Rural communities are dependent on the life saving critical care and transport capacity that HALO Air Ambulance provides to our residents. Many of our 4-H families have their own personal stories of how HALO has improved the outcome for someone they love. HALO is a not for profit organization funded by community partners and donations.

The Oyen & District Food Bank has helped ensure the basic need of food is met for the residents of the Oyen area for 22 years. They provide food bank services as well as emergency hampers as needs arise. The Oyen & District Food Bank is a charitable organization and relies on the goodness of others to provide these essential services.

The East Sounding Creek 4-H Beef Club would like to show our support to these life-saving organizations by raising funds through the sale of our charity steer “Hot Shot”. Proceeds from auction will be donated directly to HALO and beef donated to the Oyen Food Bank.

Charity Steer Auction will take place at our Hanna District Market Steer Auction on June 11, 2022 @ 7pm.

Hanna Rangeland 4-H Multi Club is in it's 64th year. Our club consists of members from Hanna and surrounding area. This year we have 18 members and 6 Cleaver Kids which are involved in one project or another, some are in multiple projects. Everyone has put in a lot of effort towards their projects whether it be in Market Steer, Market Swine, Female, Carcass, Sewing or Outdoor Adventure. We are excited to have the opportunity to show off our achievements at our Show and Sale on June 11 & 12. Hope to see you there!

Austin Nelner Hello my name is Austin Nelner and this is my 7th year in 4-H. This is my sixth year in market steer with my Simmental Angus cross steer named Buddy. He does well being tied up and is overall a pretty docile steer. I look forward to seeing how my steer and all the other steers look and do on show day. I’d like to thank Hanna IGA and Checkered Flag Sports for purchasing my 2021 Market Steer.

Lincoln Nelner Hello my name is Lincoln Nelner. This is my 2nd year in 4-H but my first year with a Market Steer. My steers name is Meat Loaf and I named him that because he is HUGE! He is a Simmental Angus Cross. He loves to be scratched and he is very halter broke. I hope to see you all on sale day.

Chance Scott My name is Chance Scott and this is my 8th year being a member of the Hanna Rangeland Multi Club. This year my steer Stew is a Simmental Maine Anjou cross and at the end of April he was 1200lbs. Over the past year I have taken on the position of president at both the club and district level as well as being selected as one of the two Key Members for this 4-H year. Outside of 4-H I play both hockey and football. Thank you to Hanna Cooperators for buying my calf last year and look forward to seeing everyone at the Show & Sale.

Colby Scott I’m Colby Scott and this is my 6th year in 4-H My steer’s name is Doug. He is a Angus x Maine Anjou. He weighed 1205 lbs at the end of April. He is a beautifully built steer with a stout frame loaded with meat. I would like to thank my buyer from last year Smith and Hersey Ag Law.

Taylor Mashon Hi, I’m Taylor Mashon and this a my calf, Howard. He is my 5th show steer and Howard is an easygoing, happy-eating Fleckvieh Simmental steer. He has lots of length for steaks and roasts! I have enjoyed raising him and hope you look forward to eating him! Would like to thank my buyer from last year, Westview Co-op Fox Lake Agro, Hanna.

Callie Mashon My name is Callie Mashon. I am 13 years old and this is my 6th year in 4-H. My Steer’s name is Farkle and he is a Fleckvieh with lots of color to add to his personality. We have spent lots of time together. He love’s to be scratched on the head and back. He is very quiet and so sweet. I would like to thank again my buyer from last year, Pine Ridge Supply Ltd, Hanna and a Thank You to all who support 4H!

Ronan Quaschnick My name is Ronan Quaschnick and I am an intermediate member. My calf this year is an Angus calf and his name is Tundra. He is big and gentle. When I first started working with him I could ride him before I could lead him. He is going to be nice and tender, so don't be afraid to bid on this big guy.

Kinzy Quaschnick My name is Kinzy Quaschnick and this is my first year as an intermediate member. My calf’s name is Domino. He is a Speckle Park calf. He is a good calf and really quiet. The first day I had him I could lead him across the yard. He will definitely taste good and make great steaks for you!

