Road Map To The Survival Of The Catholic Family Mother Miriam of the Lamb of God, O.S.B

The enemy continues his battle for the destruction of the family. I say that knowing, as I pray you do, that the “gates of Hell will not – ever – prevail against God’s Church.

Nor will evil ever triumph over our Blessed Mother’s Immaculate Heart.

“I have said this to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

Indeed, this is a time – perhaps the time – of tribulation of which the prophets have spoken. Whatever the time frame, it is absolutely clear that all of Hell is blanketing the world, both within and without the Church. It is time for us to put a survival plan into place – sooner than later.

Bishop Athanasius Schneider of Kazakhstan, one of the holiest, most courageous and most orthodox bishops of the Church today, grew up with his family under the terror of a communist regime. This is an excerpt from his amazing testimony, given in an interview with LifeSiteNews: “I would say that I had the privilege to live in a time of persecution of the faith and of the Church, because such persecution gives you a foundation for all your life. I would not characterise the time of persecution always negatively.

God uses these circumstances of persecution in several degrees for our [good], to purify our faith, to strengthen our faith. So, in this way, I would see the persecution [coming] from the modern society — as you [mentioned], against the family — also as a chance to be purified, to be strengthened.”

Bishop Schneider said that “being a Catholic ‘family’ in the truest sense of the word is the key to survival.”

In this most outstanding interview, Bishop Schneider gave Catholic parents the roadmap to surviving in what he called, a “heretical wasteland.”

1. See persecution as a grace from God for becoming purified and strengthened, not simply as something negative.

2. Become rooted yourself in the Catholic faith through study of the Catechism.

3. Protect your family’s integrity above all else.

4. Catechise your children as your first duty.

5. Pray with your children daily, such as litanies and the Rosary.

6. Turn your home into a domestic church.

7. In the absence of a priest and Sunday Mass, make Spiritual Communion.

8. Withdraw your family from a parish spreading error and attend a faithful parish, even if you have to travel far.

9. Withdraw your children from school if they are encountering immoral danger in sex-ed.

10. If you cannot withdraw your children, establish a coalition of parents to fight for that right.

11. Fight for parental rights using available democratic tools.

12. Be prepared for persecution in protecting your children (see first point).

You will see that Bishop Schneider’s “roadmap” for the family is not a “survival guide” only; it is a roadmap for all times – in peace or persecution, in prosperity or in want.

The Bishop has given us further help, not merely for the times in which we live, but, again, for all times. Summarised in his interview with LifeSiteNews are the following counsels: Parents need to rise up to the responsibility of creating an environment within the home where children can flourish spiritually; This is today the main task for families: To establish a culture of domestic churches; If children are being poisoned outside the home, such as in school, through hedonistic and nihilistic sexeducation programs, then parents have the “obligation” to withdraw their children; “You cannot expose your children to an immoral danger.

It is impossible. Catholic parents, in defending their children from this immorality, have to be even ready to suffer, yes, to suffer consequences . . . If a country’s laws make it impossible for withdrawal, he added, then parents should band together and fight for the right using whatever democratic means are available.

If children are being poisoned from the pulpit, the same logic applies and parents must find a faithful parish, he said, calling unfaithful priests and bishops “traitors of the faith.”

“When pastors or members of the hierarchy contradict the teaching of Christ, the teaching of the perpetual Magisterium of the Church, of the Catechism, you have to withdraw your children from these churches, and not to go to them, even if you have to travel [far to a faithful church].”

Dear ones, I sincerely believe that if we ignore or postpone the counsel of Godly men, whether a Tobias who wrote, it is estimated, in the early 2nd Century B.C., or a Bishop Schneider who writes now in the 21st Century A.D., we do so at our peril and the loss of our children. It is never too late to begin, to change our values, our lifestyles, our priorities, and, most importantly, our more sure road to Heaven.

God’s Miracles Are Love In Action Steve Greco We call them miracles — supernatural occurrences that enter our lives. The word comes from the Latin and means “to wonder.” According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, miracles are “wonders performed by supernatural power as signs of some special mission or gift and explicitly ascribed to God.” For God, miracles are love in action!

God’s Nature It is God’s nature to love, to love each and every one of us passionately, completely, and unconditionally. God wants us to know with faith that He is real. We see this in the Book of Hebrews:

Our Part Often God uses us to make miracles happen; we become His catalysts on earth, revealing His love in action. In fact, Jesus was clear, as John reports in his Gospel, that we will do greater works than those He performed.

“Amen, Amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do works even greater than these because I am going to the Father. And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” John 14:12-13

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for anyone who approaches God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

This is an incredible promise! We will do what Jesus did and more! Jesus laid hands on the sick and they recovered! Jesus drove out demons! Jesus performed countless works of love and mercy and kindness! We, too, in the Name of Jesus, can be God’s messengers of miracles.

It is our choice, our response, to believe in God and His unending, unlimited love. When we do believe, we must also believe in His miracles. The Bible is replete with signs and wonders. In the Old Testament, for example, Elijah receives comfort and instructions from God; Moses crosses the Red Sea on dry land; and Daniel is saved from the lion’s den.

Miracles strengthen us by helping us realise that God is with us—we are not alone. When we experience a miracle, even if we can’t prove it scientifically, we are filled with hope, passion, and the desire to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ: God loves us without limit; God is with us always; God is present to us in miracles.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus performs seven signs or wonders, including the raising of Lazarus and changing water into wine at the wedding feast in Cana. All four Gospels tell of Jesus feeding thousands with just a few fish and loaves of bread. Jesus walks on water, casts out demons, and heals, among other things.

Expect Miracles In traveling to many places throughout the world, I often speak on miracles and ask people if they have experienced one or more of God’s supernatural interventions in their lives. In almost every instance, people raise their hands and acknowledge that they have witnessed miracles in their lives. When asked to describe these interventions, they have no explanation of how a healing took place or how an event occurred except through God’s help. The more we have faith, the more God opens our eyes to see the truth of His love in our lives.

Miracles big and small occur each and every day, even in this chaotic, failing world: a father is cured of cancer; a child is born; the last parking spot opens up; a rainbow appears in the sky; an old friend calls just as you think of him; rain falls on parched dry earth; forgiveness blesses estranged friends and families; a blinding storm lifts suddenly to allow a flight home to visit a dying parent, etc.

We must open both our hearts and minds to recognise miracles. We need to “expect and experience miracles!”

Three Under-Appreciated Acclamations Of Eucharistic Piety Mons. Charles Pope Let’s consider three rather humble but important moments that are often lost in the minds and hearts of the faithful – the Mystery of Faith, the Amen, and the Agnus Dei. They rise in importance because they are moments that belong especially to the faithful rather than the clergy.

I. The Mystery of Faith (Memorial Acclamation) In the Ordinary Form of the Liturgy, an acclamation of the people has been added just after the consecration.

The priest bids them to acclaim the paschal mystery that has just been made present in the Eucharistic Sacrifice.

In effect, this addition to Mass is the “Pauline Comment.”

It is so named for the fact that after repeating the words of consecration, St. Paul adds a kind of comment: For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: that the Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26) Critics of the Memorial acclamation see it as a novelty and intrusion into the Roman Rite. They also see it as given merely to imitate the Eastern rites or to give the people something to do in a prayer otherwise uttered entirely by the priest to the Father. But, as noted, the intrusion is not a merely arbitrary insertion, it draws from Paul’s comment on the words of consecration.

However, the criticisms are not without any merit. This practice was largely unknown in the Western rite, and, if the response of the people is desired, it is complicated by the fact that three different versions are offered, each of which differ in ways from the “Pauline comment” as recorded in scripture.

All of this said, the response is there and the faithful are asked to make an acclamation by the celebrant. He says or sings “The mystery of faith.” At this point the rubrics indicate “And the people continue, acclaiming …” Note that it is not anticipated that the priest should join them. At other times the rubrics do dictate that the priest and people sing together. (For example, at the Sanctus the rubric states, “[The priest] joins his hands and concludes the Preface with the people, singing or saying aloud …”)

But in the case of the Mystery of Faith, the rubric simply says, “the people continue, acclaiming …”

There are three options: 1. We proclaim your death or Lord, and profess your resurrection, until you come again.

2. When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup we proclaim your death O Lord, until to come again.

3. Save us Saviour of the world, for by your Cross and Resurrection, you have set us free.

As noted, these acclamations echo the practice of the Eastern Churches, which contain several acclamations by the people during the Eucharistic Prayer (specifically the Anaphora). For example, in the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, the people sing “Amen” after the consecration of the bread and again after the consecration of the wine. The priest then sings, Thine own, of thine own, we offer unto thee, on behalf of all and for all. And the people respond, We praise thee, we bless thee, we give thanks unto thee and we pray unto thee, Lord our God. The people’s response, not the priest’s. The memorial acclamation is a moment for the people to acclaim the paschal mystery that has just been made present to them. Too often, unfortunately, they seem distracted or uninvolved. Clergy should not usurp the acclamation for themselves by singing or saying it too loudly.

