Charity Steer for Sale
My name is Lauren Sloan and I’m a member of the Boscombe 4-H Multi-Club. I am offering my calf, Angus, for sale on behalf of the ONE2MANY non-profit organization.
The ONE2MANY non-profit organization has been providing temporary accommodations to the families of patients that have to stay in Calgary for an extended period of time to receive health care treatments. My dad, Frank Sloan Sr., benefited from the kindness of the Moses host family when he had to go to Foothills Hospital in Calgary for a stem cell transplant. My dad had a rare type of blood cancer called Primary Myelofibrosis and the treatment for this cancer is a stem cell transplant. Foothills Hospital is the only hospital in Alberta that does stem cell transplants and one of the protocols is that patients must stay in Calgary for a minimum of 100 days following the transplant for follow up treatment and to ensure that the graft is successful. My dad and mom were in Calgary from October 2, 2017 to May 20, 2018 and stayed at the Moses family host condo. They were never charged any money and the host family extended their kindness beyond providing accommodation to make sure that my mom was taken care of too with meals and other kindnesses shown.
Since 2020, ONE2MANY has been providing temporary accommodations and many families throughout the province have benefited from their generosity and kindness. We would like to give back to them so they can continue to help other families who may need temporary accommodations. I would also like to thank my brother, Chris Sloan, and Sloan Cattle Company for helping me with this project by donating feed for Angus.