Leevi Quaschnick My name is Leevi Quaschnick and this is my first year as a junior member. My calf’s name is Smokehouse Sam. He is an Angus calf. He is a good steer. It took a lot of work but he is finally leading nicely.

He is big and will be nice and tender.

Grace Scheler My name is Grace Scheler and I am a first year senior this year. My steer Stetson is a very big boy. He is a Black Angus who is already almost finished, and I'm sure he would make a great addition to anyone's freezer. I would like to thank the Bossert family again for buying my steer last year!

Dexter Hutton My name is Dexter Hutton. I am now an intermediate and have been in 4-H for seven years . This is my steer Maverick. He is a big, homegrown Black Angus steer. I got lucky with this one, he has been really quiet right from the start. Maverick’s favorite thing to do is eat. When we started in November, he weighed in at 668lbs.

Leevi Quaschnick My name is Leevi Quaschnick and this is my first year showing a pig. My pig project is my favorite and everyone should give it a try. My pigs name is Bruce. He is a Tamworth pig. I really wanted a red pig this year and that is why I chose Bruce. My favorite thing about him is when he gets excited and barks and jumps in circles.

Bruce is 3 1/2 times my size and will make someone some tasty bacon!

Anna Raugust My name is Anna Raugust and I am 13 years old. This will be my 3rd year in 4-H and my 2nd year in swine. My pig, Chris P. Bacon, is a Berkshire Tamworth cross. He enjoys eating rice crispy treats and bread. CPB spends his time eating and laying in the mud and soaking up the sun. I would to thank Lunalta Limousin for buying my pig last year.

Colby Scott I am Colby Scott and this is my 6th year in 4-H and my fourth year in the Market Swine Project. My hogs name is Carlos.

He loves eating his food and I’m sure someone would love eating him. I would like to thank my buyer from last year Bryan and Emma Garlock.

Kinzy Quaschnick My name is Kinzy Quaschnick and this is my third year showing pigs. My pig’s name is Panda. She is a Tamworth x Berkshire. Panda is really quiet most of the time but sometimes when we go for walks she just wants to run to the dugout to go swimming. She is going to be a really good tasting pig.

Ronan Quaschnick My name is Ronan Quaschnick and this is the third year I have shown pigs. Trashcan is the name of my pig and he is a brute. He is a Berkshire. He will taste really good so everyone should bid on him.

Our Cleaver Kids showed a variety of interests this year, as some had interest in only a calf project or a piglet project a few chose both. We have some that even wanted to try to learn the basics of sewing. It’s great to see them eager to learn new things and “Learn to do by Doing”!

Dryland Multi-club has had another year of fantastic & enthusiastic members. We have 17 members and 3 Cleaver kids. This years projects include market steers, heifer, 2 year cow/calf and pheasant. These kids have worked hard all year and are ready for Show and Sale. Our members are from Youngstown and Hanna area. We would like to Thank all of our previous buyers for their years of continued support, we look forward to this year and seeing all the familiar faces and hopefully and few new ones!

Liam Paisley My name is Liam Paisley and I am a junior with the Dryland 4-H Club. This is my first year in 4-H and my calf's name is Ferdinand.

He is very quiet and is out of our Fleckvieh milk cow and our Gelbvieh bull. I was able to give him a scratch the day we weaned him and he's been really easy to halter break. He weighed 770 lbs at our weigh in last November and I can't wait to see how much he weighs at Show and Sale.

Vance Laughlin My name is Vance Laughlin. I am a senior member in my sixth year of 4-H, and I am the treasurer for the club this year. This year 4-H has presented me with countless opportunities to learn and grow, and I am learning how to be a leader. My only project this year is a market steer. He is a Charolais Cross named Greg and he weighed 700 pounds at weigh -in, and as of April 20 he weighed 1400 pounds!

He is a very docile steer and he will be finished nicely by Show and Sale. I am very excited to see how he turns out and hopefully he leads me to a rewarding finish to my 4-H year.

Kiptyn Conners My name is Kiptyn Conners and this is my 3rd year with a Market Steer 4-H project. My steer's name is Buddy and he is a home raised Limousin Angus cross. At weigh-in November 12th, he weighed 720 lbs and on May 1st he weighed 1290 lbs. Buddy has some attitude but we are working together to correct that. Thank you to Blue Rock Animal Nutrition for buying my steer last year!

