Hello from M3 Marketing and welcome again to the National Western Stock Show! It is an honor to help bring you an outstanding set of genetics representing the elite of the Simmental breed from across the country. I would like to thank the consignors from coast to coast for allowing us to showcase their programs at the Super Bowl of Cattle Events, The National Western Stock Show. This is truly a representation of the entire Simmental breed in this offering, and I encourage you to look closely through this catalog, from the first lot to the last lot, to see what can be incorporated into your program.

Our first year back at the National Western Stock Show last year was astounding to say the least. The Stockyards Event Center at the NWSS could not be classier, better designed or more user-friendly. You will not appreciate the detail that went into this facility until you see it for yourself. It is truly state-of-the-art. The staff at the NWSS should be commended as well, as the customer service has been taken to a whole new level catering to the needs of the exhibitors at a level not seen at a major stock show. Leon Vick and Jennifer Boka and the rest of the staff have been extremely helpful to make sure this event is as good as it can be and it is greatly appreciated. I would like to thank the Colorado Simmental Association for asking me to take the take this esteemed event, with so much rich history of breed-leading genetics, and continue the legacy. Willie Altenburg, Susan Russell, Paul Hill and the rest of the Board of Directors and membership are completely committed to making this an event that the entire country of Simmental breeders would want to be involved in. Their commitment and dedication to the breed as a state association is second to none.

I would like to thank all of the consignors, breeders, bidders and buyers who had faith in this event last year to make it work. The success of last year has spring boarded the interest into this year. As of this catalog the yard shows are at maximum capacity in multiple breeds. The enthusiasm and need for a successful event of this kind and magnitude has never been higher in the industry. The buzz and excitement are for real. The new “Hill” facility is well underway, please forgive the construction as you attend the NWSS this year. But in the next two years you will see something special blossom and there will not be another venue like it in the country. It will solidify why the National Western Stock Show is the “Granddaddy of ‘em ALL”. Please do not hesitate to reach out. We look forward to seeing you in January.

2024 People’s Choice Power Simmental

Kent and Linda Frenzen of Silver Creek, NE selected HILB Vivid Diamond K16 as the Power Simmental Choice. She will be the foundation for son Jacob’s herd. Frenzen got full possession of the female, and the breeder, Hilbrands Cattle Co., received $10,000.

ATTEND THE 19TH ANNUAL POWER SIMMENTAL EVENT AT THE 2024 NATIONAL WESTERN STOCK SHOW SIMMENTAL PEN SHOW! The 2024 People’s Choice Power Simmental is set for the National Western Stock Show. The judging will be Saturday, January 13 and Sunday, Janauary 14. The finale will be at The One & Only Sale on January 14 at the National Western Stock Show, Denver, CO. Remember FOR JUST $100, YOU CAN BE THE JUDGE! From designated animals in the Simmental pen show, you and other members of the crowd can enter the ring and cast your ballot for “People’s Choice” of the top bulls and females in that division. Judging is conducted after each pen division on January 13-14, 2024. The top females and bulls will be announced on Sunday, Janaury 14, at the Simmental Bull Pen Show. Then the lucky winner will be announced at “The One and Only” National Western Simmental Sale at 2 pm after the pen show. In front of the packed sale crowd, the winner selects “the best bull or female of the show!” The winner receives the female or bull of their choice and the breeder receives $10,000.
