For 2023 we will be hosting the Online auction onsite at the Diamond Centre in an effort to allow you to view the bulls, join in some great hospitality and bid on your Phone or to the Sale Representative Onsite during the sale close.
Onsite Bidding Option – Join us onsite and you can bid to a NCL / DLMS Rep onsite. After your bid is turned in to the onsite rep they will bid on your behalf online in the Racehorse Auction. Or if you are onsite and want to create an account and bid on your phone we will have Wi-Fi onsite for bidding on your smartphone.
Online Bidding Option – As you have in the past you can simply follow the instructions below and bid on the lots after the sale opens and until the close starts at 2:00 PM Sale day.
1. Visit www.dlms.ca , scroll down sale list to find the sale you are interested in bidding on. Click on the sale listing and you will be taken to the FarmGate Timed Auction Sale page.
2. After you are at the FarmGate Timed auction site - farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button.
First time FarmgGate users:
- First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. (please note due to some of the text notification features the FarmGate Time Auction Site requires a new account separate account from your DLMS Live sale site)
- After you create your FarmGate account you will receive a txt message with a pin code to verify your account.
- On your first log in to FarmGate Timed auctions we recommend you go to your profile and confirm your notifications are set to YES. This allows the site to send you text and/or email notifications when you are out bid and if there is activity on your favorite lots.
Returning FarmgGate users:
- If you have used Farm Gate Timed auctions in the past simply enter your user name and password to continue. After you have logged in you are able to browse the timed auctions on DLMS FarmGate Timed Auctions.
3. How to Bid
Now that you are logged in and your account phone number / email is verified you are able to bid on an upcoming sale. Simply find the lot you are interested in bidding on. After you have found the lot there are 2 options for bidding on the lot.
- Place Next Bid – to place the next bid on the item, you see the amount in the first box, you simply click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed.
- Max Bid Amount – to place a max bid you put your max bid in the second box listed as “Max Bid” on the item, and then click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed as the next bid. With the Max Bid placed the computer will then keep you as the high bidder to the max amount you have placed. This can be a great feature if you are not able to give 100% attention to the sale close out and protect your interest so you do not miss out on any lots you want to purchase. The Max Bid amount is completely confidential from the seller during the sale process.
Example of How the Max Bid Works - If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest. Please note that in some cases a lot value can change very quickly if 2 max bids are placed on the same lot competing against each other.
4. Watch List Feature
If you have items in multiple auctions or only a few from the same auction that you want to watch with out having to scroll through the entire list you can add the lots to your watchlist. On each lot you will see the “eye” button beside the bid button, by clicking this “watchlist” Icon that item is added to your personal watchlist for easy viewing of just your favorite lots in this sale or on the entire site.
5. Sale Ending / Closeout
Most FarmGate Timed Auction sales close racehorse style with extended bidding. What is Racehorse Style Close?
Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding. How will Extended Bidding works?
When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.
6. Bidding Close & Follow-up
After the clock has gone to “ENDED” and no bidding has occurred for 5 min (or the current time on the clock goes to 0) the computer will declare the sale finished. Following the close typically within 24 hours of the sale close the sale consignor will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and delivery/Pick up of your lot. Or as the winning bidding you can contact the sale consignor / sale manager to confirm payment instructions.
Please make sure that your account info is up-to-date and correct if you are the winning bidder of a lot as this is how the billing is sent to Sale manager and/or Sale consignor.

This is an impressive made bull. Attractive head, great feet, beefy! He is one to really take notice of. His mother Is a nice uddered, good footed low maintenance cow, who comes from a long powerful line of KIN KIN females. His father is the elite $120000 bull SVS BETTS, well know for producing calves just like this! This will be an exceptional herd sire, producing highly marketable calves and females built to last. Homopolled as well!

Wow! This is an incredible herdsire in the making! A well balanced, big hipped, soggy bull who's one of the first to be noticed in the pen. These 22L calves topped both our bull and heifer pens this year, and this guy is no exception. Scurred.

Long as a train, out of the oldest cow on the farm. his dam is 12 years young this year and still maintains a good udder, always breeds back and has perfect feet. The sire is the well known SVS BETTS, a bull known for easy fleshing and a fabulous dam. You get the best of both worlds with this bull, calves that will gain, and females that last. All wrapped up in a homo polled package.

impressive cows. She herself is a well made cow, our number 2 gainer of her year, being a daughter of the late State of War, and Kin 4H who raised our heaviest bull calf. This bull is extraordinary, and a great example of our Kin 22L calves. Kin 22L calves topped both the heifer pen and bull pen, competing and dominating against some impressive AI bulls. 67N is above average in 11 EPD traits. If you’re looking to add pounds to your calves, and females that produce, check out this young prospect! Added Bonus he is black with a stylish white face.

This bull is Sired by the Legendary, Hart State of War, who has very limited semen left. He has Sired over 1100 calves, and they continue to top sales and shows. This calf also comes from a very impressive cow line. His mother is in the top of the breed for Milk and performance. He also boasts an impressive EPD profile If you want calves that grow, this curly, thick bull is your guy! His mother also raised our number 1 gainer last year. Homopolled!

This smoothe made jet black bull is a son of the influential MR SR HIGHLIFE. Highlife calves are made well and grow like bad weeds. His mother is a moderate framed promising young heifer, with a beautiful udder. He is homo black and homo polled, so he will only give you polled, black calves!

We always strive to have heifers lay down, calve unassisted, raise a big calf, and calve in the first cycle the following year. That is what this guy’s dam did. Top 10% for birth weight and calving ease. Top 35% for milk. Top 15% for maternal calving ease. This guy is smooth through the front end with nice neck extension. He is long with exceptional growth. He could work in the heifer pen or cow pen.

Top 4% for calving ease. Top 10% for birth weight. Top 25% for weaning weight and milk. Top 15% for yearling weight. Top 3% for maternal calving ease. He ranks in the Top 25% on every measurable trait. I have used Highlife for a number of years now, calving his daughters out this year, and they are amazing. He has consistently given me unassisted calves at birth that get up and go. They also have outstanding weaning weights in the fall. This bull checks so many boxes.

Top 4% for calving ease, birth weight, and yearling weight. Top 5% for weaning weight. Top 3% for maternal calving ease. Top 1% for TI and API. All year I have struggled with whether I am keeping him for my heifer pen or letting him go in the sale. It doesn’t matter if you look at EPDs or phenotype — he has it all. He is off a first-calver that I absolutely love, that did an unreal job on her first try, calving again this year in the first cycle. His granddam was one of my favourite cows, raising many sale features. His great-granddam was one of my favourite Hereford cows that I bought from Brian Becker. I still haven’t truly decided if I want to let him go or not. I will be keeping an in-herd semen package on him to use on my heifers.

Top 30% for weaning weight. Style and power. He is long-made with good neck extension and a nice head. We used his sire in our heifer pen for two years and he is now working in our cow pen.
