With record high calf prices, how can you not be excited to be in the cattle business! All those late night calf checks and caring for livestock through snowstorms is really paying off. It is always important but maybe now more than ever, to be using the best bulls that you can find. I think this may be the strongest set of bulls we’ve had in quite a few years, especially when you start taking a look at the high performance type bulls.
Our black section is the most consistent set of high performance bulls we’ve had. The Caliber progeny are a true highlight and of course the 70D flush mates are just an outstanding representation of what he did here for us. The red offering is just as deep in quality. They’re consistently powerful and uniform across all of the sire groups. A couple true highlights are Lots 35 and 50. These may be two of the strongest red bulls we’ve ever produced, each offer something different but either bull would improve any program you place them into!
The fullblood section is nothing shy of impressive with a son of Silver Lake Jackson going back the MI Ms Dallas cow family highlighting this group. We’re also very happy with the progeny our new herdsire - Cherry Creek Troubadour has produced in his first calf crop. They’re stout, medium framed type of bulls that are sure to impress, plus every one of them comes with a polled head. The angus bulls are without question our strongest set todate - each has a slightly different type and the selection offers something for everyone.
This is our fourth year having the sale at home and we absolutely love having it here. You’re welcome to view the bulls anytime before sale day. The sale is a video style sale at the Rossburn Hall, a short drive from our yard so come early to look around and then head to town and join us for lunch with the sale to follow - please stay after the sale for some hospitality! One of our favourite parts of the year is visiting with customers afterwards.
We have to thank some of the people that help us throughout the year; Dave Barnesky is a neighbour and friend that has worked for us for a few years now and we couldn’t do it without him. Zach Tkachuk is a young guy that is working for us. He started his own little herd of cows and it is exciting to see his enthusiasm to become a breeder. Our newest farm hand, Kyle Schaworski started with us this fall and has been a great addition to our team.
Bobby Kostesky has done all of our custom seeding and spraying for a few years now, I never have to worry about that as he treats ours like it is his own and does a great job. We also talked him into cooking brisket for the sale and tending bar. Also a huge thank you to Jolene and her family for helping out with meals, not only at the sale but all year! She helps with meals when everyone else is busy. Also a huge thank you to all the guys and gals that help along the way at sales, shows and wherever needed, we are truly blessed in that way. We’ve had more help around here this year than ever before, with Neil having a couple back surgery’s and being down for harvest and calving season, we were all worried about how things would keep running. The number of friends and neighbours that stepped up to lend a hand was absolutely outstanding and we could not be more thankful. We are so fortunate to be surrounded by so many great people!
Finally, we’d like to say a big thank you to the Bohrson Marketing team from the various farm visits throughout the year to putting the catalog together and all the sale day support. They really do such a great job for us.
If you can’t attend the sale we are on DLMS or give anyone of the Bohrson crew or ours sales consultants a call they’re a very professional bunch that can help you in any way.

HOMO POLLED HOMO BLACK
Here is the bull that we’ve all been talking about. We were so high on him that we decided to take him out this fall on the show road. We had him at Ag-Ex and Agribition where he drew an incredible amount of attention. He’s huge middled, strong hipped, exceptionally long bodied with that beautiful attractive front end that’s hard to find in these highperforming type bulls. He’s sound in his make, and a definite sale feature - pay close attention to this one.
Right from the beginning, we’ve been extremely high on the Caliber X 70D calves. They’re extremely uniform and the quality is outstanding. Here’s a bull with a tremendous amount of hip, great depth of body and an attractive made front end. He’s medium to large framed. I truly don’t believe you could go wrong with any of these Caliber X 70D sons. Here’s one to take a close look at. 2

HOMO BLACK
Here’s another Caliber X 70D that we are extremely high on. He is likely the most attractive fronted of the whole flush. He’s big middled, deep in his hip and strong topped. The females we got out of this flush are nothing shy of excellent. If you’re looking to make females with an attractive build, this guy is one to pay attention to.
HOMO POLLED
HOMO BLACK
Likely the heaviest muscled, easiest fleshing, most rugged bull of the entire flush. This guy is big in all ways - hip, middle, frame. He is an absolute powerhouse of a bull and is a real highlight of this group! If you’re looking for performance, you found it right here!
whose recipient mother unfortunately got a bit sick on us, regardless of that 151N has still managed to keep up pretty closely with his embryo brothers. If you look at his build, he has all the right pieces. He’s attractive, deep middled, big hipped and wide across the top. Although he may weigh up slightly lighter than some of his flush mates, I would pay close attention to him if you’re looking for a sleeper in this flush of bulls - look no further.
HOMO
A thick made, blaze faced, straight topped son of Liberty. He is well muscled with a nice haircoat. His dam is a nice, thick Doc Holiday daughter with a blaze face. This cow family has been very good to us. Keep a bunch of daughters out of this guy. I think you will be very happy with them!

Another son of the Caliber bull out of a top black cow from our program. This may be the deepest bodied bull in the entire offering - not to mention, he also has an extremely impressive hip on him. We are extremely high on this bull and decided to show him this year earning Reserve Champion Bull at the YCSA National Classic in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, as well as was showcased at Ag-Ex and Agribition. If you’re looking to add depth and attractiveness to a calf crop, here’s the bull to do it with.
Another Diablo son who would be suitable for heifers.
A bull with a little extra frame and length. He has a good deep hip and is deep bodied as well. Has that herdbull look! His dam has done a good job so far raising a bull to Robson Cattle Co. Ltd and a female to LaBatte Simmentals. This will be our first Swagger bulls to sell and they did exactly what we hoped!
Here’s a bull with that attractive make that we all search for yet he doesn’t give up in terms of muscle mass or bone. He is deep middled, wide topped and out of a cow family that we are really high on. Plus, he’s got that nice blaze that’s hard to find.
BLACK
They don’t come much stouter than this guy! He’s deep bodied, big hipped and solid muscle from front to back. He is a medium to moderate framed bull with an attractive front end and a perfect blaze face. His damn is a great up-and-coming young cow who sold a bull to Horner Cattle Company last year and we can’t wait to see more from her.

