Welcome to the 14th Annual Rainbow Hills Ranch production sale. It is a great pleasure to be involved in the Angus seed stock production. The last year has been a challenge for many of us in the cattle industry with a long cold spring and a hot dry summer with an early onset of winter in some areas, but as ranchers we always find a way to pull through the tough times and succeed.

There is never a day that goes by that we don’t learn something new to help us succeed.

For those of you that are not familiar with our operation, we are a fourth generation ranch that has been producing Angus seed stock since 1962. We are a family focused operation with the cows being our bread and butter, with this said you will find that we have always taken the time to select the best genetics to provide our customers with traits favorable to beef production, growth, calving ease, fertility and structural conformation. Our cow herd is managed with not a lot of pampering. I believe that cows need to work for us and not us for them. Our calves never see creep feed and I feel that this gives us a better idea of the cow’s value and productivity in our herd. With the competition for acres of pasture ever growing, we all need to focus on the productivity of our cattle, we can increase profitability by increasing the amount of pounds produced per acre We are proud of our sale offering this year. You will find many new sire groups. Our bull pen has great amount of depth and will offer bulls to meet many different needs. Our selection of heifers this year is excellent you will find females that will be great additions to your cow herds and give you many years of value.

LIVESTOCK INSURANCE An insurance representative will be present on sale day.

KEEP AND FEED PROGRAM We will keep and feed your purchases until May 1st, 2019 at no cost as long as you insure your purchase. After May 1st, 2019 there will be a $2.00 per day charge to the purchaser.

TRUCKING AND DELIVERY Free delivery to central areas, US exchange rate will be provided sale day.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS Cattle will be sold under the terms and conditions of the Canadian Angus Association. Full settlement needs to be arranged before release and transfers.

SIGHT UNSEEN PURCHASES We would like you to attend the sale, but if you are unable to Warren or any of the sales staff would be glad to assist you. We are not satisfied unless you are. There will be a cellular booster on site sale day, but if you need assistance please enquire prior to the sale.

HERD MANAGEMENT AND HEALTH We make a special effort to manage our cattle so they will perform to the maximum for you. We do not creep feed our calves as we feel that using weaning weights is a tool to indicate a cows performance. Our calves are weaned in late October and fed a high roughage diet, you will find that our cattle are not carrying the flesh common to some purebred herds, these cattle will respond quickly to grass and will last longer for you. Our cattle are all vaccinated in June with 8-Way and Cattle Master 5, and then this is repeated again in October with an application of Ivermec.

Our cows survive under normal conditions without a lot of pampering.

BREEDING GUARANTEE We stand behind our cattle and if you get a bull or a female that will not breed please let us know in a reasonable fashion and we will look after you. We will not be responsible for physical mismanagement, and not provide more than the original sale price.

POUNDS EQUAL PROFIT For Example: A bull that will add 30lbs to the weaning weight of each of his calves, mated to 30 cows per year for 4 years. Let`s say we sell them for $2/lbs 30 x 30 = 900 x 4 x $2/lbs = $7200 So, with this said, this bull should produce you an extra $1800/ year on the same amount of grass, in turn making that bull worth more.
