Annual Production Sale March 28, 2026 1:00 pm • Hanover, IL
Commercially raised seedstock built for both commercial and purebred production and longevity.
Welcome to the Wildberry Farms 2026 annual bull and heifer sale. While this sale mirrors our past events, this year we are missing my father Jim Berry, who isn’t here to greet everyone and share his enthusiasm for the day. Although Dad is no longer with us, the farm continues to operate as always. Mom comes to the farm every day to support our team Ben, Jim, Dean, and Peyton, ensuring they have everything they need to care for the farm and the cattle. And our family is committed to carrying on Dad’s vision of raising cattle that continues to build on and improve the genetics of the cattle at Wildberry Farms.
This year’s sale would not be possible without the hard work and commitment of our team. Ben Lehman has taken on the additional responsibilities of managing operations of the farm to ensure our cattle sales continue in the tradition established by Dad. Dean Elder continues his work to prepare the bulls and heifers for our sale today. And thanks to the steady efforts of Jim Boop and Peyton Foster, everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Thank you for coming today and participating in this much anticipated sale. We are looking forward to a strong future at Wildberry Farms.
Sincerely,
Rob Berry and the Berry Family

WE WOULD LOVE TO SHOW YOU THE BULLS AT THE FARM. IF POSSIBLE, COME BEFORE THE SALE AND TAKE YOUR TIME EVALUATING THE BULLS. FEEL FREE TO DROP BY AT YOUR CONVENIENCE.

Thank you for your interest in our program. We understand there are many sales across the country, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to evaluate our offering. We are proud of this set of cattle and believe Jim would be too. Jim’s favorite philosophy was to “raise the cattle so they’ll work anywhere,” and I feel this set is developed to do just that. It’s always humbling to hear and see how other places manage their herds across the country. We truly enjoy hearing when our bulls and females have success for customers everywhere from Montana to south Alabama.
The calves were weaned in late August with no creep feed; weaned on hand-fed a 1% body weight grain mix with free-choice grass hay until late October. Once transitioned to a TMR ration (46 NEG based on haylage, grass hay, silage, and wet corn gluten), the bulls were turned into a 40-acre fescue-based pasture to provide plenty of exercise. This development and ration remain consistent through sale day to ensure the bulls are not pushed for excessive gain. This year, they remained on pasture until late January. As indicated by the scan data, these bulls are kept lean and in hard condition, ensuring they are ready to work when breeding season arrives.
We stand behind our offering 100%. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any issues, as we understand the unpredictability of working with livestock.
Jim’s passion was to produce trouble-free, predictable cattle, and we hope you find exactly that in this offering. This place doesn’t run without our crew either, Dean, who lives in the calving barn this time of year with Brian Boop who helps every calving season. Jim Boop keeps everything working and clean in the winter and Peyton is learning to help wherever he is needed. I also want to extend a special thank you to Ann, Rob, and the entire Berry family from all of us, for continuing Jim’s legacy with Wildberry Farms.
Thank you again and we look forward to talking cattle with you, Ban Lehman, Cattle Manager

Most of you know the impact that WBF Grace F426 has had on our program. When we finally convinced Jim to flush her after she raised WBF Undisputed L078 who went to Triangle J in Nebraska it was a clear we wanted to take her to bulls that were predictable and matched our goals as a program. As you evaluate these bulls from 4 different sires you’ll notice the consistency the cow side brings in. The KBHR Global brothers have the look of their dam being bold ribbed, deep bodied, extremely thick, and extra muscle. Stacking WBF Grace F426 with Kellers BAR CK MS X38 106Z and then Sugar C4 makes these bulls maternal prowess for production Simmentals second to none. Lot 1 has stood out from day one and we’ve admired him from every aspect throughout his development.

Lot 3 is special, plain and simple. We had seen enough Essential cattle to come to the conclusion he would work great with Grace on paper and physically. He is exactly what we had envisioned while making the mating to Essential. Massive from every angle, breed leading growth, depth of body and rib shape that sometimes eludes Essential offspring. Lots 3, 4, & 5 are each very good individuals in their own right and will all increase the bottom line to whomever makes the investment.

This pair of American Proud ET brothers were made because of the mating flexibility and outcross potential they would provide to the Simmental population (mainly for the females) They are half brothers to the Select Sires/All Beef bull LRS DUTTON 611K who has been widely used. Lot 6 offers an EPD profile that really exemplifies what we strive for here. 12 EPDs in the top 20% or higher culminating a 184+ API and 100+ TI. Genomics say Lot 7 carries a little more birth weight than Lot 6 but is a little bigger framed with the same qualities for growth, Stay, Doc, and Marb.