Clara Beasley My name is Clara Beasley. I am 10 years old and this is my third year in 4-H. I am a Junior in the Dryland Multi 4-H club. I have done sheep & horse 4-H and this is my first year with a steer project. Kevin, my 4-H calf was halter broke very easily and has lots of fat and is in good shape. He is a Black Angus. He eats evenly with my brother Jasper’s 4-H calf and likes being scratched on the tail. Last time I checked he was a little over 1000 pounds. He is mostly clean and is ok with you around him. He behaves when I’m walking him although he does not like loud places. Kevin seems like he might go for a good price. I really like Kevin and I will miss him when he sells.

Jock Andrus My name is Jock Andrus. I am part of the Dryland Multi 4-H Club. This is my fifth year in 4-H. I have a market steer and his name is Sparky. My steer is very quiet and can lead quite well. On April 20th, 2022 Sparky weighed 1250 pounds. My steer likes to be scratched and combed. I am very proud of the way my steer turned out.

Jillayna MacMillan This is my 2nd year in Market Steer and Pheasant 4-H. This year we are raising 750 pheasant chicks.

My calf's name is Joze, he is a home raised Simmental Angus Cross steer. I love Joze because he is very friendly and loves scratches and bucking in the fresh straw. In the middle of November Joze weighed 700 pounds, and currently on May 6th he weighs 1300 pounds. I like how Joze is built because he is very big and has great muscle as my brothers say. I will be sad to sell Joze this year because he is my friendliest calf I have ever had. I want to say thank you to my last year buyer R&L Farms for buying my steer.

Taylor Conners My name is Taylor Conners and this is my 6th year having a market steer project. My steer, Olaf, is a home raised Limousin Angus cross.

When choosing a 4-H steer, I try to look for a good combination of conformation and quiet behavior so that I will have a good looking finished animal that I can handle myself. On November 12th weigh in, Olaf weighed 670 lbs and on May 1st he weighed 1375 lbs. Thank you to Tim Andrew and the Limo Buyer group for purchasing my steer last year!

Kale MacMillan This is my 6th year in 4-H. This year I have a steer and a heifer. My steer is a home-raised Simmental Angus and my heifer is a Charolais/ Simmental also a home-raised calf. My steer was born April 2, with a weaning weight of 730 lbs. He has been growing well and he will be at a good finish weight. I'm also in pheasant 4-H, we have 760 chicks. Last year we had 400 chicks. I would like to thank the Blair family with Plover Lake Ranches for buying my last year 4-H steer.

Jasper Beasley My name is Jasper Beasley. I am 12 years old and I have been in 4-H for 5 years. I am a Junior in the Dryland Multi 4-H club. I have participated in beef, sheep, and horse 4-H and a small engine project. This is my third market steer project. He is a Black Angus and his name is Jamal. He likes to open gates and lick the saddle horses when they are tied at the corral.

Jamal is a very friendly, halter broke and curious steer. I enjoy him and overall I like 4-H a lot.

Megan Conners My name is Megan Conners and I have been in 4-H for 8 years now. This is my second year as a senior member and I am currently the secretary of the Dryland Multi 4-H Club.

This year, I have a steer and heifer that I am very happy with. My steer is a Red Limousin steer named Albert. I chose this steer because of his large frame that has allowed him to gain very well throughout the year. As of May 1st my steer weighed 1355 lbs. This makes his average daily gain 3.97 lbs/day. My favorite part of 4-H is being able to show my animals. I am so excited for June to be able to do this again. I would also like to thank Devin and Shera Olsen for buying my steer last year. Your support is greatly appreciated. Please join us on June 11th, 2022 at the Hanna Arena to celebrate another successful year!

Rodney Laughlin Hi, my name is Rodney Laughlin and I am 9 years old. This is my first year with a market steer. My steer's name is Elon, he is a Simmental Cross that I bought from Crossing Creek Cattle. He loves to be scratched on his head. My favorite thing about my steer is how long and deep he is. I really enjoy feeding and spending time grooming my steer. I last weighed my steer on April 25 and he weighed 1430 lbs I have learned a lot this year in 4-H and I am really looking forward to my first show and sale.