Even if it is necessary to “get the people started,” the priest should then pull back and listen reverently to the response that really belongs to the congregation. This is

a moment for the people of God to express their praise and worship of the Lord, now present on the altar, in a reverent fashion. They also express by the acclamation that the passion, death and resurrection are made present to them. It belongs to us clergy to instruct the faithful on the meaning and importance of this moment in terms of Eucharistic piety and faith.

II. Amen The Amen at the end of the Eucharistic prayer is another moment for God’s people to acclaim their “yes,” solemnly and joyfully, to what has just taken place. In this case as well, the speaking or the singing of the “Amen” is assigned to the people, not the clergy. The rubrics state, “The people acclaim: Amen.”

The celebrant, in persona Christi Capitis, has been speaking to the Father on their behalf, recalling the great works of God and the Sacrifice of the Cross made present in the Eucharist. He has asked mercy for the Church: the clergy and all the people, living and deceased.

you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us … grant us peace.

The recitation or singing of the Agnus Dei begins just after the sign of peace, but many people do not take the hint to refocus and join in.

Instead they continue glad-handing as if it were merely background noise/music to the sign of peace.

It is not. It is part of a eucharistic piety meant to prepare us for Holy Communion. Consider that the words of the hymn are very tender.

We sing to Him who is the Lamb of God, present on the altar, to have mercy on us and grant us peace to approach the Eucharistic altar without servile fear.

The Agnus Dei is especially a song of the people, because the celebrant

is usually busy with other prayers.

He may join towards the end, but this is a moment for the people to prepare themselves for Holy Communion.

Here, then, are three acclamations of Eucharistic piety that help frame the liturgy and draw us to devotion.

My sense is that they are underappreciated by many of the faithful and that clergy often usurp the role given to the lay faithful here, sometimes even acting as a “song leader.”

Ideally, the faithful can discover their own role here and see that the acclamations are not mere formulae, but prayers of a people who believe and celebrate what is announced.

To Know and To Love Truth

At the conclusion, the celebrant and deacon hold aloft the Body and Blood of the Lord and sing or say, Through him and with him and in him, O God almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours, forever and ever. It is for the people, not the celebrant, to acclaim “Amen.” It is their “yes,” their acknowledgment of all that has been said and has taken place.

Thus, the “Amen” ought to be a vigorous one. There is no need for histrionics, but a good, firm “Amen” is surely called for as a sign of our Eucharistic faith and our grateful hearts. At times, though, it seems one can barely detect the joy and firm affirmation that is deserved.

Eucharistic piety demands more than a distracted, feeble “Amen.”

III. The Agnus Dei Just prior to the Agnus Dei, the optional (though seldom omitted) sign of peace is sung or said.

Unfortunately, there are often excesses in what ought to be a modest greeting to those immediately nearby. These excesses often lead to the eclipse of what is a beautiful and pious hymn of preparation for Holy Communion: Lamb of God

Modern Day Warriors Anne O’Hare A warrior looks a lot different than we might think, today. Warfare has taken on a new realm. Gone are the spears-of-old, metal breastplates and helmets. Instead, battle attire has softened and given way to stiletto heels, lip gloss and rosary beads or an old prayer book slipped safely inside a pocket of a handbag.

A reporter by trade, I ventured aimlessly from the dark side several years ago. I feel like I arrived late to the party — the Pro-Life movement — just as it was in full swing. It began when I reverted back to my Catholic faith.

God, and his Holy Mother had put a litany of good, solid characters before me, the kind that keep “fresh converts” from straying too far off the beaten path, mostly by their gentle easy ways.

All of them, seemed to share one fundamental characteristic — they are forthrightly and unapologetically against the intentional killing of innocent babies in the womb.

Of all people, I have BBC Radio Ulster, talk show host, Stephen Nolan to thank for pushing me so far one morning that he finally knocked me off the very comfortable fence that I had been sitting upon.

This happened as I listened to an appallingly uncomfortable interview he had set up between the head of Precious Life, Bernadette Smyth, and a middle-aged women’s’ rights activist from the Shankill Road, back in February 2015.

Nolan, had cleverly engineered the debate which centred on a perceived desire for a change in Northern Irish abortion law. He had allowed the Belfast caller to let rip at Bernie live-on-air, while turning her over to the wolves who waited on other phone lines to get into the show.

It didn’t sit easy with me. There was a fierceness surrounding that interview that we rarely observe in today’s politically correct world. In that moment, I decided enough was enough and finally put my shoulder to the Pro-Life wheel.

That very morning, I turned up outside the Marie Stopes abortion clinic to join their ongoing weekly protest – which, only by the grace of God, I was able to keep attending most weeks, until the clinic was

forced to close its doors two and a half years later.

They were a rare breed those men and women who stood outside the facility each week in heavy rain or biting chill to pray “No, not in my name!” These people understood the spiritual battle they were in the midst of – something that I was utterly ignorant of. They also shared an innate sense that by being there, Satan could never claim legal ownership of this battle that is raging between God and himself.

Although, it had completely eluded me, this final confrontation was foretold by Sr. Lucia dos Santos, one of the three child-visionaries of Fatima, when she wrote a letter to Italian Cardinal Carlo Caffarra in 1983/84.

In it she warned: “The final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about Marriage and the Family. “Don’t be afraid,” she urged the cardinal, “because whoever works for the sanctity of Marriage and the Family will

always be fought against and opposed in every way, because this is the decisive issue”.

lightly chuckle and relate that the young man was shaking the sign of the Devil’s Horns over us.

It grew more apparent as the weeks went by, the Pro-Life presence at Marie Stopes seemed to trigger quite a reaction from the general public – and not much in the way of easygoing, middle-the-road, opinions neither.

“Oh,” I said, sounding more certain that my new direction was going to be a worthwhile one. I was sure the biggest breaking story of modern history was unfurling before my eyes.

I once observed a young man who made no secret of his intent as he shook his right hand over us as he walked by the protest, his little finger and thumb outstretched while his other middle fingers still in a fist.

Fast forward seven years, five colourful All Ireland Pro-Life rallies and a year or two of volunteering with Precious Life writing-up articles, I have now found that I’m being drawn to work right at the coal face of the issue – counselling women facing crisis pregnancies with Stanton Healthcare Belfast.

Many, many women are victims of this cultural quagmire. They are coming from terrible places of fear, pain, and suffer much injustice.

They are more to be consoled than condemned – our young generation has it hard, of this there is no doubt.

On the other hand, there are women who have it good in life. Many of whom have three or four children of their own and are blessed with good

husbands and steady incomes, but remain unwilling to continue with their pregnancy. I have realised, the younger a sibling is, the less likely the new baby is to see the light of day.

Often too, are the cases which I would describe as easy.

These are the women who are petrified of becoming a mother, but have connected with their little surprise bump, they just haven’t taken time to realise it. They act out of shock, but are easily persuaded to choose life when they find support in a Stanton counsellor. These are the cases that abortion centres would rather we didn’t know about. The ones that suffer most from post abortive syndrome – a syndrome that inevitably leads many women to addiction and suicide and is quietly covered up in any meaningful media debate.

evil – to choose life, without interfering upon her free will – a skill which takes time to develop and patience to perfect.

The scene can often resemble a tense court room drama.

The counsellor takes on the role of a good defence lawyer but without the black gown and curly white wig. She skillfully tries to persuade a one-woman-jury of the merits in choosing life for her unborn – eager to prevent a miscarriage of justice, ensuring this little voiceless defendant is granted a stay of execution.

There are women, faced with such a crossroads, who find themselves in utter despair, want to be free of the consequences of the ordeal and decide to go ahead with the inconceivable alternative. It is this outcome that carries the most sorrow. As followers of Christ, all of us must choose which hill we are to be martyred upon – but this particular cross is not for the faint-hearted.

We can’t promise these women that by choosing life it will be an easy journey for them, but we can promise her it will most definitely be worth it.

I’m blessed to be learning from great Pro-Life veterans, who act as little gatekeepers, standing guard on top of a cliff edge to prevent women from stepping off the precipice.

Despite, all these efforts, the work of a Stanton counsellor would be but in vain if it wasn’t for trust in all mighty God, and the wide and varied group of Christians who raise up this intention each day, and offer prayers up to end the silent holocaust of the unborn, the ones who implore God to bestow sufficient grace to allow these poor women to turn from that proverbial cliff edge, and back on safe ground.

To me, it is without doubt, this group who are the true unsung modern day warriors.

Catholic Bishop Condemns Abortion: It’s a Pagan Sacrifice of Innocent Children Micaiah Bilger

The pagan sacrifice of innocent children to false gods is still happening in society, though it goes by another name, Catholic Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone told pro-lifers on January 22nd, during a special pro-life Mass.

Speaking of modern times, the archbishop said he was not surprised to learn that one of the first groups to challenge the Texas heartbeat law was the Satanic Temple, a cult that believes abortion is a “religious ritual.”

Archbishop Cordileone, archbishop of San Francisco, warned about the spread of paganism in society and its belief that killing unborn babies in abortions is a “blessed sacrament,” according to his homily.

These pagan, satanic groups have made the killing of unborn babies part of their religion, which explains their irrational, vehement opposition to any limits on abortion, he continued.

He gave the message ahead of the Walk for Life in San Francisco, an annual event held to mark the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Since the ruling in 1973, more than 63.5 million unborn babies have been killed in abortions.

