Talk about exciting times in the beef industry and more specifically the Hereford breed. The North American beef industry is poised to change, as we have never known it. With inventories lower than in the past six decades, supply will struggle to keep with demand. That, paired with a record crop in our part of the world, has pushed feeder cattle to record levels. This will also be reflected in upcoming bull sales. The Hereford breed is experiencing demand not seen in twenty five years in Canada and for those of you south of the forty ninth parallel, the demand for Hereford seed stock is likely stronger than it has ever been. I recently heard that a Montana Angus tour had to change its dates to accommodate breeders that were planning to attend a Hereford sale …that speaks loudly! Here at home the Canadian Hereford Association has announced the hiring of a new general manager, which is exciting, as we look to this man’s guidance leading into the next generation of technologically advanced beef production by a younger generation of breeders. This year’s offering is led by some young exciting herd sire prospects that were sired by former Agribition Champions. Any one of these bulls will offer a degree of consistency and predictability backed up by proven sires and the best cow families both programs have to offer. There are only two bred heifers in the sale, both have strong material traits that you can take home and start a new cow family with. The heifer calves will be competitive at any level, whether you are a junior competing in the toughest junior show in Canada (Bonanza) or a senior. A young heifer calf out of last year’s sale went on to win her division in the show the next day and won her class in Denver for her new owner. As always Agribition is a must attend for those serious about the Hereford breed. From what I have seen in my travels, this will be one of the strongest shows we have had in awhile. If we at T Bar C may be off any assistance prior to or sale day feel free to call Shane, Ted or myself. See you in the Queen city.

Sired by the former Agribition Champion Eli and out of a daughter of the Supreme Champion, Beyond. Double Double shows extreme thickness and muscle shape, he offers extra length of body and yet has the softness and lower third we need in the industry to make cattle efficient convertors. This herdsire prospect will give you added performance combined with extremely high maternal traits.
Eli 10H - Sire of 301A
These two sons of National Champion Untapped are both very high in quality. They are big hipped, stout made individuals with added shape and dimension. 8A is a dark colored bull with extra pigmentation. His mother is an excellent producer with great milk flow. 37A conservatively marked with added performance, his mother is one of our top young donors. We feel both these young individuals will make a positive impact.

After picking our fall sale offering, 288A started to really be one to watch at Blair Athol. We are so impressed with our Plainsman calves and after you study the string at Agribition, I think you`ll understand why. 288A will definitely handle some serious competition in the showring. Long fronted, bold sprung and extremely thick when you get behind her. To put a cherry on top of all that, 288A is also a maternal sister to Heater. Anyone who has been following our program knows the impact Heater has had in the past couple years. Bid with confidence. Owned with Robert Bestrop

Sammi is the product of a very consistent cow family. There is performance here as well as very good udders, smaller teats and good support with all 4 quarters level. We have no doubt that this one will make a cow, it is mandatory at our ranch. Several breeders think she could show , you be the judge .Our show ring is a couple thousand acres and mother nature does a lot of our sorting. Sammi is a nice calf with nice numbers.

Super EPDs! Unbelieveable temperament. Amy has the depth, middle, shape, bone and hair coat that every great brood matron needs. Starlet 9N was a high-grossing brood matron along with her offspring at the Remitall dispersal and is now a top producing donor cow at Phantom Creek Livestock. She has multiple progeny working throughout Canada and consistently produces thick, easy doing sons and daughters no matter what sire is used. Look at the spread from birth to yearling weight and top it off with a total maternal pushing the mid 50’s and you know you have something great to work with!!

We are proud to be consigning to the National Hereford Sale again this year. We again are sending our only female consignment of the year to the Agribition sale. She is a special looking female and has stood high among our calves since early in the spring. She is sired by our senior herd sire WLB Rembradt 83T. He has been a consistent producer for us and has helped us build a foundation at home. Her mother has been a great young cow for us. She has made the cuts that we have done to our cow herd and matured into a female we are proud to have in our cow herd. She was purchased as a calf from Bar-H with her mother and they both produced well for us. We are sure she will turn into a cow that will produce and we welcome any inquiries by phone, email, or Facebook. Stop by the stall and see this lady for yourself.

Directly from the replacement pen, we picked this heifer to represent the genetics we are currently showcasing at home. Stylish and perfectly marked, this heifer is out of one of our best Torant females, all of which are wildly consistent and flat out awesome cows. She will be perfect uddered, and will display the style and capacity to be an outstanding dam. Her mother is a granddaughter out of Kema 95K, as well as Wilgor Northeastern, Her sire, a Tailor Made son out of a donor cow at Harvie Ranching. This girl is from our most productive cow family, and she will be a great addition to any program.

Ms Vicki 20A was definitely the pasture favorite around here this summer. After several visitors and numerous compliments I decided 20A needed to “get to town.” This big volume, stout quartered Jazz daughter is a definite cow prospect. She’s also nice enough fronted to catch some attention in the show ring. Out of a beautiful uddered Cattlelac daughter and going back to Keynote and Blair Athol’s 882P donor cow on the top side guarantees productivity.

Not sure where to start on 44A. She combines as many positive attributes as any we have produced; calving ease with curve bending performance, maternal ability, and carcass excellence to name a few. Her dam, 91X, produced our high selling heifer calf selling to Wally and Fern Pugh of Lianmor Polled Herefords. Her dam was also one of the highest scanning individuals we have evaluated for IMF. Her granddam, 33K, has been a donor dam and a cornerstone female for us for the past decade. Her sire, Pinnacle 31Y, is just starting to write a story in our breeding program that will be an a interesting read in the future. Buy this female with confidence!

Chris talked us into selling this top end Tank 10W daughter. She’s got a real nice feminine head, sweet front shoulder, excellent depth of rib and great feet and legs. Her dam is an Odyssey out of the great 75G cow who left us some excellent females. She is bred to calve in early March to Walk Hard 154U. This will be the third year we have crossed Tank 10W and Walk Hard with super results. Be sure to check her out on sale day. Pasture exposed to Harvie OVHF Walk Hard 154U from May 20 to August 12, 2013. Preg. checked safe to calve early March, 2014.