Another flush mating to make outcross genetics that are functional and sound and hold up on paper too. Lot 8 was the only blaze bull we got from the flush, but he’s as complete physically as any and his EPD profile puts 13 traits in the top 1/3 of the breed or higher. Lot 9 might be more attractive than most while still carrying a top 15% API and TI with high marks for YW, ADG, Stay, DOC, and Marb.

EXPECTED PROGENY DIFFERENCES (EPDS): EPDs are the most accurate and effective tool available for comparing genetic levels. In using EPDs, the difference between two sires’ EPDs represents the unit difference expected in the performance of their progeny. For example, if sires A and B have EPDs of +10 and -5, a 15-unit difference would be expected in their progeny (moving from -5 to +10 yields 15 units). Key to using EPDs is knowing in what units they are expressed. For example, if the above case referred to weaning weight EPDs, sire A would be expected to sire 15 pounds more weaning weight than sire B. If calving ease was the trait, sire A would be expected to sire 15 percent more unassisted births in first-calf heifers; in other words, if sire B sired 30 assists in a group of 100 heifers, we would expect sire A to require 15 assists. A percentile-ranking chart is required to determine where a bull’s EPDs rank him relative to other bulls in the breed. For more detailed information about EPDs and $ indexes, visit www.Simmental.org.
Listed below are the units in which ASA EPDs are expressed:
ALL-PURPOSE INDEX (API): Dollars per cow exposed under an all-purpose-sire scenario.
BACK FAT (BF): Inches of carcass backfat at 475 days.
BIRTH WEIGHT (BW): Pounds of birth weight.
CALVING EASE (CE): Percent of unassisted births when used on heifers.
CARCASS WEIGHT (CW): Pounds of carcass weight at 475 days.
DOCILITY (DOC): Percent of offspring receiving a disposition score of 1 (docile).
MATERNAL CALVING EASE (MCE): Percent of unassisted births in first-calving daughters.
MILK (MLK): Pounds of weaning weight due to milk.
MARBLING (MARB): Carcass marbling score at 475 days.
MATERNAL WEANING WEIGHT (MWW): Pounds of weaning weight due to milk and growth.
RIBEYE AREA (REA): Square inches of carcass ribeye at 475 days.
TERMINAL INDEX (TI): Dollars per cow exposed under a terminal-sire scenario.
WEANING WEIGHT (WW): Pounds of weaning weight.
YEARLING WEIGHT (YW): Pounds of yearling weight.
YIELD GRADE (YG): Carcass yield grade score at 475 days.

$ INDEXES: Though EPDs allow for the comparison of genetic levels for many economically important traits, they only provide pieces of the economic puzzle. This is where $ indexes come in. Through well-conceived, rigorous mathematical computation, $ indexes blend EPDs and economics to estimate an animal’s overall impact on integrated commercial production. The same technology that led to the dramatic progress in swine, poultry and dairy genetics over the last several decades was used to develop the following $ indexes:
ALL-PURPOSE INDEX (API): Evaluates sires for use on the entire cow herd (bred to both Angus first-calf heifers and mature cows) with the portion of their daughters required to maintain herd size retained and the remaining heifers and steers put on feed and sold grade and yield.
TERMINAL INDEX (TI): Evaluates sires for use on mature Angus cows with all offspring put on feed and sold grade and yield.
For more detailed information about EPDs and $indexes, visit: www.Simmental.org

Things will be a little different this year at Wildberry Farms sale. Missing and honoring Jim at the same time will definitely set a different tone after so many years of his leadership and friendship. The family will all be there, the talented crew that is carrying on the tradition will be there, the cattle will be there and we know the great and repeat customers of Wildberry will all be there. I just know that Jim will be there too. He wouldn’t want to miss this extraordinary time in the beef business any more than he would want to miss all of his friends and family.
As for the cattle, they are the best ever offered here both genetically and physically. So many years of pushing the improvement envelope to ensure customer success have led to a special set of bulls and females designed to promote the profitability and success of every phase of the beef business.
On behalf of Allied, the Berry family and everyone involved with the operation and sale, we hope you will be with us sale day to fill your cattle needs and celebrate the more important things in life.