“That is why we see such visceral and violent reaction to any even minimal regulation of abortion in the law, regulations that even those who believe it should be kept legal would see as reasonable, such as informed consent and parental consent,” Cordileone said.

“This is all around us nowadays, and this kind of secularism has all the marks of a religion: infallible dogmas, rituals, saints, creedal statements and condemnation of heretical teachings along with punishment of the heretics who hold them and dare to speak them in public, index of forbidden books, even sacraments,” Archbishop Cordileone said.

“Indeed, abortion has become, for them, their blessed sacrament, what they hold most sacred, the doctrine and practice upon which their whole belief system is built,” the archbishop continued.

He said there is only one true Blessed Sacrament, and “to live as if there were two brings desecration of what is sacred on both fronts: the Bread of Life on the altar and human life in the womb.”

Killing unborn children is demonic, he continued, pointing to passages in scripture in which the pagans and, at times, the Israelites sacrificed their children to false gods, or demons.

He quoted Psalm 106, which reads, “They sacrificed to demons their own sons and daughters, shedding innocent blood, the blood of their own sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols [demons] of Canaan.”

The archbishop also warned that these evil, pagan beliefs also have seeped into the church.

“How many people are there who claim to be Christian and yet have been mindlessly co-opted by the new secular religion and its false blessed sacrament?” the archbishop said.

Though he did not mention politics in his homily, Cordileone has been a strong voice against the hypocrisy of politicians like President Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who profess to be devout Catholics while working to expand abortions. Last year, he published a pastoral letter making the case for denying communion to proabortion Catholic public figures, saying the action may be “the only recourse a pastor has left” if they obstinately persist in their sin and refuse to repent.

In his pro-life homily, the archbishop encouraged pro-lifers to live virtuous lives that “see the other as a fellow human being with God-given dignity and not a means to an end” and put others ahead of themselves.

Behold I Am With You All Days Even To The Consummation Of The World. (Matthew 28:20) John Lacken Let us begin, as has now become customary, with a prayer for our bishops. They carry great responsibility in what has become a hostile time for the Catholic faith.

Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.

I told my wife that I was going to write an inspirational and motivational article for this issue.

She laughed as if to say this is unusual for me. Thank God, despite all of the struggles over the years, we are able to laugh with one another.

I have been contacted by a few people over the last few weeks and I have noticed at times a certain weariness developing amongst people of faith. Some are wondering for how long more ‘this’ must go on.

Are we in the end times? What do you think of the great chastisement?

“I don’t trust the government, I think they are lifting the restrictions in order to move to the next phase of their plans to oppress us.”

I am known to have a critical nature and I find it hard to keep quiet when I see all the shenanigans going on in the world and in the Church.

I challenge the things that are not right and I am forthright in putting my views forward.

I am also fortunate to have been blessed with a very cheerful and optimistic disposition. Whilst I write a lot about what is wrong and I try to point out how to correct these things, the struggles of years have taught me not to worry.

As I age, I have come more and more to take the Gospel we had for our wedding literally.

the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Therefore I say to you, be not solicitous for your life, what you shall eat, nor for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more than the meat: and the body more than the raiment?

Behold the birds of the air, for they neither sow, nor do they reap, nor gather into barns: and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not you of much more value than they?

And which of you by taking thought, can add to his stature by one cubit?

And for raiment why are you solicitous? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they labour not, neither do they spin.

But I say to you, that not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these.

And if the grass of the field, which is to day, and to morrow is cast into the oven, God doth so clothe: how much more you, O ye of little faith?

Be not solicitous therefore, saying, What shall we eat: or what shall we drink, or wherewith shall we be clothed?

For after all these things do the heathens seek. For your Father knoweth that you have need of all these things.

(Matthew 6:24-34) God has promised us that if we ‘seek first His Kingdom’, He will provide for all of our needs. Prior to this He tells us not to worry about material things because this is what the pagans worry about. He tells us not to worry about the future but to concentrate on the duties of the day.

Christ also tells us to “Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leads

to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leads to life: and few there are that find it!” (Matthew 7:13-14) Again Christ tells us, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

For he that will save his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for my sake, shall find it.

For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels: and then will he render to every man according to his works.”

(Matthew 16:24-27) A Catholic should never be surprised by troubles and struggles in his life.

In a way, we should almost expect persecution and struggles to be the norm and we should be determined to stay loyal to our Catholic faith no matter what life or the world throws at us.

Those of us who live in the western world have become accustomed to luxuries that were undreamed of by previous generations. Recently, I found myself out on a motorway, travelling at one hundred and twenty kilometres per hour, and the thought struck me, that just a few generations ago, this experience was unknown.

We take these things for granted.

We can have light at the flick of a switch. We can heat our houses at the flick of a switch. We turn on the tap and we have fresh drinking water.

Most of us have high speed internet connections and can communicate with people all over the world by My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love Thee. I beg pardon of Thee for all those that do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love Thee. Amen.

An Old Domestic Water Well video link. We can buy all sorts of exotic fruits and vegetables at the local supermarket and we wax lyrical about the different types of coffee we can have; an espresso; a latte; a cappuccino.

When I lived in Leitrim, our elderly neighbour, who lived to be eighty eight years old, never got running water installed in her house. Every morning she would cross a couple of fields with two buckets and fill them from the well on the property for use during the day. The well consisted of a hole dug in the field with a few stones to line the edges, a stone step, with a fence and a small wooden gate.

When we lived in Leitrim from 1996 to 2004, we had no drinking water in our house. We had running water from an open reservoir up the hill, but it was not fit for drinking or for cooking. We used to drive down to the local spring and fill up a 5 gallon drum with drinking water.

On a few occasions when we ran short, our elderly neighbour carried two buckets of fresh water to us from her well.

When we went to visit our neighbour, we made sure that the children had gone to the toilet because she did not have a flush toilet in the house.

She had a camping toilet in a shed out the back. Her father died when she was ten years old and she helped her mother to raise her younger brother and sister. They had a small

rural farm and they lived a hard but simple life with few luxuries.

She had great faith and prayed the Rosary. She also died on the feast of the Holy Rosary.

In those days our family grew to ten in number and we would have been classed as poor on Ireland’s poverty index, although I never really felt poor. We always had a roof over our heads, food on the table, clothes to wear, and warm beds to sleep in.

Money was in short supply, but you simply got on with what you had and tried your best to improve things and you placed your trust in God and prayed to Him for assistance.

I don’t tell this for people to say how great I am, I am not a great man by any means and I know plenty of others who have greater struggles than I have had. I simply share it to illustrate that life is going to be tough at times but with God’s help we can progress on our journey to holiness and to heaven. Sometimes the Lord sends us difficulties in order to humble us and to bring us to rely on His help more and more in our daily lives. Sometimes He sends them to awaken us to the sins in our own lives so that we will be brought to repentance.

What I notice with all of the luxuries that we have become accustomed to in western society including Ireland, is that, by and large, we have become soft. We do not like to be discomfited. We want everything

to be available quickly and we get fed up very easily if we are missing something.

During the recent Covid-19 escapade, laws were passed which tried to deprive us of many of our superfluous freedoms. Limits were put on how far we could travel from our homes and on how many people we could invite into our homes. Pubs, restaurants and nightclubs were closed. Services deemed as non-essential were closed. I did not obey these unjust laws.

The most egregious of the restrictions were those placed on our right to worship Almighty God. Sadly, our bishops caved in to the unjust laws and denied the faithful access to Jesus Christ truly present, Body, Blood Soul and Divinity, in the most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. We were denied confession too. To this day the powerful sacramental, Holy Water, is missing from most of our Catholic Churches and people, busy sanitising their hands, rarely bless themselves anymore as they enter the Catholic Churches. They have lost the habit.

In times of comfort and relative ease, we tend to forget that, whether we like it or not, we are involved in a war. We have become used to living like over-weight peacetime generals who lose their military sharpness through lack of engagement with the enemy.

In the realm of spiritual warfare, the enemy never goes away and never sleeps. He likes it when he can lull us into a false sense of confidence, especially confidence in our own abilities. If we are not fighting against the world, the flesh and the devil, then they will make inroads into our spiritual lives. If we are not protecting our children and training them for the spiritual combat that awaits all Catholics, then some of them could be lost - forever.

The old testament tells the story of many wars. In the book of Judges we read the story of Gideon who gathered an army of thirty two thousand men to fight the Madianites. God tells him that he has too many men and when Gideon tells those who are fearful to ‘go home’, he is left with only ten thousand men. God then sets a test which involved drinking water from a river, and Gideon is then left with just 300 men to fight against the mighty army of Madian. God does this in order to show that the power of defeat comes from His Hand and not the hands of men. “The people that are with thee are many, and Madian shall not be delivered into their hands: lest Israel should glory against me, and say: I was delivered by my own strength.” (Judges 7:2) In the book of Judges the chosen people rebel against God and then return to Him, only to rebel again. happens time and time again and each time they rebel God chastises them, and when they repent He sends someone to help them. This is the story of mankind, constantly turning away from God once things are going well and only crying out when things go badly.

Look at Ireland! We began gaining economic prosperity after the sixties and at the height of our so called progress, we enacted laws legitimising sodomy and abortion, both of which are highly offensive to God. There is no sign that this is about to change.

