Now, more than ever, it is a great time to be in the cattle industry. Strong markets and increasing demand for high-quality cattle make genetics, efficiency, and performance more important than ever. This year we are offering 130 Angus bulls that will help you take advantage of the opportunities ahead and the functionality to keep your cowherd on the right track.
A key change this year is the relocation of our sale to Kist Livestock in Mandan, ND. While we have always enjoyed hosting you at the Ranch, we believe this move provides a more convenient and comfortable setting for both buyers and cattle. We look forward to seeing you there and making this transition a positive experience for all.
We also invite you to visit the ranch any time through April 7th to go through the bulls more thoroughly and view the cowherd. We welcome the opportunity to show you the offering firsthand and discussing your goals and how we can work together to achieve them. April 9th through sale day the bulls will be available to view at Kist Livestock.

Livestock Mortality Insurance is extended to indemnify the livestock owner for loss as a result of the death of an animal from natural causes, disease, accident or humane destruction to alleviate incurable and inhumane suffering resulting from a covered peril.
OPTION 2: ARM + Accidental External Injury (ACC) – 80% Indemnity | Bulls only | $10,000+ then 12.5%
Mortality coverage plus coverage for injury causing Permanent infertility (broken penis or stifle). Requires a current Veterinary Certification (not over 30 days old).
OPTION 3: ARM + Accident Sickness & Disease Infertility (ASD) – 80% Indemnity | Bulls Only | $24,999 MAX
Mortality Coverage plus coverage for injury causing Permanent Infertility (broken penis or stifle). In addition to coverage above, this also includes Total and Permanent Infertility (fever or infections causing infertility or disease). Requires a current Breeding Soundness Evaluation (not over 30 days old).
OPTION 4: ARM + Comprehensive Infertility (COMP) – 85% Indemnity | Bulls Only | $25,000+ then 17%
Covers all of the above, plus Frozen Testicles, Testicular Degeneration and infertility caused by abnormalities. Also pays 20% of insured value for temporary infertility of 21 days or more. This does not replace the Breeder’s Guarantee. Requires a current Breeding Soundness Evaluation (not over 30 days old).

Topp Angus guarantees our bulls to be fertile and reproductively sound in accordance with the terms and conditions as recommended by the American Angus Association, found online at https://www.angus.org/Pub/suggested_sale_terms.pdf ?v=1. In the event of an issue, the buyer is responsible to have the animal evaluated by a qualified veterinarian or return the animal to Topp Angus. If it does not respond as a satisfactory breeder within a reasonable time frame the buyer will have the option to select a suitable replacement, if available, or take a sale credit. Any potential claim needs to be made by October 15th of the year of purchase.
DELIVERY
Insurance available sale day through Martin-Trudeau Insurance.
All bulls are semen checked and ready to take home sale day. Haul your purchase home sale day and receive a $100/lot discount. Delivery will begin the day after the sale. Bulls will be delivered free of charge within a 600 miles radius of Kist Livestock and at cost after that.
SEMEN EVALUATION
Topp Angus will retain in-herd semen use on all bulls selling. Full possession and semen revenue interest will sell on all lots unless noted otherwise. Topp Angus assumes no liability for accidents or injuries that occur on the sale premises.

Topp Angus is a purebred Angus seedstock operation located north of Grace City, North Dakota, owned and operated by Paul, his wife Jess, and their children Hudson (19), Sienna (16), and Holden (7).
Although 3rd and 4th generation ranchers, Topp Angus is a 1st generation ranch. Being a first-generation ranch, growing our herd, building from the ground up, all while raising a family, we know all too well the cost of production and how tight margins can be. We expect live healthy calves, we weed out inefficiencies out of necessity, and most importantly we expect a herd that can excel in production consistently.
Topp Angus began in 2010 with the procurement of 40 cows from TC Ranch out of Nebraska and has grown today to over 400 cows being calved out over two different calving seasons – January/February and August/ September. With our location and extreme weather variation calf vigor, substance, and grit play a huge role in our genetic selections. We cannot guarantee life will be perfect for these cattle and expect animals that have a strong will to survive and thrive no matter the conditions.
We built our herd using a strong base, researched genetics, strict culling, and a commitment to detail in all aspects of the operation. We utilize embryo transplant, A.I., purchased herd sires, and ranch raised sires to create continued genetic advancement focused on fundamentals and balance. We believe in consistency from top to bottom and require our turn-out sires to be every bit as good as the best A.I. sires on the market.
We have our annual bull sale in April, where we market 130, 14 & 20-month-old bulls and sell another 40-50 bulls private treaty throughout the spring. Females are marketed private treaty from our ranch direct to our customers throughout the year. We do not believe in keeping 50% of our bulls and heifers, we believe in having a cowherd that never misses. We will not chase the latest fads but continue with balanced genetics that we can guarantee will improve your herd for many generations to come.
