranches, Living Springs Ranch, and A & L Robbins Ranching have brothers.

C&N JAMESON 50M
This is a super thick, heavily muscled bull. Probably the easiest keeper in the sale. We really think highly of this guy. He rated in the top 1% of the breed for W.W. and Y.W., the top 4% for marbling, the top 7% for C.W., and the top 8% for foot angle. His dam is an excellent cow, with a son selling to Bow Island Grazing.

62M is a moderate framed bull with a super disposition. He is extra stout and very deep bodied. This is a very good bull from a first-calf heifer.
Our second heaviest bull, and from a 13 year old mom. A huge, powerhouse bull, he indexed 109 for weaning, and 120 for yearling. He will absolutely boost the weights of your calves come sale day, and add some longevity to your cowherd. Buffalo Jump Farms, Deer Creek Livestock, O+ Ranching, Kleinknecht Cattle Co. (with two), and Brower Ranching have brothers.

C&N GOAT 85M
Herd sire prospect! Our heaviest bull, 85M indexed 117 for weaning and 126 for yearling. We used him on purebred cows this summer. His EPDs for W.W., Y.W., C.W. and REA are all in the top 1% of the breed. This is an exciting bull when you examine his power, bone, and natural muscle. Trevor Kingcott has a brother.
This is an interesting pedigree - a Renovation out of a Coalition daughter. He is a thick bull with style and muscle. He has the largest scrotal circumference (42.5 cm)

159M is one of the eight bulls sired by C&N Three Rivers 114K, who sold in our 2023 sale to Lee Snortland. As a group, they are freemoving, long-bodied, and very docile. That description certainly fits 159M, as well.
ANGUS LONG YEARLING BULLS
This is the second calf born from 19J. Both were bulls, and we have used both. 175M is really long with incredible performance, and incredible EPDs. Graehme Shufletoski has a brother.