Someone asked me what I thought about the forthcoming three year review of the abortion act. “Will it be a fair review or a whitewash?”

There can be no ‘fair’ review of the abortion act because the act itself is gravely immoral and corrupt and is not a proper law on account of this. You cannot have a ‘review’ of an unjust law. Had the government enacted a law which permitted the killing of innocent children who happened to come from Wexford, the only option for any sane person would be to reject the law out of hand. The so called three year review of the abortion act will mainly report on how the legislation has been operated and if there were any anomalies in how the children who were killed were selected. “Were best practices used in choosing the innocents to be murdered?” - is the question that is being asked.

Similarly, I believe those who proposed and supported the ‘Foetal Pain Relief Bill 2021’ were seriously misguided in their thinking. Euthanasia is defined as ending someone’s life in a pain free way. This is what was proposed by the ‘Foetal Pain Relief Bill 2021’ - the unborn children were to be Euthanised, by providing pain relief before their murders. It was hoped that this might prick the consciences of those who have voted for the murders in the first place. I find such thinking to be naive and it also contradicts Catholic Church teaching on this matter.

In his encyclical letter ‘Evangelium Vitae’, Pope St John Paul II said the following.

“In the case of an intrinsically unjust law, such as a law permitting abortion or euthanasia, it is therefore never licit to obey it, or to “take part in a propaganda campaign in favour of such a law, or vote for it”. (EV 73) Despite this, many Irish Catholics campaigned for acceptance of this repugnant pain relief before murder bill.

Evangelium Vitae also mentions the following difficult situation.

“A particular problem of conscience can arise in cases where a legislative vote would be decisive for the passage of a more restrictive law, aimed at limiting the number of authorized abortions, in place of a more permissive law already passed or ready to be voted on.” (EV 73) However, the proponents of this bill stated - “The passage of the ‘Foetal Pain Relief Bill 2021’ would not

restrict the functioning of the new abortion law in any way. It would simply ensure that no unborn baby is exposed to unnecessary pain and suffering during the abortion procedure.”

Christ tells us that He will be with us until the end of time. He tells us that we will be judged on our good works. He tells us not to worry about the material things in life or about the future.

Is this going to be difficult? Of course it is, but you must do it anyway, and if you seek first the Kingdom of God, then you have a promise that everything you need will be ‘added unto you’

This was not a bill designed to reduce the number of abortions therefore no Catholic could support it or campaign for it.

Our Lady tells us that Russia will be consecrated to her and will convert, in her own good time, and that in the end Her Immaculate Heart will Triumph.

Let us not concentrate on thinking about how difficult the task ahead is or how dark the times are. Like a fisherman who checks the weather forecast before setting out in his boat, let us be aware of what is going on around us so that we can take the necessary actions and precautions. A good captain of a fishing boat, will not endanger the lives of his men if the storms are too dangerous, but neither will he sit at home doing nothing. During the times when he cannot put out to sea he will take care to make sure his nets and his boat and his crew are ready for the next fishing trip.

As Catholics we need to stop trying to compromise with the world in order to be accepted. We need to be unashamedly Catholic and take the negative consequences that may come from that. The only Catholic response to abortion and abortion legislation is total and absolute rejection. The only Catholic response to same-sex sexual relationships is total and absolute rejection.

Like Christ when He spoke to the woman caught in adultery, we must not condemn the sinners, but if we do not tell them to, ‘go and sin no more’, then we are not true followers of Christ.

We need to accept these things and we need to actively engage in the fight against evil without losing hope because the victory is guaranteed. What a shame if we are not on the winning side because we allowed the troubles of this world to choke us.

How we fight against the evils of this world depends very much on our state in life. One vital element of the battle that Catholic parents are called to, is to protect and promote Catholic marriage and family life and to hand on the faith to your children in a hostile world.

We must be aware of the darkness and the difficulties in order to take action to protect ourselves and those we love from succumbing to evils or from giving up on God.

How enraged you would be at the authorities for allowing this travesty! How frustrated you may feel with yourself for living so close to a potential risk.

Many of the gravest dangers to your child are not immediate, for broken bones can heal. But deeply embedded ailments, such as cancer, often are irrevocable. And often the most dangerous diseases are largely undetectable. Think of the frog that slowly boils in the water as the temperature is turned up: the warm water must have originally felt soothing. But the little thing cooks to death. In fact, the most dangerous of foes are the ones that sneak in through that which we perceive as good for us, just like Odysseus and his Greeks snuck into the city of Troy in the belly of the Trojan horse.

The devil knows your child. The devil knows exactly how to slowly turn up the temperature on your child. The devil knows how to sneak in through that which seems “enlightened.” And the devil knows that the greatest weapons against his devilish tactics are found within tradition. In short, the devil is a modernist and works tirelessly to bring your child within his ranks.

modernism Modernism is, in fact, a declared heresy. Pope St. Pius X declared it such on September 8, 1907 in his encyclical called ‘Pascendi Dominici Gregis’, “On the Doctrines of the Modernists.” As a parent, it is vital that you understand the enemy assaulting your son or daughter.

Modernism is such a deceptive tool of the devil that it is difficult to define. Pope Pius X called it “the synthesis of all heresies” precisely because it is not just one erroneous idea but a conglomerate of erroneous ideas orchestrated to bring doubt to the authority of God and His Church. It is, in a nutshell, the desire to reform the Church.

The reformers, these “enemies of the Cross,” the pope explains, are “walking the footsteps of Luther” but hiding within the ranks of the Church.

Modernism is precisely what your children will be taught by the secular media, in virtually every school, in every state university.

Such academic institutions are nothing better than layers of Satan.

Their purpose is to impose the doctrines of the modernist religion.

First, modernism teaches (not unlike the French revolutionists that murdered priests and nuns in the streets of Paris) the spirit of emancipation: emancipation first and foremost from the oppressive Church of Rome. This includes freedom from authority of the Church (and your parental authority is next on the chopping block), freedom from articles of faith that cannot be proven by science, freedom of the conscience from the beliefs of dead white men.

Your child, they declare, must be freed from the bondage you put them in by raising them Catholic.

Can’t you see, Dear Parent, that the modernists hate you! They hate what you have done to your child!

It is their job, their patriotic duty, to fix the damage you have done!

Next, the modernists proclaim the spirit of change, for all things in life are progressing towards greater enlightenment. This is why they prefer to call themselves “progressives” rather than leftists.

ensure your child is moving away from the faith of their childhood and towards true enlightenment.

The spirit of change results in Darwinian evolution, which to them means your child is nothing more than an evolved amoeba.

In fact, the entire universe began not as an act of God but as an unexplainable galactic combustion of gasses.

And thirteen billion years later, your little one is a mere cosmological accident.

Mathematically it is more likely, however, that a print job explodes and the ink lands on paper in such a manner that it results in the sonnets of Shakespeare.

But the pride of these modernists would rather believe this nonsense than submit to an Almighty God who controls the universe in which they are progressing; yes, man becomes its own god rather

than surrendering to the Godman. In fact, the spirit of change allows a young man or woman to change their sexual identity. Make no mistake, Dear Parent, the spirit of change will alter your child if you do not go to extreme lengths to counteract it.

A further doctrine of the modernist regime, the spirit of equality, is yet another assault on the authority of Holy Mother Church, and the very life of Jesus Christ. The modernists want to infect your child with the idea that all faiths are of equal value, that all ideology must be reconciled into one brotherhood.

The sole purpose of this notion is to dismantle the one, true, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.

Truly, they desire to depose the pope so that every man and woman can be their own pope. They want your child to believe that Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and

Christianity are merely different expressions of the human heart’s longing for peace and love.

They want your heterosexual marriage to be seen as the same as their homosexual marriage.

In the political realm, they are now actively working to create a one world order without national boundaries, with no concern for the moral doctrine of subsidiarity.

In the economic realm, they want your money to go into one vast national treasury so that the more enlightened bureaucrats will spend it more prudently — one big bank of brotherhood. Wait and see: a global currency will come next.

The modernists’ spirit of equality will drain your child of all individuality and force him into a nameless society, neutered of sexual identity, void of political and economic freedom, empty of any religious fervor.

The Strategic Threat From Western And Church Feeble-Mindedness Christopher Monckton of Brenchley

As Communist-led Russia masses men and materiel on the northern, eastern and southern marches of the Ukraine and the Kremlin’s foreign minister mutters about Europe’s “Russophobia”, the traditional pretext for imminent military adventurism, the Western response has been so feeble as to constitute an open invitation to invade.

Mr Biden, well out of his depth in foreign affairs, has foolishly invited Russia to undertake only a small invasion, making it clear that the enfeebled United States will do little or nothing to stop a Russian incursion – into the Russophone Donbas and Lugansk regions of eastern Ukraine, perhaps.

Britain has sent some token missile-launchers, but Germany has altogether refused to provide military assistance. As for the European Union, notwithstanding its grand ambitions for a joint strategic approach to the Continent’s defence, it has remained sullenly, tellingly, persistently, culpably silent.