Mandy Conners My name is Mandy Conners and this is my 5th year in 4-H. This year I have chosen a Limousin Angus cross steer. The reason I chose this steer is that he was long and had a good frame and he looked like he could hold a lot of meat. On May 1, he weighed 1310lbs. My steer has been gaining approximately 3.88 lbs/day.

The reason I like 4H is that I am always learning new skills to help me in the future, like picking animals for the farm to use for breeding and selling. For me, the best part of the year of 4H is the show and sale because I get to see my friends. Thank you to Plover Lake Ranch for buying my calf last year. Corbin MacMillan My name is Corbin MacMillan, this is my steer George. I have been in 4-H for eight years now and still continue to see improvement amongst my animals, with George definitely being a stand out at the top. He is a well rounded, incredibly calm, well finished and holds great muscle definition throughout his body. He has stood out from day 1 as a stout and performance based calf, he weighed 730 pounds in the middle of November and has continued to impress as we lay the food to him. As of now (May 5) he is pushing 1300 pounds. As this is my last year in 4-H I feel he represents my career in 4-H with pride as he carries himself so well and I am proud to show him against any other steer!

I would also like to say thank you to my last year buyer Nate Horner as he purchased my steer, I hope he tasted good!

Kennedi MacMillan This is my 4th year in 4-H and I was a Cleaver for 3 years before that. I am also raising 750 pheasants with my brothers and sister in the 4H Pheasant Project this year which is very exciting!

My calf is a home raised Simmental X Angus who weighed in at 720 pounds and is finishing well.

He is easy to work with and was pretty stubborn in the beginning but has come a long way, he even enjoys walking now.

A big thanks you to Pine Ridge Supply for purchasing my last year calf “94”.

Lane Andrus My name is Lane Andrus. I am part of the Dryland Multi 4-H Club and this is my seventh year in 4-H. I have a market steer this year and his name is Bruce. I really like my steer this year because he is quiet and gentle and was easy to halter break. He likes being scratched so it was easy to catch him and work with him.

As of April 20th, 2022 Bruce weighed 1245 pounds. I am pleased with the way my steer has turned out this year.

Kelly Laughlin Hi, my name is Kelly Laughlin and I am 11 years old.

This is my 3rd year with a market steer. This year I have a Simmental cross that I bought from Crossing Creek Cattle. He has been a real nice and easy steer to work with. My steer is wide and deep making him an excellent prospect to look at if you're wanting to fill your freezer or share with a friend. I last weighed him on April 25 and he tipped the scales at 1370 lbs. I really enjoyed being able to get back to regular 4-H activities this year and I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the show and sale this year! I'd like to send a big thank you to Chris Olsen from Westview Coop/Fox Lake Agro for buying my steer last year.

Keegan Conners My name is Keegan Conners and this is my 7th year in market steer 4-H. This year I also have a heifer project. My steer, Frank, is a home raised Limousin Angus cross. When I saw this steer in November at weaning, I was impressed with his conformation. At November 12th weigh in he was 680 lbs and on May 1st he weighed 1460 lbs. By Show and Sale he will be nicely finished.

Zoey Sinclair, Lane Laughlin and Josh Paisley This year the Dryland Multi Club has 3 cleaver members, they are Lane Laughlin, Zoey Sinclair and Josh Paisley. This is Lanes 2nd year as a cleaver and the first year for both Zoey and Josh. All three participated at our club speak offs and all did such a wonderful job. So far this year they have been able to enjoy our club Christmas party, awards night, speak offs, skiing and our club's annual clipping clinic where they were able to learn more about grooming, showmanship and have some hands-on experiences grooming while being mentored by older club members. These cleavers are looking forward to the show and sale in June and showing off their calves!

This year we are raising 750 pheasant chicks with Pheasant 4H. Through an agreement with the ACA (Alberta Conservation Association) members get day old chicks from McFarlane Pheasants in Wisconsin. We raise them and market the mature birds at the end of the program in Sept/Oct - mostly for release and hunts. We had a very successful year last year being fortunate to sell most of the birds for hunts in the fall while keeping about 40 over winter for release this spring. The birds are very robust this year and we look forward to a great experience once again.

