Welcome, once again, to our annual bull and female sale. It seems like yesterday we were planning delivery trips from last year’s sale! Bridle Bit Simmentals continue to hang our hats on collecting important economically relevant data. My father, Erroll, instilled this in our program many years ago. At that time, birth weight, weaning weight, and yearling weight were virtually the only data reported. The American Simmental Association has continued to be groundbreaking in assisting breeders to advance. We have taken full advantage of this. All bulls will be sold with genomic enhanced EPDs, which lends to an easier selection tool for our customers. We go a step further by providing Right Choice Accreditation, see page 3. We are also still collecting carcass ultrasound data on every calf in the sale. This is our second year of collecting feed efficiency data through our own system, and our sixth year of collecting such data. We feel we have a head start on the future of the seed stock business.