Russia helped herself to the Crimea in 2014-15 under the Obama administration, while China assisted the Taliban to occupy Afghanistan under the Biden administration, having invaded and occupied Tibet in 1949-50 under the Truman administration.

Such major foreign incursions by totalitarian powers occur during “Democrat” tenures of the White House because the “Democrats” – far too close to Communism for comfort – can be absolutely depended upon not to respond effectively, if at all.

Russian Ceremonial Guard

Both Britain and the United States have waved the usual limp white flag of abject surrender in the direction of Russia by talking of imposing economic sanctions.

Sanctions are the policy of the pre-emptive cringe. They rarely constitute any deterrent. Against Russia, they are worse than useless.

For Europe, having shut down nearly all its coal-fired and many of its nuclear-fired power stations, has made itself strategically dependent upon Russia to provide gas to keep the lights on via the growing network of pipelines from Siberia.

The West, then, has no power to inflict effective economic sanctions on Russia, and Mr Putin knows it. For Moscow has the power to switch Europe off. The Kremlin took some care to rehearse this scenario before moving its troops to the Ukrainian border.

During a spell of windless weather late last year, a temporary restriction

of the gas supply to Europe was arranged for “operational reasons”.

As a direct result, the price of Russian gas rose briefly from six times the world price to 200 times the world price. Russia knows that Europe knows that Russia can do that again at any time.

The extent of Europe’s utter dependence upon Russian gas is far greater than is generally realised. The sole reason for this strategically fatal dependence is Europe’s feeble-minded obsession with net-zero emissions.

For there are only three ways to back up the windmills and solar panels on which Europe now depends for just enough of its power supply to destabilise the grid: hydroelectric pumped storage (which provides a fix only for a few minutes at a time, and only where it is available); single-cycle gas turbines (combined-cycle turbines are not flexible enough); and coalfired power stations (nearly all of

which have been shuttered in the name of Saving The Planet).

Governments have repeatedly ignored warnings by grid authorities that inflicting more than approximately 10% of grid capacity on the system in the shape of windmills and solar farms makes grid balancing near-impossible and disproportionately expensive.

Ministers have also ignored warnings that adding unreliables to the grid, far from reducing unit emissions per MWh generated, actually increases them. Switching from coal-fired to gas-fired generation reduces emissions, albeit at the crippling cost of doubling the unit price of electricity. For coal has twice the unit emissions of gas, but half the unit electricity price.

But adding windmills and solar farms to the grid requires that at all times there must be enough coal-fired or single-cycle gasfired stations constantly running at hugely wasteful spinning reserve to provide backup to full peakdemand capacity at every moment.

For the wind can drop at any time, and the Sun has a habit of going down every evening.

It is not as though emissions are that much of a problem in the first place.

By a strikingly elementary error first perpetrated in a much-imitated paper by a many-times-arrested climate-change activist at NASA in 1984, climatologists, at a vital point in their calculations, forgot the Sun was shining. They falsely assumed that all the feedback response – an additional warming that amplifies direct temperature – came solely from greenhouse gases in the air.

In fact, 97% of that additional warming is attributable not to greenhouse gases but to the surely observable fact that the Sun is shining.

Therefore, there is no good reason to imagine that there will be large and dangerous warming rather than the small and net-beneficial warming that has been observed to date – at little more than a third of the midrange rate originally predicted by climatologists on the basis of their crass error of physics.

FEEBLE-MINDEDNESS 19 The UK’s “independent” climatechange committee was told of this error some years ago, but did not even reply. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was told as well. It did not reply either.

Ukraine is the direct victim of this Western feeble-mindedness, which has left Europe dangerously reliant upon Russia for nearly all its energy and thus incapable of defending itself, or anyone else, against Russian aggression.

And the Church?

The Communist “long march through the Western institutions”, of which Antonio Gramsci wrote, has captured nearly every See in the West. The Church, therefore, has contributed nothing – and, under its present leadership, is not at all likely to contribute anything useful – to a solution in the Ukraine.

Where are the Cardinals like Faulhaber and Mindszenty and Wojtyla, who spoke out trenchantly and courageously against Fascism and Communism? All, all are dead.

Every windmill or solar array added to the grid adds to its CO2 emissions as a direct result of the requirement for spinning reserve. Large-scale battery storage is not an option: it is far too costly. Every time you buy an electric buggy to replace your real car, you are adding far more to global CO2 emissions than if you kept your internal-combustion motor. The weight of the batteries adds up to 30% to that of the car and hence to the unit cost of fuel per mile travelled.

Collaboration Of The Non-Ordained In The Sacred Ministry Mary Kearns “The sacred host is not some thing but some One” - St. John Vianney Restrictions on Church attendance are being lifted and it is possible that there will soon be a complete return to normality in the celebration of the sacred liturgy. We have endured even greater malpractices than before Lockdown and how likely is it that these will now come to an end?

John Lacken’s recent informative article quotes the Vatican document where it states that no-one, not even a priest may add, change or remove anything in the liturgy on his own authority. Why is this case we ask? Perhaps we can attempt some answers and talk about rules and regulations and even disobedience to the Magisterium but sadly these words so often fall on deaf ears.

Why is so hard to understand the every liturgical action is an action of Christ himself? The Catechism tells us that “through the liturgy Christ, our redeemer and high priest continues the work of our redemption in, with and through his Church.” (CCC 1069) It is tempting to conclude that these truths are not understood because they have never been taught.

Looking at some recent examples where lay-people have, to an unprecedented extent taken control of the liturgy, the only charitable way to see this is to say that they do not know what they are doing.

For the moment let us take just one example among many. The case in point concerns giving the Rite of Peace during the Mass. This is a priestly action and because it takes place here, the priest is acting in the Person of Jesus Christ. If a person other than a priest takes over this role, he or she deprives everyone

present of the peace of Christ. How is that?

Clearly we have to remember that when we are at Mass we are participating in an event that has absolutely no parallel anywhere else in life. Of course, outside of Mass we can wish others the peace of Christ, just as we say “God bless you.” These are pious invocations and there is nothing wrong with this.

During the sacred liturgy however, as we have noted, every priestly action is an action of Jesus Christ.

Therefore, this is not simply the sign of peace; it is the Rite of Peace. If there is a deacon present, his action gives clear significance as he is in Holy Orders. Nonetheless, it is the priest who gives the greeting and when the people have responded, the deacon turns to them and with his hands joined, says: “Let us offer each other the sign of peace.” Then he himself receives the sign of peace from the priest and may offer it to those others who are closer to him.

Catholic liturgy is different from that of other ecclesial communities because it is alive. We are not involved in a commemoration ceremony; we are participating in real-live drama that has never stopped being alive since the time the first Eucharist was instituted

by Jesus Christ. When the priest communicates the peace of Christ to the congregation, it is the same peace that Jesus gave to the apostles after his resurrection from the dead.

There exists a great amount of bewilderment about what is licit and what is illicit, nevertheless there is no need for speculation if the right procedure is sought.

Take for example the fact that we have become so accustomed to the sight of lay men and women taking up positions in the sanctuary during Mass that it looks as if it is the norm. But this is not the norm and over the past twenty or so years both Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict have issued strong statements regarding practices that were causing dishonour to the Most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist.

Since the authorisation for lay

11th February 2022 people to act on occasion as extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion was given, many pressing requests were received by the various Dicasteries of the Curia in Rome. Bishops, priests and lay people were concerned and wanted to be assured of the correct guidelines. The General Instruction of the Roman Missal addresses this briefly. This states that extraordinary ministers when they were required should not approach the altar until after the celebrant’s Communion and must always receive the sacred vessels from the hands of the priest.

That should be enough. However it is an instruction that is frequently disregarded.

Responding to requests from across the world, the document “On Certain Questions Regarding the Collaboration of the Non-Ordained Faithful in the Sacred Ministry of the Priest” was issued in 1997.

This document provides unequivocal direction. It is unprecedented in that it was signed by no fewer than eight Dicasteries.

The introduction declared that many queries had been received by the various Dicasteries from bishops, priests and lay people, queries that arose from certain socalled pastoral ministry in dioceses and parishes. Some theological confusion had resulted from the application of ministerial terms to lay people - terms which are reserved for those in Holy Orders.

The purpose of this document (Ecclesiae de Mysterio) was to correct some abuses due to the unlawful assumption of titles such as “pastor,” “chaplain,” “co-ordinator, “moderator.”

Additionally, malpractices due to non-ordained people administering Holy Communion in unauthorised circumstances were addressed in some detail.

Canon Law distinguishes between an ordinary minister of Holy

Catholic Voice Communion and an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion.

Ordinarily, the Church entrusts bishops, priests, and deacons with the ministry of taking the sacrament to the sick. Thus the clergy are the ordinary ministers of Holy Communion and not the nonordained. In places where the priest is genuinely unable or if the parish covers a wide geographical area, a lay person may bring the sacrament to the sick.

Referring to the Code of Canon Law, we find that a layman may become an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion by law if he has received the stable ministry of acolyte. He is distinct from the deacon who following his ordination to the diaconate, becomes an ordinary minister of Holy Communion. Any other person may only administer the sacrament in the absence of a deacon or acolyte.

There are times when the direct collaboration of lay people is authorised and this is one means by which the non-ordained faithful can participate in the sacred ministry.

