After 13 months of being unable to celebrate Mass inside Our Savior, the very first Mass to be celebrated inside was Holy Thursday. The altar of repose was situated in between the church sanctuary and courtyard to avail all in attendance an opportunity to pray with Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.

I would like to share with you some highlights from a financial standpoint on the fiscal year just completed, both as to the General Ministry and the Campaign. The general operations showed a profit of $703K. This was largely due to three things: (1) employee expenses were down due to attrition that was not replaced, (2) program expenses were down as many programs were curtailed or reduced, and (3) your generosity continued. Our operating cash position increased $685K which was after transferring $1.360M to our endowments. Our endowment assets increased $3.700M from the transfer and as we participated in the rising stock market and after distributing $1.183M to operations. This does not include a market increase in our USC endowment as the June 30th values have not been provided as of this time and the full value of the Catholic Community FoundationLA endowment as that is valued as of December 31, 2020. Our Campaign showed a surplus of $808K. This year we paid off the remaining portion, $476,000, of the Archdiocese building loan and received a PPI loan in the amount of $261,000. 2021-2022 should see us with increased expenses as we return to full operations. We have a balanced budget; however, it is heavily dependent upon yearly receipts. Our outstanding pledges continue to be reduced year after year as these continue to be difficult to obtain. The Campaign has been extended from June 30, 2021 to June 30, 2024. Moss Adams has been engaged to be our auditor. Yes, this was a year to remember. Let’s hope and pray that 2021-2022 marks a return to normalcy.
