As we approach 15 years of providing children in need with life-changing access to clothing and basic necessities, we are thrilled to host our Annual Gala, “A Night to Open Doors”, on March 22, 2025.
We believe that regardless of children’s circumstances and the irreversible imprints their experiences leave on their young lives, every child deserves to feel like they matter, they belong, and they have the power to make the world a brighter place Every child deserves to feel like a star.
The thousands of children enduring poverty and other crises in our community struggle to see their worth as they lack proper access to basic necessities that help them feel their best With supporters like you, Catie’s Closet steps in to lift them up and fill their needs

Our Star Catie Bisson
“They just want to go to school and be like everybody else.”
These were the words Catie spoke to describe students in her school who were experiencing homelessness.
She shed a light on this issue to her family, sharing that many students she attended class with and even invited into her home lacked access to adequate clothing, outerwear for winter, proper footwear for long walks to and from school, and toiletries to clean themselves.
Her wisdom and wholehearted belief in the power of education sparked the idea of Catie’s Closet over 14 years ago. It started with one closet as a tribute to a beloved daughter, sister, and niece.
Today, Catie’s Closet stands as a critically needed resource for thousands of children in need and has a direct impact on the future generations to come

About Catie’s Closet
Catie’s Closet gives children in need life-changing access to clothing and basic necessities.
With our two signature programs, we build and maintain relationships with schools and social service agencies to serve students and children across classrooms and the community
IN-SCHOOL CLOSET PROGRAM
The In-School Closet Program allows us to serve students right where they are: in school. We transform unused spaces inside schools where 50% or more of the student population lives in poverty. Accompanied to their closet by a trusted school faculty member, children can choose an unlimited amount of items to empower them to learn and play confidently. They can visit their school’s closet as often as they need We currently operate 140+ closets

SOSURGENT H ELPINGCHILDRENIN RESPONSE IN TIMES OF TRANSITION
SOS URGENT RESPONSE PROGRAM
The SOS Urgent Response Program supports the urgent needs of children transitioning between stable living conditions, including those who are homeless, moving into foster care, newcomers to the United States, fire victims, and survivors of abusive situations. Once we receive a special order from our agency partners, we work to create a customized package with up to two weeks’ worth of clothing and other essentials. Children typically receive their SOS orders within 24-48 hours to provide rapid relief.