Our club has had a fantastic year with 42 members from Sedalia, Cereal, Oyen, Sibbald, Bindloss and Esther. ESC is in it’s 65th year and the largest club in the East Central Region. We are proud of the dedication of our members and the quality of market steers that they have raised. We would like to Thank the many individuals and businesses that support 4-H and help to encourage our youth to explore and value agriculture. See you all June 11 & 12 in Hanna!

Ayden Andersen Hi my name is Ayden Andersen and this is my 4th year in 4-H. This year my calf’s name is Vladdy. I named him after one of my favorite baseball players. He is a Red Angus/Hereford Cross. The first time I tied him up I knew he was going to be very easy to lead and show, a gentle giant.

Gauge Murray Hi, my name is Gauge Murray and this is my Market Steer, Roman. This is my 3rd year in 4-H. Roman is a Fleckvieh Simmental. He was born in March 2021 and is finishing very nicely. I would like to thank Garnet Dewald and Shannon Linstra for purchasing my steer last year. I hope you will join us on June 11 at 7pm in Hanna but if you are unable to attend the sale you can also bid online on DLMS.

Avery Girletz Hi, I’m Avery, this is my 5th year in 4-H and this year my calf’s name is Chester. He is a tan Charolais Cross steer, who is gaining everyday. Chester is one of the best calves I’ve raised and hopefully all my hard work pays off. My calf is calm and leads well. I’ve been working on my calf and grooming him daily. Hopefully I will see you at the show, June 11th at the Hanna arena!

Sydnee Pedersen My name is Sydnee Pederson and this is my second year in 4-H. I’d like to thank Star West Trucking Ltd for purchasing my steer last year.

This is my Market Steer Ollie! Ollie is a Charolais X Angus steer. If you are looking for quality beef he is the one you are looking for!

When I weighed Ollie on April 19th he was 1478lbs. He is a well finished steer and will be sure to fill your freezer bull of enjoyable beef.

Olivia Mundt My name is Olivia Mundt! I have been in 4-H for 10 years. I am a senior member and the secretary for the East Sounding Creek 4-H Club. 4-H has taught me many valuable skills including leadership & animal stewardship.

This year I had the opportunity to advance to the Regional Public Speaking Competition which was an amazing experience! Many Thanks to Christianson Trucking for the purchase of my 2021 steer!

Warren Westerlund My name is Warren and I’m a first year junior member in our club. My steers name is Ricky Bobby and he is 3/4 Black Angus, 1/8 Hereford and 1/8 Longhorn. He might be short but he sure is dang fat! I picked Ricky Bobby to be my steer because he’s quiet, well built and has cool markings! It was fun to show him at the Crossroads Beef Expo in February. My favorite things about 4-H is learning about beef cattle and making new friends.

Hannah Wagstaff Hello, my name is Hannah Wagstaff and I am the Vice President of the club this year. I have been in the club for 9 years, I am currently a senior member. This year I have 3 projects; Market Steer, Female Herd and Carcass. My Market Steer is a big long Black Angus X Shorthorn. He is out of my 4 year old 4-H cow Dolly. His name is Spotlight because of the one spot on his back. My favorite part of 4-H is the grooming and clipping, I also really enjoy helping the younger members in and out of the show ring. Alyssa Andersen Hi my name is Alyssa Andersen-this is my 2nd year in 4H, this year my market steers name is Shadow. He is a Black Angus Hereford Cross. I picked him out of our herd. Shadow started out very stubborn and pushy-but now I can lead him pretty good! When I scratch his head he wiggles his butt and wags his tail. He is a good calf!

Garrett Murray Hi, my name is Garrett Murray and this is my Market Steer, Tiny Elvis. But depending on the day, and my Dads mood, Tiny Elvis may have different names. This is my second year in East Sounding Creek 4-H Beef Club. Tiny Elvis is a Fleckvieh Simmental who was born March 2021 and is finishing very nicely. I would like to Thank Crocus Investments and Tyler Evans for purchasing my steer last year. I hope you will be able to join us in June for Show and Sale!

