Flicko’s Video Services

My wife Kim and I started Flicko’s Video Services in Chattanooga/Fort Oglethorpe in November of 2004. Our primary business is transferring video (VHS, Camcorder, Betamax, Umatic, memory cards, HD, and cell phone), 8mm and 16mm film, audio, picture/slide conversions, duplications, and video editing. One of our goals was to own a business that would be a part of the community and help support it in some fashion. In order to do so, we got involved in the school districts by becoming business partners with Boynton Elementary and Heritage. We’ve helped the Catoosa County Sheriff’s department, Teen Maze, Untapped Potential, and many other organizations with video projects and sponsorships. We expanded outside of our storefront to include filming on location for events such as school plays, band concerts, graduations, corporate and sporting events, banquet videos, weddings, and much more. We wanted to supply these organizations with great-quality videos at an affordable cost.
We were originally named “Flicko’s Video Workshops.” The original concept of Flicko’s was to create a place where people could come and work on their own projects. They could do things like scan their own pictures and slides, do video editing, and create a final project just the way they wanted it. Around 2006, we changed the name to “Flicko’s Video Services.” We still offer customers the opportunity to rent out work stations at an hourly rate to work on their projects; however, we found that most people were not interested in doing so and would rather just drop off their projects and have us complete it.
Our mission is to provide our customers with the bestquality product, at a good price, done just the way they want it, and to turn their project around in the quickest time possible.

No other transfer service/business allows the customization that we do, and no one is quicker than us in delivering the final product. We always look to exceed our customers’ expectations and rely on word of mouth to carry our reputation forward into the community.
What separates us from our competition? We do it the way our customers want it: total customization. Other businesses do it the way they want to. You have to conform to them. We combine VHS/Camcorder tapes to a single DVD (up to two hours’ worth of video). All the competitors allow is a single tape to a single DVD. No exceptions. We turn all projects around in a week or less, and most of the time, it takes just a day or two. The competition takes four to six weeks or longer. Our prices are competitive, and most of the time, we beat their prices on similar services. We offer video filming services at an affordable rate and FREE filming for many school events. Other video transfer businesses do not allow customers to walk in and only accept mail-ins. At Flicko’s Video Service, you can mail it or come on in. We’ll even make you a cup of coffee.
The best part about my job is sharing with customers. When you come in, it’s like going down memory lane. When you look around, you’ll probably see an old camera or 8mm film projector that will remind you of the one that dad used to have. Every customer of ours has a story and a precious moment in time that they are looking to relive. By the time they leave, we feel like we’ve made another friend. We don’t take it lightly and know how important it is to get their project right and protect it until we see them again. It’s the most rewarding job I could ever have, and I certainly thank all the customers who have entrusted us with their most precious memories over the past 15 years.
