Lucille Loves her Comfort Keeper

Although Lucille’s home is cozy and well insulated, December mornings can still feel a little chilly to its 86-year old resident. On days like this, Lucille likes to warm up with a hot bath but prefers to wait until Donna, her Comfort Keeper, arrives so she can safely get in and out of the tub without fear of falling...

Comfort Keepers has been making senior lives better in North Georgia since 2002. As a state licensed private home care provider, Comfort Keepers provides assistance—temporary or long-term—to adults of any age, including meal preparation and light housekeeping, assistance with mobility or bathing, medication reminders, errands and more.

“Most seniors prefer to stay in their home if possible. We can help them accomplish that safely if they reach an age when they need a little help,” said Client Care Coordinator Emily Humphrey. Emily works with clients to make sure schedules are appropriate and clients are happy with services.

Most clients have a weekly schedule of visits that is constant over time, while others have schedules that change. With advance notice, Comfort Keepers can schedule occasional visits if needed. Transportation is a popular service when seniors are not able to drive or are just uncomfortable doing so. All Comfort Keepers employees undergo thorough background checks, receive paid training and can be eligible for medical insurance and retirement benefits. “We are always looking for great, caring people to work as a Comfort Keeper,” said Emily. “This is very rewarding work with flexible schedules.” For seniors interested in Comfort Keepers services, the first step is usually a phone call to the office to discuss services, schedules and costs. Call today at 706-226-9955.

While Lucille is bathing, Donna warms her towel in the dryer for a few minutes so when Lucille steps out of the tub she can be wrapped in a warm bath towel. No wonder Lucille says, “I love my Comfort Keeper!”