Camrie Norris Hi, my name is Camrie Norris. This is my 2nd year in 4-H. This year my steer’s name is T-Bone, he is Charolais Angus from our herd. He weighed 1370lbs on April 19 with an average rate of gain of 4.44lbs/ day. If you are looking for some good quality beef, I have a steer for you! I would like to that last years buyers, Chad Olsen, Halfway Pizza and all the families that purchased a freezer pack. My steer was so big last year that he fed A LOT of families! Doug Westerlund My name is Doug and I’m a 3rd year junior member. This is my steer, George Strait, and like his namesake he is a classic! Classic Hereford that is!

I think this will be my biggest steer I’ve raised so far and I expect him to weigh around 1500 lbs on sale day. Earlier this year I had the opportunity to show my steer at the Crossroads Beef Expo which was a lot of fun. Thank you to Michels Canada for purchasing my steer last year.

Sadie Rude Hello my name is Sadie Rude, I belong to the East Sounding Creek Beef 4-H Club, this my 2nd year in 4-H and I love every minute of it!! This is my Show Steer named Slap Shot, I also have a Carcass Steer named Five Hole. I named them after how I got my very first goal this year in hockey. I’m happy that this year is back to normal.

This year I participated in the Oyen Beef Expo. I learnt so much, and had so much fun. Slap shot is a super quite Hereford/Char Cross who I Purchased from my dad. I would really like to say a Big THANK YOU to all past, present and future 4H buyers and especially Oyen Funeral Services for purchasing my very first steer last year. I really hope you can join me and the rest of my fellow 4-H members in person or on DLMS on June 11, 2022 in Hanna.

Olivia Wagstaff Hi! My name is Olivia Wagstaff and I have been in 4-H for 4 years. I participate in female, carcass and market steer project. Timmy is a Black Angus steer. He has always been fun to play around with and easy to work with. He has gained consistently through the year. Timmy is off my Dad’s Simmental X Angus cow and a purebred Black Angus Bull named Hulk from Acadia Ranching. He checked all the boxes when I was choosing my show steer. I took him to the Oyen Beef Expo in February and made it to the final round! I love being in 4-H because it has taught me to work as a team & make great friendships. Lennix Girletz My name is Lennix Girletz, this is my first year selling a market steer with my club, East Sounding Creek. My steers name is Knuckles, I named him that because when he was a baby he walked funny on his 2 front feet. Knuckles is a Charolais cross steer. Knuckles leads well. I really like grooming him and clipping his face.

Rhett Rude Hello My Name is Rhett Rude and this is my 5 th year in 4-H. I have 3 projects on the go this year so it keeps me busy. My Show Steer’s name is Brisby, he’s a Char/ Hereford Cross. A Heifer named Pamula and a 2 year old cow named Patricia. I am super excited to see that our club growing. This year I attended the Beef Expo with Brisby, we never placed but I learnt many new things. Danica Woods Hi! My name is Danica Woods and I have been in 4-H for 4 years. I am a senior in the East Sounding Creek 4-H Beef Club. This year I have a Female Herd, Carcass and Market Steer. I have held the secretary and treasurer positions within the club. Each year I learn so much about raising cattle, leadership and hard work.

Meet Benji! He is a moderate framed Black Simmental steer with a stocky square build. Benji was born to my own cow #2, so I am especially proud of how he has turned out! Benji and I placed 3rd overall in the youth steer class at the Oyen Beef Congress in February.

Joelle Mundt Hi, My name is Joelle Mundt and this is my second year in 4H. This year I am lucky enough to be the treasurer for our group, which allows me to be more involved and equips me with the knowledge that I can apply to everyday life. This is my steer, Milo, who is a Simmental/ Charolais cross. He is basically a large puppy dog that loves a scratch and is very easy to work with. Beckham Girletz Hello my name is Beckham and this is my 3rd year in 4-H. My calf’s name is Chicago. I named him Chicago because he is black with white Socks and Chicago’s MLB team is the “White Sox”. This year I am so proud of steer because he progressed in many different ways. Chicago has gained very well, he is always eating. He is very calm and cuddly. I liked him so much I bought his mother, as my first cow I own myself. Please join me and Chicago at the 4-H achievement day in Hanna on June 11.