The 1997 document clearly sets out the conditions and states that in times of necessity, the bishop can

THE ROLE OF THE LAITY 21 entrust lay men and women with roles connected to pastoral ministry, such as reader or extraordinary minister which do not require the character of Orders.

As John Lacken’s article points out, successive post-conciliar legislation particularly Redemptiones Sacramentum and the revised Code of Canon Law deal with this subject.

The collaboration of the laity is not just a matter of assisting the clergy, but it is a means of enriching the vocation by which every Christian through his baptism is called to take up his part in the Mystical Body that is the Church. However it is just one of the means.

Those who are commissioned to administer Holy Communion in extraordinary circumstances should receive instruction in Eucharistic doctrine. They should be clear about the meaning of the role they are to carry out, the rubrics to be observed, the manner of administrating the most august Sacrament, and the instruction concerning the discipline of admission to Holy Communion.

Charity And Vaccines - Part 2 Fr Ambrose Astor

Having established that both conscience and prudence forbid the reception of COVID-19 vaccines, Father Ambrose now explains, especially for priests, why getting vaccinated is not the “loving thing to do”. (Fr Ambrose writes under a pseudonym to protect his Catholic ministry) Q. Right, so taking the vaccine goes against conscience, prudence and charity. But many people are taking it in order to continue working to support others. Don’t you think they are showing a lofty degree of love?

A. It is imperative in this situation, for priests and doctors in particular, to be aware of the objective truth versus subjective feelings. Subjectively many may feel they are showing love by accepting the vaccine in order to do noble things such as continuing to work and support others.

Objectively speaking, such an action does not meet the requirements of the virtue of charity. It would be false charity, for true charity requires that we always obey God’s sovereign law (in this case the 5th commandment) and be guided by prudence as demonstrated in Article 2. If you love me, you will keep my commandments, says Our Lord (John 14:15).

When we mention God’s commandments, some might be inclined to recriminate against God, as if His demands were arbitrary. In reality, the commandments are not arbitrary. They correspond with our nature created in the image of God and are therefore a recipe for happiness.

That is why St Thomas was able to write: ‘Sin is nothing else than to stray from what is according to our nature’7 In other words, sin makes us miserable precisely because it is contrary to our nature created by God. This is remarkably summarised by the Catechism of the Catholic Church (# 2059): ‘The ten words (Ten Commandments)… belong to God’s revelation of Himsel f and His glory.

The gift of the Commandments is the gift of God Himself and His holy will.

In making His will known, God reveals Himself to His people’.

Q. What about the principle of double effect which allows for doing something that could have a good and bad effect?

A. In the principle of double effect, the first requirement is that the action performed be, in itself, good or at least indifferent. As we have demonstrated, having recourse to tainted vaccines is in itself wrong, and therefore the principle does not apply here. One can never do something that is positively wrong so that good may come from it.

For example, a priest cannot give Holy Communion to a public sinner who is a millionaire in order to get the donation he needs to build a school.

Q. Surely a priest who refuses the jab is just being self-centred and delicate with regard to his own health, especially if it involves him not being able to directly perform certain duties?

A. This might be the case if there were no ethical objections to the vaccine itself and if only minor disadvantages were to be expected from the jab.

However, objectively speaking it is not the case when we know the origin of the vaccine and the real danger it poses to health and even to life.

A priest cannot be reproached for refusing a treatment whose evil derivation he is aware of, and which is known to have caused many deaths and injuries. This is not being delicate, but prudent and having a proper love of self and others, for were something bad to happen to this priest because of the vaccine, others would suffer the loss.

Besides, it would be tempting God to expect Him to protect us if we took a drug we knew to be disadvantageous to our health.

Up to now, a number of priests have been unaware of the extent of the depravity of what is currently occurring. However, given all the progress of harm done by the vaccines and the growing tyranny, it seems no longer possible for a priest to ignore what is really going on. If he is ignorant, it might be because he is so busy he hasn’t even considered it. But if it’s because he doesn’t want to or is too afraid because of the social and hierarchical consequences, then it is a serious problem.

Q. Should not a priest, who knows the physical dangers of the vaccines, lay down his life for his faithful like a military chaplain at war and take the jab anyway with the hope of serving for some time the needs of souls?

A. A priest must sometimes take risks for his faithful and must even be prepared to expose his physical health

for the souls of those in his charge.

For example, if a parish priest happens to go by the burning house of one of his parishioners, he has a duty to risk his life in order to administer the sacraments to those who are trapped inside, assuming he has a chance of success. If we apply this principle here, it would seem that if the priest is going to lose his ministry for not being vaccinated, thus leaving many souls without the sacraments, he should take the risk and get the jab, hoping that it will do him no harm, either in the short or the long term. He might even recall the word of the Lord: If they shall drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them (Mark 16:18).

However, the comparison is not a valid one, for two reasons. Firstly, the objective evil origin of the vaccine remains, and as we have seen, one may never do something evil to obtain a good. Secondly, in the scenario of the burning house there is no other way for the faithful to receive the sacraments; this is not so with the administration of the sacraments in a parish. The principle reason for this is that there are other ways of making the ministry possible. Let’s suppose a bishop removes a priest from his parish or even suspends him from ministry for refusal to get vaccinated and there is no one to replace him. The decision being contrary to both the Natural Law and the Divine Law, is unjust, and therefore without effect. The highest law in the Church is the salvation of souls, and compared to it everything else fades into the background.

Canonical decisions that contradict the Natural and Divine Law are null and utterly void. This priest, therefore, can and must continue to serve the needs of the faithful, even if it has to be in their homes and without his bishop’s approval.

The comparison with the war scenario where a priest risks his life to administer the sacraments to dying soldiers on the battlefield also fails, because the chaplain is putting the spiritual needs of men above his physical health without involving himself in an illicit action. What’s more, a soldier or military chaplain need not risk his life all the time. There are times and there are ways. Even soldiers hide and camouflage, and avoid going straight into danger.

This priest may think that he is acting heroically by putting his life on the line

11th February 2022 to be able to serve his people and save souls, and he may indeed be performing a meritorious action. He would however be doing something objectively wrong, and this could jeopardise his eternal salvation. Furthermore, a priest has a second point to consider, namely that his reception of the vaccine passively counsels others to follow his example.

Q. Didn’t you say spiritual welfare trumps physical welfare? On that logic, shouldn’t priests get vaccinated to at least give the last rites and sacraments?

A. This is a very tough call for priests.

Being shut out of the hospital or the nursing home because he is not vaccinated is a grave injustice, one that will deeply pain the heart of a good priest. It is not surprising at all that many priests resolve this question in favour of undergoing the injustice and taking the jab. Again, if it were only a question of minor risks or inconvenience, the decision would be easy. However, again we are faced with two problems.

The first is that a priest cannot do something that is objectively wrong (take an abortion-tainted vaccine) in order to perform a charitable act.

This is false charity. Furthermore, on a medical and prudential level, the

Catholic Voice growing evidence and the evergreater number of doctors and scientists pleading for the immediate cessation of the vaccine rollout proves of itself that we are not dealing here with minor inconveniences. Many have died and many others have been gravely injured. The long-term effects are still unknown. In this context, no one can blindly trust our politicians and pharmaceutical companies, the priest less than anyone else. It’s not in the short term but in the long term that we need to consider the importance of the presence of the priest.

Q. So are you saying they just have to sit there and allow the faithful to die like animals without the sacraments?

Isn’t that uncharitable?

A. A good priest will never ‘sit there’ when someone is in need. If the priest has faith, he will see miracles happen, doors open. Even if he does not, there is still much he can do. He should, first of all, forewarn all parishioners that he may be denied entrance into the hospital or nursing home. This will give the faithful greater incentive to be prepared at all times. If someone does require hospitalisation, they need to be told to ring the priest first before the ambulance so that they can receive the sacraments before going to the hospital.

For nursing homes, it is a matter of being astute. Most elderly persons can

be taken out for a few hours, and during this time the family can organise the visit of a priest. It is sad that we have to have recourse to these tactics, but it is no different than at times when the priests were forced underground or had to disguise themselves as laymen in various periods of Church history.

This brings up another important point.

God never asks us to do the impossible.

Sometimes we find ourselves in a situation where there is no ideal solution. In those cases, we must take the path of objective good and abandon ourselves to God’s providence. He will bless us and take care of the rest, for then we will truly be doing the loving thing.

Q. Some bishops have actually mandated vaccination for their priests. Aren’t they showing love for their people by doing this, so that the priests don’t infect the laity?

A. The fullness of the priesthood has been given to Bishops in order to lead souls to Heaven, not to dictate personal opinions about medical questions.

They have no right whatsoever to mandate vaccination. Even if the vaccinations were safe, effective and stopped the spread (none of which is true), this would still be wrong.

They are allowing the Bride of Christ to be violated and abused by a quasiomnipotent bureaucracy. Sadly, this is an egregious crime for which they will one day have to give an account.