Welcome to Northern Light Simmentals Annual Bull Sale. Rocking Z Cattle Co is a purebred Simmental operation I started in 2023 with a goal in mind to provide premium quality genetics for the purebred and commercial producer. With the help of the Carson family, I have been able to make that dream a reality. I run my small purebred herd along side the Carson family and also work here at the farm. This year I have two black calving ease bulls that I believe will go out and and be productive in any operation, feel free to visit the farm and check out this deep offering of yearling bulls. A really smooth made, well muscled son of Ease. If you are looking for a red blaze to use on some heifers, this is the one! He is clean fronted, smooth shouldered, moderate in size and very well balanced with a great haircoat. His young mother is an ideal type of cow with a nice udder. One I think highly of!
An extremely thick, heavy muscled son of Ease. He is super stout and has that herdbull look to him. His dam is a nice young fullblood cow with a good udder. If she raises them all like this guy she will have a good future here!
This red blazed face son of Mind Game is an absolute stand out in this years red offering. He is as stout as they come with a depth of both body and hip that is second to none. He has tons of hair and an extremely quiet demeanour, one that you will want to keep your eye on. His dam is a medium framed, red blaze faced cow with a picture perfect udder. She has been one of our top producing red cows and has not disappointed.
Here’s a bull who’s all around impressive. He is big hipped, deep bodied, wide topped and attractive made. He’s a medium frame bull who goes back to the 36D cow family who’s been one of our best black cows around here for the past few years, his dam seems to be following in her footsteps. She has an extremely impressive blaze face trailblazer son currently at her side. If you’re looking to make females this guy checks all the boxes.
Another Reddington son with lots of length, dark red color and a nice attractive front end. His dam was purchased from our friends at Schweitzer/McColl as one of the high sellers that year. She has sons working for Crestview Livestock, Hrebenik Farms, and Randy Bryant. A dark red bull that will add some payweight!
One
Another Reddington son that fits the same pattern as the rest. Long bodied, good hair and out of a top producing cow with a nice udder. She has progeny working for Big Hills Simmentals, C&E Stephens Farms, Warren Edmundson, Sandra Jeffery, Grassy Flat Ranch and Kevin Peterson, she just never misses!
made son of Ease with a good baldy face! If you are breeding a group of heifers grab one of these Ease sons, you will be impressed! His dam is a good young cow with a good udder.
A dark red, long bodied son of Sunny Valley Cannon. Length of body comes from both sides of the pedigree for this guy. His dam is
bodied Windham daughter with a perfect udder.
A dark red goggle eyed, 100% Fleckvieh son of Fugitive. Fugitive was a herdsire for us that was ideal in every way. The females are
mother cows and the sons are thick and stout. His dam has a great udder and is just the right size!
A polled son of Troubadour. He has a good colour pattern with goggles, out of a cow we bought at Simmsational. She has lots of middle and a nice udder. These Troubadour bulls are going to add muscle for sure.
Welcome to the Northern Light Simmentals Annual Bull Sale! First of all, we would like to thank everyone who has shown interest, bid or bought in the past few years since we’ve got the angus herd up and running. We truly are exceptionally happy with the Angus cow herd that we have continued to build since 2019. We have made it an absolute priority to select our females with three main philosophies in mind; sound structure, exceptional udder quality and good temperament. We have been told by some very reputable cattlemen to select your cowherd to make beautiful females, and the bulls will come. In saying that, the angus bulls that we have on offer this year are truly in my opinion, our most consistent and impressive set that we have ever offered. The offering is stout made, wellbalanced and sound footed and we are confident that they will go out and do their jobs on any operation. We hope you get the opportunity to come evaluate these guys as well as the rest of the offering for yourselves on, or anytime before March 19th at the farm just south of Rossburn, MB. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions regarding the bulls. Thank you again and we hope to see you on sale day!

Lot 68
A bull who is extremely impressive in terms of masculinity, stoutness and overall performance. One that is really going to add the pounds to his calves. He’s long bodied, sound made and big footed. His sire, Covey Hill Unbelievable 4J, is backed by some exceptional females on both sides of his pedigree. 1N’s dam is a cow I purchased from Stewart Cattle Co, she has always been a top producer and typically weans off one of our heaviest angus calves. This stud should make some fantastic replacement females!
4N is an ideal heifer bull candidate. He’s smooth shouldered, long spined and attractive made. Not to mention incredibly hairy and extremely docile! His dam is a beautiful young cow that I purchased from the great people at Merit Cattle Co. as a heifer calf. She has developed well and we sure are impressed with her sound structure and udder quality. She did a dam good job on her first calf!
An attractive fronted, long bodied bull with a good hind end! This Bank Note son comes out of a top cow family for HBH. The daughters should be really good. A very good thick, straight topped thick butted son of our walking herdsire purchased from Elk Ridge. This guy really puts it all together. Nice small head smooth shoulder and lots of depth. His dam is a good young cow with a bright future!
