WOW Time flies! It’s hard to believe that it’s time for another bull sale. Every year I struggle with what to say in this invitation. It’s hard to put into words what this industry and the people involved in it mean to us. The supply chain that we’re all apart of might be the most important industry there is to the human race. If we can’t feed our people, what would this world look like? Knowing a Chain is only as strong as the weakest link, we believe and work every day to be the strongest link in the chain. Every day we consciously think about how we can make the best seedstock available for our customers. We begin with using RightMate and RightBull to eliminate any hidden pitfalls. Breeding decision are made to create Sound, Functional Cattle with good feet, udders and the ability to perform. Then the bulls are developed the absolute best way we know how for longevity. After that, we have their Genotypes analyzed and a RightChoice score & Badge assigned for your convenience and decision making. We take our job in the Beef Supply Chain very serious. It’s our belief that we have to concern ourselves with everyone’s livelihoods and how our product effects them down chain.
As an added bonus this year we’ve added some females. We will be selling 5 really nice Registered females right out of our Replacements. We will also have 50 commercial replacements from long time customers Kent and Shelli Haun of Riverton, WY. Kent has boughten bulls off the front of our sale for years and all these heifers are sired by BSUM bulls.
We are very proud of the offering this year. Like we say, Uniformity in large numbers is what we strive for. Whether you need 1 or 20 bulls you can find them here that all look alike. I hope everyone feels welcome to come be with us on March 20th. It’s the best day of the year for us, not because of the sale, but because we get to hangout and visit with our friends and neighbors for a bit.
Hopefully you can join us.
Blessings,

Welcome to the 2026 Black Summit Cattle annual bull sale. This offering is their best and deepest set of bulls offered to date. The LaFollette’s have invested decades of breeding to produce this excellent set of bulls for your selection. When you come to Black Summit Cattle Co you can expect to find cattle that work in our western environment. They put extensive selection pressure on structure, udder quality, and fertility and they want these traits in a package that is phenotypically correct. When you view this set of bulls you will see that they represent what you come to expect from Simmental and SimAngus genetics like muscle and performance, but what makes this program excel is that these bulls are in a very eye appealing and correct package. These bulls will produce calves that add pounds, and their daughters will make top of the line replacement females. Not to mention they will do all of this along with producing cattle that have the eye appeal to catch the attention of the most discriminating buyer. With all the great data and tools that we have today we can’t forget about cattle that have the ideal look, and this set of bulls has it. However, these bulls are not just phenotypic standouts they have checked all the boxes for all the data that Black Summit collects to continue genetic improvement. They have all the DNA done and have RightChoice information available. If you are unfamiliar with RightChoice please see the explanation in this catalog. Plus the bulls have been PAP tested and ready to work in elevation. All of the work has been done and they are ready to go to work for you.
We are experiencing some of the best times in the history of the cattle business. 2025 set new price records and it appears that we will see new records in 2026. Our nation’s cow herd is at the lowest inventory since records have been kept. There is tremendous opportunity for producers who are able and willing to take advantage of these high prices. However, it is critical that when we rebuild this nation’s cow herd that we do it with the right kind of cattle. As we make females for the future, we must not loose sight that the consumer wants to purchase and eat high quality beef. We also need to keep in mind that with higher priced females we need to purchase and produce cows that will be productive for a long time. The quality of cattle in the Black Summit program will get you there.
If you have any questions about the offering or need assistance sale day please reach out to any of us on the Allied team.
Sincerely, Marty Ropp, Corey Wilkins and Jared Murnin

The commercial heifers are all sired by Black Summit bulls and are out of commerical Angus cows from long-time customer Kent and Shelli Haun from Riverton, WY. Kent has always appreciated cattle with great phenotype. He has raised and sold many champion show heifers and steers all across the country. We know some of these heifers can be bred a bunch of different ways so we are offering them in 10 lots of 5 head with the high bidder on each lot having the option take 1 choice heifer then we’ll sell the other 4, or take all 5 at the gavel price. If the winning bid takes all 5, they have the option to take as many full pens as they need, and up to all the heifers remaining.