Such bishops are acting contrary to the Natural Law, because any person in possession of his intellectual faculties has an inalienable right, within the limits of the moral law, to make individual medical decisions. No human authority, including the supreme religious authority, may legitimately usurp that right. They are acting contrary to positive human law, in particular against the Nuremberg Code (1947) which stipulates that for human experimentation ‘the voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential. This means that the person involved should have legal capacity to give consent; should be so situated as to be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion; and should have sufficient knowledge and comprehension of the elements of the subject matter involved as to enable him to make an understanding and enlightened decision’. Finally, they are acting against Church Law, for they are abusing their spiritual power to force medical procedures on their priests. It is an awful form of clericalism. Such abuse is comparable to egregious crimes such as pedophilia, and may very well one day be recognised and punished as such.

Q. What if a priest is under pressure to get vaccinated, and thinks he

Catholic Voice would thereby be giving a good, loving example to others?

A. A priest in this situation must pray for an increase in the virtue of prudence and an abundant supply of the Gifts of Counsel and Fortitude. He may have a big heart and want to show love by taking the jab, but the virtue of prudence commands even the virtue of charity. If, which is to be hoped, after due diligence in studying this matter, he comes to the conclusion that taking the vaccine is neither prudent nor charitable, then his duty is to stand firm, come what may, and trust ultimately in the intervention of Divine Providence.

If he went ahead and took the jab, sadly, he would be scandalising the souls who witness him cave in to pressure and take a drug he should know is not only unsafe, but worse, a form of cooperation in the gravest form of child abuse. Scandal, leading another into sin, is one of the gravest sins against charity. This is why Our Lord said: He that shall scandalise one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea (Mt 18:6). He also runs the risk of depriving his faithful of the sacraments in the event that it would cause him serious harm. Of what use is a dead or incapacitated priest?

He would be harming those who think he’s safe when he’s not. This is one of the most glaring problems with the present government narrative. The mandates are forcing vaccination with full knowledge that the protection it is supposed to provide is not being given.

Why do the protected require the unprotected to have the same level of protection that has caused the protected to be so afraid of the unprotected?

In other words, the vaccinated are a real danger of contagion (and even breeding more aggressive variants) because they think they are protected when they are not, and that leaves them open to contracting and spreading the virus. This absurdity reaches mindboggling proportions when we have governments celebrating the ‘opening of borders to the vaccinated’ and at the same time warning that this will increase the number of ‘cases’ and then locking down venues reserved to fully vaccinated patrons due to a ‘Covid outbreak’! The unvaccinated, on the other hand, are often more cautious, and what’s more, when they are well-informed, they take vitamins and minerals to fortify their immune system against the virus.

Finally, such a priest would also be harming the bishops and politicians who encourage the jab, and who will have to answer to God for it. It is an act of charity to resist any bishop, priest or

11th February 2022 politician who encourages vaccination, for when the day of reckoning comes for them, it is hard to imagine how they will be exempt of responsibility. The Nuremberg trials are a sober reminder that crimes will be severely punished – already in this world – on anyone who had authority and did nothing to oppose the crimes.

Q. What about the vaccination of children, particularly if the mandates extend to schooling? Isn’t getting an education an important act of charity so that a child may be able to make a contribution to society?

A. The same objective principles as above need to be applied to children.

But there is more. Dr Robert Malone, the inventor of mRNA vaccine gene technology, has delivered a chilling warning and an excellent summary of the medical dangers of experimental gene therapies to parents not to allow the vaccination of children due to the changes it will cause in their immune system: “Before you inject your child – a decision that is irreversible – I wanted to let you know the scientific facts about this genetic vaccine, which is based on the mRNA vaccine technology I created. There are three issues parents need to understand. The first is that a viral gene will be injected into your child’s cells. This gene forces your child’s body to make toxic spike proteins. These proteins often cause permanent damage in children’s critical organs, including their brain and nervous system, their heart and blood vessels, including blood clots, their reproductive system, and this vaccine can trigger fundamental changes to their immune system.

The most alarming point about this is that once these damages have occurred, they are irreparable. You can’t fix the lesions within their brain. You can’t repair heart tissue scarring. You can’t repair a genetically reset immune system, and this vaccine can cause reproductive damage that could affect future generations of your family. The second thing you need to know about is the fact that this novel technology has not been adequately tested. We need at least 5 years of testing/research before we can really understand the risks.

Harms and risks from new medicines often become revealed many years later. Ask yourself if you want your own child to be part of the most radical medical experiment in human history.

One final point: the reason they’re giving you to vaccinate your child is a lie. Your children represent no danger to their parents or grandparents. It’s actually the opposite. Their immunity, after getting COVID, is critical to saving your family, if not the world, from this disease. In summary: there

11th February 2022 is no benefit for your children or your family to be vaccinating your children against the small risks of the virus, given the known health risks of the vaccine that as a parent, you and your children may have to live with for the rest of their lives. The risk/benefit analysis isn’t even close.”8 Dr Malone’s remarks make us wonder if this manipulation of the genetic heritage is not an even more serious crime that the theft and abuse of human cells. When we consider the irreversible transformation it will cause in the next generation, this may very well be the case.

Q. I understand now where you are coming from and that the narrative being pushed upon us is not the truth. However, with the polarising nature of this topic and the government mandates, aren’t the socalled ‘truth tellers’ like yourself sinning against charity by sowing contention, discord, quarrelling and even encouraging sedition? Should we not seek to speak with one voice?

A. There can be no charity without truth. If our concern for others is based on a falsehood, then it is not charity, but misguided philanthropy. In every age, brave souls have had to stand up against errors and lies, precisely out of love for their fellow man. It is never fun being the party spoiler or having to point out the elephant in the room or to say that the emperor has no clothes.

But those who have the courage to do so are the ones who truly love.

When St Catherine of Siena went to Avignon to plead with the pope to return to Italy, it took a lot of courage, but she did so because she loved. She loved Christ and she loved His Vicar, whom she called the ‘sweet Christ on earth’. Out of love, she even went so far as to call the schismatic cardinals ‘incarnate devils’. Such language makes one think of St John the Baptist who called the Pharisees a ‘brood of vipers’ (Lk 3:7) or Our Lord who called them ‘whited sepulchres’ (Mt 23:27).

What’s more, never in history has a true reform been achieved without rowing against the current. It has been one of the disastrous policies of the Catholic Church in recent decades to not oppose evil, but to pretend that by being nice to everyone, somehow things will work out. Nowhere is it written that Christ was ‘nice’. He was actually quite harsh with those who needed it, as with the Pharisees, because He loved them and wanted to try to convert them. This is something we have lost. Our prelates and priests

Catholic Voice are afraid of saying anything that will upset people. But that is not Christian at all. The true Christian wants what is truly good for people and what is truly good means first off all eliminating the evil. We need to read again what Paul VI wrote in Humane Vitae: ‘To diminish in no way the saving teaching of Christ constitutes an eminent form of charity for souls.’

In a situation such as the one we find ourselves in, anyone who has any kind of moral authority and who sees the evil of the narrative has a duty to speak out. Failure to do so means certain victory for the forces of evil. There are numerous examples in history of this. Pope St Felix III affirmed: ‘Not to oppose error is to approve it; and not to defend truth is to suppress it, and, indeed, to neglect to confound evil men—when we can do it—is no less a sin than to encourage them’. Of course, for this we need courage, but if we can muster enough of it, we can be influential in making things change.

Ronald Reagan once said: ‘Evil is powerless if the good are unafraid’.

Q. Does this mean that we must take on a more activist role in opposing the narrative?

A. Activism need not take the form of protests in the streets. All have the duty to pray and do penance, speak the truth, resist evil, never cooperate with error and sin. For some, however, the duty is more pressing. It is clear that priests and doctors must take the lead.

Priests may be terribly burdened with the demands of ministry, but this does not diminish, rather it enhances, their duty to refresh what they learned in seminary and to remain abreast of current issues. Moral theology does not exist in a vacuum. It has practical applications and consequences. The priest cannot claim ignorance when this can be overcome by diligent study. The articles on Conscience and Prudence offered abundant references to reputable sources, precisely to enable the busy priest to find the right answers quickly and undertake further study in this matter. A priest cannot turn a blind eye to the issues at hand, for he must guide the faithful who turn to him for moral advice. This is a huge challenge, especially when under pressure from superiors, but he cannot continue to play the ostrich, and just pull the trigger, hoping it will work out and nobody else will be killed. Priests will be required to give an account, and sooner than we think.

Doctors too, in order to be able to advise patients truthfully, have the grave duty to undertake due diligence

CHARITY & VACCINES 25 in regard to the true nature of the virus, any prophylactic supplements and measures, viable ethical treatments, as well as study of vaccines in general.

Many patients are likely 9 to follow their doctor’s advice blindly, which only increases their responsibility.

Doctors will not be allowed to say, ‘I didn’t know’ or ‘I was following orders and guidelines’. The doctor’s duty is to know. If he cannot help, he must at least do no harm and refer to someone who can help. At the moment, doctors are under scrutiny and they risk their profession by going against the narrative. In the end, however, their solace will be that they truly loved their patients, and did the right thing, even if it was to their own temporal loss. Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends (Jn 15:13).