Emma Westerlund My name is Emma and this is my 6th year in 4-H. My steer is a Hereford/Angus cross. I expect him to weigh around 1250lbs at show and sale time. He may not be the biggest steer in the sale but he is an economical size and will make the perfect sized tasty steaks. I really enjoyed showing my steer earlier this year at the Crossroads Beef Expo

Ridge Foot My name is Ridge Foot and this is my first year of 4-H. My show steer calf’s name is Ferris. He is home raised, Charolais sired, & out of a red Angus & Simmental cross cow.

He is a very cool red roan colour. I like how calm Ferris is & how unique he looks. I am very excited for my very first 4H show & sale in Hanna on Saturday June 11th.

Dylan Woods Meet Pablo! This guy is a big heavy framed brute! He comes from a home raised consistent cow that always produces stalky powerful calves.

Don’t let his big ears fool you he’s not Brahma but a good solid Simmental X. Pablo has had a nice steady rate of gain of 4.4 lbs/day. Pablo is guaranteed to fill your freezer with top notched beef & keep your family fed and happy!

Brianna Lyster My name is Brianna Lyster and this is my first year in 4-H. My steer “Moonie” is a moderate framed, thick Simmental steer. I picked him because he has a white Moon shape on his forehead and some white on his tail. I’m excited for my first show and sale and look forward to seeing you on June 11 in Hanna, AB.

Haylee Wagstaff Hi! My name is Haylee Wagstaff and this is my 6th year in East Sounding Creek 4-H Beef Club. My steer is off of my cow named Piglet. Domino’s dam is Shorthorn X Sim/ Angus, his sire is Black Angus. He is a very lengthy steer and has a big frame. I know he was going to be my show steer once he was bigger than the rest. Domino’s was born with such a big frame. He was the second biggest C-section in Oyen last year at 161 lbs. I joined 4-H because I get to expand my 4-H herd, get to get my steer all ready for show and sale. My show steer (Domino) will provide your family with many delicious meals.

Keaton Duque Hi, my name is Keaton Duque and I have been in 4-H for the past 2 years. I really like everything about it! I have a red Limousin steer this year and his name is Hot Sauce (because he is red like hot sauce;) I am really excited to be in the showring right beside my calf! He is always the first one to the feeder.

Hot Sauces favorite thing is a good brisket scratch. I hope to see you on June 11th!

Tanika Brockmann Greetings! My name is Tanika Brockmann. I am an intermediate member of the East Sounding Creek 4H Club. I am 12 yrs old and have been in 4H for two years now. I would like to express my gratitude and thank my buyer from last year for their appreciation and support. This year I have a red Charolais cross named Bennie. He weighed about 1145 lbs in April. Me and my calf have been working really hard and he has really improved from the start of the year. I have been working with my steer a lot and am really looking forward to an in person show and sale day this year. I look forward to seeing everyone at the show and hope my calf will do well.

Damian Brockmann My name is Damian Brockmann and this is my 2nd year in 4H. My calf's name is Bingo, a CharX. I chose him out of our herd because he was tall and long and had lots of room to grow. He will certainly fill a freezer!

Cash Norris Hi, my name is Cash Norris. I am the president of the East Sounding Creek 4-H club and VicePresident and Key Member for the Hanna District.

This is my 5th year in 4-H. This year I am selling a grey white faced Charolais Cross steer named Slick.

He weighed 1508lbs on April 19 with an average daily gain of 5.01 lbs. If you are looking for some delicious beef, you won’t be disappointed. Brandt Lyster My name is Brandt Lyster and this is my third year in 4-H. My steer “Curly Skittles” is a big red Simmental steer and he comes from a really good cow and bull. My steers rate of gain is 4.37 pounds a day. I chose him because he was a steer that stood out in the pen and he was very quiet. They have been working on cattle related learning crafts, spent an afternoon with the Prairie View Hutterite Colony touring the pig barns, learned to halter a calf and took part in public speaking! Each of these kids is very excited to show their baby calves at the Show & Sale in June!