In His discourse on the end of time, Our Blessed Lord Himself warned us that, because iniquity hath abounded, the charity of many shall grow cold (Mt 24:12). It would appear that this time has come. Many of our choices to ‘do the loving thing’ are tainted with self-love, as St Paul warned his disciple Timothy: Know also this, that in the last days shall come dangerous times. Men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, haughty,… lovers of pleasure more than of God (2 Tm 3:1-4). In that context, priests and laity alike can easily be led astray, caught up in the ways of the world, and fail to see their duty and follow through with it. We are all good at making good excuses to avoid the hard decisions.

Let us ask the Lord, through the Mother of Fair Love (cf. Eccli. 24:24), for the grace to love the truth, to love in truth, and to do the truth in love (cf.

Eph 4:15). Even though the hour is late, it is never too late to love. Charity beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things (1 Cor 13:5-7).

How Catholics Fall into Liberalism “Liberalism is therefore the radical and universal denial of all divine truth and Christian dogma, the primal type of all heresy, and the supreme rebellion against the authority of God and His Church.”

When it was first published in Spain in 1886, Liberalism is a Sin sought to make an attempt to sound the alarm and warn the people in the decades leading up to the deluge of the Spanish Civil War. Society can either choose the mistaken notion of Liberalism, or it can turn to the light of Christian Revelation; hopefully it is not too late for many. The excerpt below, taken from Chapter 25, touches on the difficult question of how Catholics sometimes fall into the trap of Liberalism.

The quote reads thus: Various are the ways in which a faithful Christian is drawn into the error of Liberalism.

Very often corruption of heart is a consequence of errors of the intellect, but more frequently still, errors of the intellect follow the corruption of the heart. The history of heresies very clearly shows this fact.

Their beginnings nearly always present the same character, either wounded self-love or a grievance to be avenged; either it is a woman that makes the heresiarch lose his head and his soul, or it is a bag of gold for which he sells his conscience.

Error nearly always has its origin, not in profound and laborious studies, but in the triple-headed monster which St. John describes and calls concupiscentia carnis, concupiscentia oculorum, superbia vitae – “concupiscence of the flesh, concupiscence of the eyes, the pride of life.”

Here are the sources of all error, here are the roads to Liberalism. Let us dwell on them for a moment.

Men become Liberal on account of a natural desire for independence and for an easy life.

Liberalism is necessarily sympathetic with the depraved nature of man, just as Catholicity is essentially opposed to it. Liberalism is emancipation from restraint; Catholicity the curb of the passions.

Now, fallen man, by a very natural tendency, loves a system which legitimises and sanctifies his pride of intellect and the license of passion.

Hence, Tertullian says, “The soul, in its noble aspirations, is naturally Christian.” Likewise may it be said that man, by the taint of his origin, is born naturally Liberal.

Logically then does he declare himself a Liberal in due form when he discovers that Liberalism offers a protection for his caprices and an excuse for his indulgences.

Men become Liberal by the desire for advancement in life.

Liberalism is today the dominating idea; it reigns everywhere and especially in the sphere of public life. It is therefore a sure recommendation to public favour.

On starting out in life, the young man looks around upon the various paths that lead to fortune, to fame, to glory, and sees that an almost indispensable condition of reaching the desired goal is, at least in our times, to become Liberal.

Not to be Liberal is to place in his way, at the outset, what appears to be an insurmountable obstacle. He must be heroic to resist the Tempter, who shows him, as he did Jesus Christ in the desert, a splendid future, saying: Haec omnia tibi dabo si cadens adoraveris me: “All this will I give thee, if, falling down, thou wilt adore me.”

Heroes are rare, and it is natural that most young men beginning their career should affiliate with Liberalism. It promises them the assistance of a powerful press, the recommendation of powerful protectors, the potent influence of secret societies, the patronage of distinguished men.

The poor ultramontane requires a thousand times more merit to make himself known and to acquire a name, and youth is ordinarily little scrupulous.

Liberalism, moreover, is essentially favourable to that public life which this age so ardently pursues. It holds out as tempting baits public offices, commissions, fat positions, etc., which constitute the organism of the official machine.

It seems an absolute condition for political preferment. To meet an ambitious young man who despises and detests the perfidious Corrupter is a marvel of God’s grace.

Men become Liberal out of avarice, or the love of money.

To get along in the world, to succeed in business, is always a standing temptation of Liberalism.

It meets the young man at every turn. Around him in a thousand ways does he feel the secret or open hostility of the enemies of his faith.

In mercantile life or in the professions he is passed by, overlooked, ignored. Let him relax a little in his faith, join a forbidden secret society, and lo, the bolts and bars are drawn; he possesses the “open sesame” to success!

Then the invidious discrimination against him melts in the fraternal embrace of the enemy, who rewards his perfidy by advancing him in a thousand ways.

Such a temptation is difficult for the ambitious to withstand. Be Liberal, admit that there is no great difference between men’s creeds, that at the bottom they are really the same after all.

Proclaim your breadth of mind by admitting that other religious

beliefs are just as good for other people as your faith is for you; they are, as far as they know, just as right as you are; it is largely a question of education and temperament what a man believes; and how quickly you are patted on the back as a “broadgauged” man who has escaped the narrow limitations of his creed.

You will be extensively patronised, for Liberalism is very generous to a convert. “Falling down adore me, and I will give you all these things,” says Satan yet to Jesus Christ in the desert.

Such are the ordinary causes of perversions to Liberalism; from these all others flow. Whoever has any experience of the world and the human heart can easily trace the others.

Let Us Give Ourselves Completely To Mary Fr. Dana Ambrose Christensen

In October of 2019, I was blessed to make a private pilgrimage to Fatima, Portugal, where Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children in 1917 with an urgent message for the world. It was a pilgrimage of many and great graces. I was able to offer Holy Mass at the very place of the apparitions, participate in the nightly candlelight rosary procession, pray at the tombs of St. Jacinta, St. Francisco, and Lucia, the three shepherd children, and offer the Traditional Latin Mass daily with the son of the owner of the hotel serving the Holy Mass.

I spent many hours praying in the Chapel of the Apparitions, and there I distinctly remember asking Our Lady of Fatima to make me a saint no matter what it takes. It was a prayer that would change the course of my life forever. Our Lady of Fatima would answer that prayer in a way I never could have imagined.

Frankly, I expected that prayer to be answered by making me strong and powerful. Maybe by making me a bishop of a large diocese. Maybe God would

make me a preacher on the world stage. Maybe, just maybe, he would make me a cardinal or even pope!

Yes, I was that ambitious and full of pride, and it did a lot of damage to my soul. Maybe that can be a topic for a future post. Needless to say, I had quite an active imagination. But the point is that I never expected my prayer to be answered the way it was.

As Scripture says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8–9). How true it is!

His ways are most certainly better than my ways, and I believe my time in Fatima was Our Lady’s way of preparing me to accept what God had in store for me.

On my last night in Fatima, I went to the sacristy as usual to prepare for the candlelight procession, and as usual, I chatted with one of the volunteer sacristans who spoke very good English. He said to me something I will never forget, and which I believe was prophetic.

He said, “I have been watching you all week, and I have never seen a priest as devoted as you. You came here alone, but now you do not leave alone. Our Lady goes with you.” He was right, Our Lady would accompany me home and be a constant support in my coming trials.

As I was driving through Minnesota on my way home from the airport, I received a phone call from my doctor’s nurse telling me the news that I likely had ALS. That diagnosis was confirmed in December at the Mayo Clinic. I believe, without a shadow of a doubt, that this is the answer to the prayer I prayed to Our Lady of Fatima. It’s as if Our Lady and Our Lord chose this exact disease to make me a saint. Let me explain.

TAKE UP YOUR CROSS 29

I, as I mentioned before, am a prideful man, so Our Lord chose for me a disease that would humble me in every possible way.

He saw I was ambitious, so He laid on my shoulder a cross that would force me to retire from active ministry.

He saw I was a glutton, so He gave me a disease that would slowly take away my ability to eat.

He saw I often went places I ought not go, so it was a disease that would take away my ability to walk that became my cross.

He saw that I was given to gossip, detraction, and foul language, so He allowed ALS to take away my ability to speak.

All this and more because He loves me and wants me to become free from sin! All this because His mercy seeks to burn out of me every stain of sin! All this because He loves me enough to make me the saint He has always longed for me to be!

All this He desires for you, too. He will choose for you the cross that will most easily make you a saint, and a great one at that! But we would do well to ask Our Lady for help. She will, as she did for me, soften the blow and prepare us to receive our cross. She is the most perfect of mothers. If we give ourselves over to her as Jesus Himself did, she will protect, defend, and console us. She will never leave our side. And when the moment comes, and we are called by Jesus to mount the wood of the cross along with Him, she will be there, at the foot of the cross, urging us on. And then, she stays. She will stay with us until we take our dying breath. Then, with St. Joseph, she will lead us to Jesus, the merciful and just judge.

So, let us not fear to give ourselves completely over to Mary. She has proven to be a good mother to Jesus, me, and if you will have her, you, too! We would do well to consecrate ourselves to her Immaculate Heart. She said at Fatima that her Immaculate Heart would be our refuge, so let us all rest in her heart.

As you can see, this whole journey began with, and hopefully will end with, Our Lady of Fatima. May she be praised!

Fatima Prayer

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He Himself is offended, and through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners. Amen.
